I hope it’s better than amputechture. I think I listened to that album once, then threw it out. When considering the quality of Frances the Mute and De-loused, Amputechture shouldn’t even be considered a Mars Volta endeavor. I’ll get back to you when I pick the new one up.

Frances the Mute is some pretty quality work.
Particularly tracks 8-12 (fuck me who can remember those fuckers track titles)
Not the most hardcore of music around but an experience nonetheless.
I saw a video of theirs on Headbangers Ball a few weeks back. Can’t remember the name of the tune, it was spandex something or other? Anyway, it was about 3 and a half minutes of sheer insanity. Their drummer has some stamina.

Frances the mute was an epic CD. I like it because the entire thing tells a story, is intertwined, and comes full circle.

Frances wasn’t BAD per se, but there was way too much bullshit ambient non-music filler fluff. Come on, I (actually) paid money for a music cd, let me hear music dammit.
