Rap is like techno - 95% of it really, really sucks.
So far, I’m into EDit, Busdriver, and The Grouch. Can’t stand most of the rest of it.
Great lifting music = A Wilhelm Scream. Its along the lines of melodic hardcore, and the guitarists are ridiculous. Has great transitions, is really up beat, and the harmonies on guitar are amazing. Here’s a more recent song off their latest album:

Also, AWS puts on a great live show… 5/5!

Seems like they have some pretty good musicians, although not my style of music. Their riffs tend to be “choppier” in a lot of parts than I like, but I wouldn’t call them bad at all, more of a preference thing.
A good band that is not new but is new to me. This has to be one of the best songs I’ve ever heard.
Enforsaken - the acting parts

Descendants as well? You sir must listen to good music. They had a show in Chicago about a month ago and are having another one in July… 5/5 for sure.
And a lot of people feel the same way as you Defekt. They have a lot of transitions and timing variations, but I still love em.
been listening to a bunch of new music lately
nas - hero, finally nas has got a banger on his hand, honestly havent heard a track like this in awhile, especially from nas as the majority of his production is questionable
jay-z - a billi(a milli remix) - pretty much proved why you should be calling him president carter
emperor chi ft saigon and joel ortiz - black spartan
warzone - damn
steve o - crack cocaine, biggest joke of a song ever but funny i guess
jae millz - that cash, a banger get it
lox - close your eyes, not the best lox song however you know even if its sub par for them its still better than the majority of records out
royce - done talking (joe budden diss), get it
young chris ft peedi crakk - kill me
styles p - music
– also listening to the nigger mixtape by nas and dj green latern, so far its pretty dope theres a link to download it on www.onsmash.com
another good track for the car/gym
ya boy - money over here
No more new music?
The band equilibrium has a new album coming out i think the 17th
heres a track off of it
Equilibrium - Blut im auge
Soul Music:
I’m waiting for the new D’Angelo and Maxwell. Both are supposed to dropping albums like this year.
Maxwell’s is supposed to be a the first of 3 albums in 3 years.
Also, if you now who Bilal is, his new album, A Love For Sale, got canned because people posted it on the internet which is a shame because what I heard is tight. Anyways, you can download the whole unreleased album for like a buck fifty or free if you know how.
Anybody heard anything about that Erykah Badu that came out like a month or two ago?
I heard nothing about it, is it any good?

D’Angelo was looking pretty bad the last time I saw him in a newspaper. He damn near looked homeless…only with a lot to eat.
No idea if this has been mentioned yet or not but…
Nas’s new song, Hero, with Keri Hilson is incredible. Better than Hip Hop is Dead even.
Hear of Spankrock?
May be a bit too ‘club’ but sometimes if I’m in the mood it really makes me want to lift shit.
The beats are incredible (they are one Thom York’s favorite groups), and the lyricism, aside from being witty in context is quite dynamic in delivery.
Hope it hasn’t been mentioned.

For a place to start:
Lil Wayne - Lollipop Remix featuring Kenya West
is decent

Alright, I’m gonna play the asshole card without reading anyone elses posts incase you already got flamed for this making mine more useless then it will already be.
but…WTF MAN, Lil Wayne? Lollipop is not a song to liftweights to or drive fast to. I mean maybe if your a little 16 y/o effiminate boy who just got his liscense and wants to play that garbage in his car to impress chicks(this last bit sounds like what you’re saying). I think this may just be my hate for lil wayne coming out. But the guy sounds like he’s crying and bitching in all his songs even when he’s trying to play “gangsta.” By all means hustle for your money if you got a product that sells (lil wayne, unfortunatly).
Busta Rhymes and Breaking Benjamin are both pretty good though. I listen to them myself.

I honestly could care less about what anyone else thinks about my music choices. I still think Justin Timberlake can actually sing and someone else’s opinion won’t make me change mine. Granted, I will never actually buy a Lil’ Wayne CD, but there are some singles out there from him that I like…like Shooter with Robin Thicke.
I assume you judge songs like that one based on your like or dislike of the individual?
My musical taste (and talent) is broad. I am not easily locked down into one genre over another.
You, on the other hand, seem closed minded enough to be just like that.

yep mentioned it on the last page, have you heard his new song with khaled? seems like nas is blacking out on everything he’s getting on lately, and the beats are all nuts so hopefully untitled will be good
T.I.'s No matter what.
I think it bears repeating.
