New Squat PR!!!

About a month ago, I finally worked up to 315 lbs for 3 sets of 3 reps before I had to drop the weight. Keep in mind I need 3-5 minutes to recover when my intensity is high per set.

Then I went on my bulking cycle where I kick it off with 20 rep breathing squats for my first workout. The following squat workout I typically bang out 4 to 5 sets of 10 reps of squats.

Well, my third squat workout (yesterday) I was feeling particularly strong, so I warmed up and threw 3 plates on the bar (315 lbs). I banged out one set of 5 reps no problem. 90 seconds later I banged out another set of 5 reps no problem. I ended up doing 7 sets of 5 reps with 90 seconds rest in between!

The most significant part is the 90 second rest period. Typically I would need 3 to 5 minutes between high intensity sets. I’m pinching myself because I almost can’t believe what I did yesterday.

I feel like a big strong beefy bastard right now. Look out 4 plates (405 lbs), here I come!!!

How about another PR? This morning I went in and banged out 335 lbs for 5 X 5. I’ll enjoy this while it lasts.

Great job! Squats are the best and getting stronger at em is the best feeling. Coincidentally, I did squats last night followed by stiff leg deads and felt like puking when I left.
