To all you Bourne Legacy haters:

Understand that Jason Bourne was never his name, it is an identity that Treadstone gives a particular agent. David Webb was trained and turned into Bourne. Jeremy Renner’s character will be trained and turned into Bourne.

It should be a good action movie, but I don’t think it will be as good as the first three.
So Wol I thought you did not read? Did you read the books?
I watched the DVD featurettes on the Bourne movies. Visual learner, son!

Damnit I was hoping. I read all the books. You missed out.

I can mail them to you.

Sure. And then I’ll mail you a letter that says “Did not read”

Sorry, DJHT.

Lol, to each his own.

I’m convinced that inside Ryan Reynolds there’s a decent dramatic actor fighting to get out.
Maybe Safe House is the movie where he leaves his smartass persona behind and chooses more challenging roles:

Safe House (2012) Trailer - HD Movie - Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds - YouTube
Have you seen Buried? Granted, the entire movie is filmed from inside a box, he plays a pretty decent role compared to his usual Van Wilder approach.

Yes. I rate his acting in that as the best of his career so far. He’s got the potential, but as you say, most of his roles are Van Wilder revisited.

I’m hoping that playing opposite Denzel will reign him in.

I know that REC 2 divided opinion, but here’s the trailer for REC 3 (it’s a prequel):

I hated Rec 2…at first…then I saw Quarantine 2…and hated it way worse…so now I don’t hate Rec 2 so much.

I’m sorry but there’ll always be one and only ONE JASON BOURNE.

Also the fact that they’ve used Bourne’s name to trick me into seeing that movie pisses me off. Bourne legacy (the book) wasn’t about Jeremy Renner either.

I feel cheated.

Robert Ludlum left reams of detailed notes about future books, especially the Bourne series, so they are taking those and writing books. Before this is “The Bourne Ultimatum”.

Its Hollywood DN, what do you expect.

LFMAO @ the picture, Derek!

Okay, I’ll stop.

Oh, I’ve missed this.

Now, I’m intrigued to know how the events in this movie will be linked to the possessed girl in the penthouse in Rec 1.

The Cabin in the Woods:

This is one of the movies Chris Hemsworth made before he was cast as Thor (the other being the remake of Red Dawn). It’s been sat on a shelf for over two years waiting for a release date, but the advance buzz is tremendous. There’s very little info out there, but it’s been said that the story plays with horror movie tropes in the same way that Scream did (except TCITW will do it in a more serious way)

…also pretty much everything I’ve read so far warns that it’s better to know nothing about the movie at all…the trailer isn’t giving much away.

One of the most interesting points about this is that Joss Whedon wrote and produced it, so he may have had a hand in getting Hemsworth the Thor gig (he auditioned once early in the casting process and was rejected, only to be given a second shot later on)…Whedon said that when he first met Hemsworth, he had the bearing and presence to play a super hero, but it was Cap, not Thor, that Whedon had in mind at the time.

I wonder how much Ludlum really left after his death…I think ghost writers (or whatever you call those writers that continue a story after the author’s demise) say that a lot but I am skeptical about how many notes these authors really left behind. I’m sure not as much as they say. Aren’t there like 5 or 6 Bourne books by Eric J. Lustbader? I doubt Ludlum left behind that many synopses for novels.

It looks interesting. I typically don’t see horror type movies because I think they are lame. I might check this out.

Beyond the Black Rainbow - has the potential to be utter crud or sci-fi’s answer to Drive. Either way a retro sci-fi movie set in 1983 can go places that contemporary sci-fi can’t, so it has my attention.

Aargh!! The trailer should’ve stopped right at 2.07. I hate trailer spoilers.

But nevermind. I’ll see this because I am now intrigued.

Haha. I’d like to see this too. Surprising that I’ve never heard of it.

Looks like a movie that’d drive short attention span people nut, lol. I like the look and feel of it. Even the haunting synth music makes me chuckle. Based on the trailer, I can already tell this may be one great fucked up flick. I’ll put it on my wish list.

Trust me when I say the trailer doesn’t give anything away. I read an interview with Whedon and he warns against trying to find out anything about the movie before seeing it. All I know is that it takes the cabin in the woods premise and turns it completely on its head.
