New Name for Grow!

“Grow!” is a STUPID name.

I didn’t know anything about Biotest until I found this site. Whenever I saw something in the shop called “Grow!” I thought it was some stupid, cheap, rubbish supplement full of sugar and carbs and given a tacky name and probably trying to convince people they will grow huge taking it.

Obviously you can’t judge a book by its cover and I am proven to be an idiot for making that assumption.

But imagine what a negative effect it must have had on the general population and especially women!

For all the reasons outlined in the original post, the name change is a damned good idea.

But guys, you should make it more obvious, I was confused for weeks between Grow! and Metabolic Drive, looking through the Australian Biotest shop website (which I notice recently changed url and layout).

Anyway, mystery solved.

The product is magnificent and everyone should try it.

f-heit.com does in fact sell the Metabolic Drive products, and it is geared for the non bodybuilding female.

I agree the new name definitely suits it better…

have you guys considered making a sucralose-free product?

Grow! is the best protein powder I’ve ever tried. It also is the first one to not ‘bother’ me, and I’ve gained 4 pounds, with slight decrease in BF over the past month. Not bad for a 52 year old!

I guess it’s the meathead in me, but I LIKED the name Grow! because that’s what I want to do, Grow! But as long as the formula doesn’t change, whatever.

Hey don’t get me wrong, the ONLY reasons I thought it was a bad name is because

  1. it would turn away the people who want to lose weight but don’t really want to get really big, you know those stoopid people that think that if they touch the weights they will suddenly become enormously muscular, and haven’t yet realised it takes years of agonising struggle

  2. it is the kind of name that cheaper bullshite products would have … but this might just be me. And is my fault for not investigating it myself.

Of course now I know the product it is not a problem. But I want sales to be enormous, therefore Biotest gets rich and passes on economies of scale to us.

  1. I still love the name “Grow!” Grow! is a super catchy name and sets it apart from all the others (aside from the awesome taste, mixability, qualities of the product…etc…) I know I’d bring my old canisters of another brand and no one would notice. Then I’d bring my Grow! to work and everyone would check out my canister, saying stuff like “wow neat, it’s called Grow!” and “This makes you grow, eh?” and asking to try some.

  2. Better yet, I LOVE the name “GROWL!” That would be the best. Put a growling white tiger face on the can, the logo, “Makes you GROWL! Makes your sweetie GROWL! even more!”

Hey that “GROWL” ain’t bad!

The problem is the initial perception of the name, once you know the product, you could call it “Powdered Dog Turds!” and people would still buy it. Although maybe they would not want others to see them taking it (hey maybe they would).

Really the product should be called whatever they want, but under the name, in big letters a sub-line telling the world what it is.

Metabolic Drive!
super protein shake
advanced nutrition especially for use at night to maintain positive protein state for 8 hours as you sleep

Or something.

Another problem with Biotest products is there is no uniform look to them, each product looks different. You would not look at a bunch of them and think they were all the same company. Is this important? who knows. Maybe.

BUT NONE OF THIS MATTERS TO ANYONE WHO KNOWS THE PRODUCT AND THE COMPANY.

So the real problem is not knowing about T-Nation. Maybe each product should say under the product name

or

Or maybe I am just being a turkey. I mean, I am out in Australia, it’s rare to see much product range out here, I don’t know if anyone has heard of Biotest or T-Nation, I’ll ask around. I can’t recall if I have even seen it in a shop? But I certainly had not heard of it in a magazine, not that I’ve been reading many in the past few years. I’d encountered this website years back but it seemed early days then? I stopped looking at it and only came across it again recently when looking for power bands on ebay, and came across ironwoody, who mentioned this site as reviewing them. So you see marketing of T-Nation and Biotest didn’t get to me except indirectly, and I am glad it did, but would have preferred coming across it earler.

I want these products to sell well and therefore reduce the price through economies of scale, AND to allow funding of research to more products.

GRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrr… I just had a shake and I’m growling. See? They should call it “Growl”!!

Are there any plans to make an unsweetened / unflavored version? I love Metabolic Drive, but I think it can be a bit too sweet sometimes, and it would be nice to be able to cut it

I think an unflavored protein is out of the question… I think the flavor masks the HORRIBLE taste of straight up Whey protien. I don’t know if they can just make that go away, that would be handy though.

Hi!
Have you ever added unsweetened/unflavored whey powder to a tuna casserole, soup or stew? You can’t taste anything, but you will boost the protein content. It’s great in recipes, adds variety in your diet…and for those of us who like savory much more than sweet, its a great way to get in extra protein. I vote for a neutral Growl! (sorry, I like the name Growl better than any other name!)
