Hmm I know this is off topic but I was wondering if there’s any benefit to smoking weed from a BB perspective.
Smoking after a heavy squat session and eating a large quantity of mexican food is benefit enough for me.
x2 on that but I meant more like does THC have any effect on one’s muscles directly.
They turn green and you start growing small hairs out of your body of various colors of the rainbow. Though you will always smell like skunk. A small price to pay.
best friends dad is a doctor. He speaks of the merits of cannabis highly for people with a variety of disorders and pretty much says its harmless. Hmm who to believe, some bullshit propaganda article, or a real doctor that i know personally. MMM haze

I’ll splain it to you.
The study is a longitudinal study of young adults comparing marijuana smokers against non-smokers. It could be argued that young adults who partake in marijuana smoking might be predisposed to psychosis or emotional problems more generally, thus leading them to smoke marijuana in the first place.
This, compounded by various environmental factors, socio-economic status, protective factors (family relationships), peer relations, all play a role in the behavior young adults. So the study is already problematic, simply because they are using young adults as their test cohort and because they would need to control for all these possible intervening factors in order to isolate marijuana as the single variable leading to psychosis.
HH, without citing the original study with all the measures that were used, as well as the significance tests that prove any kind of statistical significance, it is very difficult to state as a matter of fact that this study proves that marijuana use leads to psychosis.
I also highly doubt that Bloomberg.com truly examined the clinical study and any of these possible problematic assertions, but rather pulled out the minute talking points that make it a sexy topic that garners page views. Nevermind the researchers themselves, who are just happy enough to data-thump and get themselves published and consequently cited.
What mainly bothers me about it is that the independent variable they most look it is “years since first cannabis use.” They ignore how many years the kids had actually smoked for and how heavily they used, even though they had that data. Seems like another case of manipulating statistical analysis to get the desired results.

I don’t hate a person because they smoke weed, but I find it hard to justify.
It is in some ways less abhorrent than alcohol, however, weed’s specific effect on my psyche and function is such that I cannot say it is ~less~ damaging than alcohol. Especialy not to say, it is without grievous affect, as many herb smokers believe.
Smoking weed is basically paying money to be a lazy over eater, wtf is the point?

A quote from Dr. Andrew Weil(this was on Larry King)
“…it is much, much less toxic than alcohol or tobacco”
He went on to say that it’s basically THE drug that drug companies wish they could mimic, in terms of liver and kidney toxicity.
I’m not saying it’s healthy.
However, in terms of damage to the body, if you choose one, I think Marijuana will prove time and again to be the least harmful.
*I’m talking about naturally grown marijuana, not the chemical laced hydro.
I smoke 2 joints in the morning
I smoke 2 joints at night
I smoke 2 joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright
I smoke 2 joints in time of peace and 2 in times of war
I smoke 2 joints before I smoke 2 joints then I smoke 2 more.

The point is to relax and alter your reality a little bit.
I guess for some people it works. I never liked it. Pot always made me feel stupid and lazy. I HATED talking to people while I was high because I had this retarded grin on my face, and I felt like they thought I was stupid.
This guy I used to work with was 32 and still lived with his parents. He had two kids from two different chicks. He smoked weed all fucking day, all the time. He always complained about how broke he was, but had no problem spending 60 bucks a day on dope. Ironically, his parents were huge pot heads too. I remember hanging out at his house one time and he, his mom, and dad would sit around in the living room and smoke weed together. It was kind of weird, like twilight zone.
I know not all pot heads are un-motivated slackers, but this guy fit the sterotypical stoner to a T.

There is no point to be explained. People who don’t like to smoke it or have not smoked it can not possibly understand. After a while of smoking weed you’ll learn to truly appreciate the feeling of the high but that’s something that people like yourself can’t understand because you can’t see a justification for smokin’ .

Let me guess, you’ll post this shit, let the discussion lead to legality, safety, morality, and comparisons of pot to other drugs, let there be name calling, and Snoop Dogg references, and the whole thread will turn into a clusterfuck… and you’ll just be sitting silently behind your computer screen beating off to all of it?

You should win a prize for that one lolz. Not sure about the silent part.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I’m schizophrenic
And I am too
The only proven deleterious effects from smoking weed are on your lungs. And it’s not as bad as cigarettes.
All the claims about LSD causing permanent psychosis aren’t true, either. Weed isn’t harmful at all. But I would be Leary about some kitchen chemist synthesizing up a bad batch of MDMA, and winding up with permanent Parkinsonian symptoms.

Spoken like a true warrior.
A warrior doesn’t want to use something that makes him lethargic and stupid. Once in a while, in celebration, warriors cut loose. But that state of mind on a regular basis is only for the cattle.
