This video is fucking insane. You gotta watch it numerous times to get everything that’s going on. This song grew on me. You were ahead of the curve on this one Larry
No doubt, I’m still trying to figure out all of the stuff. The director’s cut had more tit-tays, but the link I had isn’t working anymore. If I find a new one I’ll link to it here.

And yeah, I already like the beat but the song as a whole has grown on me as well. It was the only song I was listening to at the gym today. I hope Kanye hasn’t ruined his relationship with people who don’t like rap, because this song would sound great as the theme to some kind of sporting program, event, etc. I remember when they used Run This Town last year, but cut off his verse. Your stupidly awesome avatar set me of on a Keri Hilson google binge last night that sunk a whole night of planned work in one swoop, dam you lol. She has an awesome body!
Youre not alone

I was on the first page…loudly asking why super haterz were responding to this thread.
heh, That’s true and thanks. There were guys who didn’t listen to Kanye West, one guy who didn’t listen to modern hip hop, and one guy who seemingly didn’t listen to rap at all, all commenting for some reason. Ridiculous.

That line is GOLD. Maybe I’m a bit to critical of the lyrics on this, it is the lead single.

Thanks for the link, too. The directors cut is definitely better. I kind of feel like Kanye should do a regular music video as well, for the sake of playing the entire song when it’s on TV, but the moving portrait has gotten him so big publicity. It came out a few days ago and has almost 3 million views already.

Good call on Right Above It. Pretty good song for what it is -a lead single, and produced by the same guy that did ‘Bedrock’. Ransom’s been around for a bit over 2 years I think, but it’s a pretty good song too.

Lose My Mind is amazing. It got posted in the Rick Ross thread, too. I didn’t really like the Drake Remix, because Plies sort of killed that song the same way he killed Wasted. Check out All White Everything if you haven’t already.

I’ll contribute, one of the better tracks on the album.

EDIT- My bad, I thought this was the Rick Ross thread, still a good track tho.

Hey, what happened to all those Taylor Swift supporters?! I swear someone said she would outlast Kanye.

u srs?

I got nothing against Kanye’s music (I like it) so don’t take it as such (cuz peeps get butthurt so easily) but your statement is so goofy to think that either one is going to ‘fade’ anytime soon.

They’re both pretty young, at the tops of their games, and still have mucho fuel in the tank. Neither one is going away anytime soon.

The beat is so mean on “right above it”. It was just released a couple days ago and I thought it was supposed to be on Wayne’s “I’m not a human being” EP but showed up on Drake’s mixtape.

Had to bring Wayne in the conversation, as I think he is better than Kanye. A lot of people discredit him because they’ve only heard some of his sell out songs, like lollipop. The truth is, he is very talented; I’d put him up there with Em. They have two very different styles but I think most people would appreciate him more if they listened to his older stuff/mixtapes.

Everyone seems to forget Kanye is a beat maker/producer first. Unlike swift and Wayne who are strictly artist (not that there is anything wrong with that). If Kanye never gets on the mic again he will still be around.

But we all know his ego will keep him on the Mic as long as possible.

I didn’t know about a new Drake mixtape…is it an official one? I know he said he’s working on an R&B mixtape that’ll come out soon. Right Above It will still be on the I’m Not Human EP.

While I don’t have Wayne ahead of Kanye or at Eminem’s level back when Em was at his peak, I agree with the rest of what you said. Wayne’s actually got a very interesting character behind those punchlines he’s known for, and even for those that don’t like his lyrics his flow is easily the best in the game right now. There’s a reason he’s wanted for all of those guest verses–they know he’ll do the beat justice no matter what his lyrics actually say.

His mixapes are a must if you want to completely get the guy, and to hear his best work. Da Dought 3, The Drought is Over part 2, Dedication, Dedication 2, and No Ceilings are must haves. Drought 3 is probably one of my top 5 records of the last 10 years. Tha Carter 3 was dope, but what’s crazy is that the album wasn’t put together with the best cuts since most of them kept leaking, and are all over the Drought is Over series of mixtapes, sometimes in unfinished form.

I’ll never understand people calling him commercial filth, the little gremlin doesn’t sound anything like what an record label executive would cook up.

EXACTLY.

Kanye even if his rap career falls the fuck off one day will still be making beats for other rappers and singers. I could actually see Kanye doing something dramatic like retiring from rapping if people get him angry or something, lol.

This is nothing against Swift, as from what I’ve heard she’s pretty decent and very young so she could improve. However, she plays one kind of music, and hasn’t shown anyone that she’s capable of switching her style in the event of her getting stale. Whatever happened to James Blunt anyway? He sold a shedload for a couple of years.

Kanye’s got a reputation at this point for changing his sound even in the face a lot of flak [808s & Heartbreak], and not only surviving, but setting trends as to what kind of production is popular in hip hop. There’s no bigger game changer in hip hop than Mr. West.

It’s a pretty good song. Drake’s part of that song is kind of ehhh, but he had a great remix over that beat:

I think Rick took Drake’s verse off because he was worried about being outshined. Apparently Jay-Z did the same thing with Drake on Off That.

Have you all read some of these comments?:

Kanye West is Illuminati now?

People are stupid. They want to cling to any stupid conspiracy theory.

The imagery in this video is awesome. I just noticed the Sword of Damocles hanging over his head.

But see, I knew what that was when I first saw it. Some of those dumbasses make me wonder what the fuck school is even for now if this is the product.

^ trust me X you do not want to go there. The illuminati “Nuts” are worse than you can ever imagine. I even heard my sister church friends talk about him an Jay-Z being in it an satanist.

Nice you didn’t listen to song I posted. It has Drake’s verse added to it, that’s why it’s seven minuets long.
