They aren’t all in the same movie: it’s a collection of short films made over several years. The one with Kate Winslet and Hugh Jackman was made about four years ago.

That’s what I’m thinking. The overall cast, added with a not particularly funny trailer (which I’ve noticed to be indicative of actually funny movies - as they won’t give away “the good stuff” too early,) leads me to believe it could be pretty solid.
It’s anyones’ guess, but I was open-jawed at the cast at the very least.

I caught that preview yesterday, and at first I thought it looked fucking stupid like every other spoof-type comedy. But then I noticed the cast and came away thinking that there’s really no conceivable way it can be bad. It might not be the funniest thing ever made, but there’s no way it will suck. It will be at least a 7/10.
The fact that it is just a bunch of short stories thrown together is even better, because most comedies fall flat for me when they start to get too involved in their own stupid plots. Sketch and standup comedy is almost always 10000x better. The only way I can think of a comedy film being better is if the entire movie was a setup to some incredibly hilarious, piss-your-pants-laughing punchline. But I’m neither funny nor creative so I can’t really even see a way where that could be done.
I generally do not watch comedies in the theater any more because I think it’s a waste of money, since the big screen doesn’t really add a whole lot to the experience. But, this has me intrigued enough that I might make an exception.
