I also read Pitchfork.

The highest selling album in the 00s was a Beatles compilation album. I’m pretty sure that the Beatles are in the top 5 selling artists of the 00s as well [Eminem’s #1].

I guess I’m not shocked that the record label is going to milk this for all it’s worth. And while it may not work as well as it would have if he died ten years ago, I’m pretty sure with the way sales are declining- especially with younger people- it’s a pretty safe bet MJ ends up being one of the top sellers this decade. Can’'t blame the record labels for doing this; it’s a win win situation for all parties.
