I’ve been lifting raw for a couple years now and I’m really wanting to get into Multiply lifting. Any recommendations for Squat suits and Bench shirts? And suggestions on how to program it other than westside style?
FUCK YEAH! ANOTHER soon to be gear whore!! take that you raw zealots!! in yur face haha
I am huge fan of METAL gear. First off Elite fts has it on sale all the time. Plus they are a stellar bunch t do business with anyways. The stuff is made VERY well and lasts forever it seems. Barring you growing out of it, it will last for years and years.
some guidelines. I own some PRO, Jack and Ace stuff so here’s what I have found to be the general characteristic of the material.
ACE - almost like canvass. Will stop your ass dead in the hole or on the chest. but unlike canvass, it gives rebound. Since this shit is tough, it alters my natural squat form. I literally just keep sitting back and down into the suit and it’ll toss you forward a bit. knees out and chest up is a cue that must be done or you fold up like a lawn chair.
PRO - Doesn’t really stop you in the hole. It is suppotive as shit but not like ACE stuff. Probably the most forgiving groove when compard to lifting raw.
JACK - Best of both worlds. Stops preetty good and gives that “springy” rebound. If you can get past the Orange shit I’d recommend going this route.
If you want to go all out, get Jack briefs and an ACE suit. then Jack or ace shirt. Pulling sumo in the ace / jack squat suit is the shit. TONS of pop. IDK if you “need” a dedicated dead suit onless you just want it.
hope this helps. oh, Jo Jordan / Mat Goodwin at EFS will answer all your ?'s. DON’T be shy, call them up they’ll get you lined out.
Thanks I’ll check em out.
StrengthDawg,
I am thinking of some metal briefs to start training in to get used to multi ply. I am getting a single ply TRX suit first. Do the metal briefs still go by quad and hip size?
Pretty much Hoss, here’s the sizing chart. elitefts.com/size-chart.htm
looks like the Jack briefs are on sale and the price is pretty much the same as the Pro’s. I don’t know if metal makes single ply briefs.
Pick up some used gear first and work with a crew that knows what they are doing.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Overkill and it’s all custom for the same $.
