New James Bond Guy - Not Too Shabby

Besides Connery I really liked Moore.
Lazenby wasn’t bad, he certainly had potential. Dalton was to nervous, too temperamental, he really reminded me more of the original Bond, but he was just too serious for the ironic undertone which was established with Moore and Connery.
Brosnan looked good on photos but he didn’t contribute anything new or original to the character. I consider him the weakest Bond. Perhaps because I don’t really like his 007 movies. Especially “Die Another Day” was scandalous.

Favorite vehicle: scaramanga’s junk from “The Man With The Golden Gun”.

Favorite Bondgirls: Lois Chiles, Jane Seymour and Diana Rigg
“Bambi” & “Thumper” were kinda hot, too.

I thought Lazenby did a great job. I’m not sure why everyone didn’t like him. Maybe because the end of the movie was such a downer compared to most light-hearted Bond BS.

Bond in the books is just a cold-blooded mofo. Dalton was closest to that characterization.

Connery is still my fav though. The only thing I hate are those speeded-up fight scenes from the early films. Was Sean too slow or something to show at regular speed?

this is bullshit, 18 inch arms are pretty fucking huge if you are less than 10% bf. roy jones jr had like 14inch arms for his fight with ruiz, your telling me 4 inches on top of that wouldnt be huge

if you are a fat slob, then no, they arent huge

Roy jones jr??? Why the fuck are you bringing him up? 18 is normally what normal not lifting people start concidering “huge”, but to bodybuilders it’s just “normal”. So don’t expect a bunch of iron heads to have orgasms when they see 18 inch arms.
RJJ in appearance seemed to have big arms until you break out the measuring tape, that is why i mentioned him

and are these clean iron heads you are talking about? im not some moralists who think people are bad for using test or GH, but that cant be compared to a clean guy

also, did arthur jones say he carried a tape with him and the only guy he truly measured over 20 was oliva

again, if you arent less than 10% bf, your arm measurement is kind of silly unless you are simply using it to gauge progress

This new guy looks pretty good. Let’s give him a chance.

  2. Anybody who says 18 inch arms are not big is a fucking idiot.

  3. Bond is a spy and not a powerlifter or bodybuilding bikini poser. He drinks martinis and gets all the pussy. He kills people. I like him.

  4. Saying he looks like a 7 year old girl is the most retarded thing I have read.

  5. Like another poster here wrote…I will bet that this guy looks better than 95% of the posters on this forum…

  6. Agreed.

  7. Measuring your arms flexed after you just pumped them up for several sets doesn’t count, kids.

  8. Again, he’s James Bond, not a superhero.

  9. Right. Think before you show your ass. But then my guess is that if you DID think, the ass showing would drop dramatically.

  10. Probably more like 98%.

They live thier little lives and little lives they live.
I read a post from one of the guys who attended the testfest… He says that there was nobody present who looked like he had seen the inside of a gym.
I find that statement a bit overzealous but probably not too far from the truth.
The thing is that t-mag is not a site frequenred by competitive bodybuilders as opposed to a forum that helps the average joe achieve thier goals.

If that is the case, then the average joe has made a habit out of excuses and pitiful results. Since I don’t compete, I guess I am an “average joe” as well. I know I don’t look average, however, and I was under the impression that most here had that goal. If not, maybe I am on the wrong forum after all of these years.

I must say, after seeing Layer Cake which sucked so bad and hearing the anorexic dude from that movie was the new Bond replacing Pierce Brosnan (too old what’s the age difference 5-10ys)I was disappointed but after Die Another Day maybe a change was needed. The dude has definitely come up physically as he looked to be about 140-150 before.

Slightly off track but have you ever noticed that a muscular person looks smaller on screen. I used to deliver room service to the WWF (It was a about 19 yrs ago) but it always amazed me that guys like Jake the Snake and Piper who looked like shit on tv actually looked in much better shape in person.

The only reason Lazenby wasn’t more popular was that he did one movie sandwiched in between Connery flicks. OHMSS was one of the best Bond movies in my opinion because it was way less “out there” with its plot and relied more on Bond being good at his job than being superhuman or having ridiculous gadgets.

As for Bond girls, I like them all except Richards without her mouth duct taped or that huge forehead woman from Octapussy.

James Bond movies still make money?

Uh, yea. Die Another Day, to the tune of $160 million. The highest grossing Bond movie and #120 highest grossing movie of all time.
James Bond ISN’T a bodybuilder. He’s a spy. Who said spys need to look like Ahhhhnold?

Plus, even Ian Fleming said Pierce Brosnan was the closest Bond to the actual character he created.

Ian Fleming died when Pierce Brosnan was 12 years old…

it is relative, you see them on tv around bigger guys

think about how small iverson looks on tv, in reality, he is bigger than the average man

on the other hand, football player look way bigger on tv sometimes than they do in real life because of the pads

i teach at FSU, and some of the players (WRs mostly)are way smaller than you would think

even Castillo who was the center is a lot smaller than i thought he would be(he was still BIG, but not as huge as i thought he would be)

Chris Rix was actually a lot bigger in person than he looked on TV

Evander Hollyfield looks small as hell in person. I saw Triple H training at my gym when the WWF came through Houston and that is one large bastard.

I certainly hope this comment did not include Dave Tate. In regards to the others, I cannot say, but I think Dave has been inside a gym once or twice.

Dam X, your Jacked!

No need for shorts, your quads look ridiculous in pants.

Back to Bond…

Hey, Im not saying he’ll be a good Bond. Did you know this guy can’t drive a stick shift and has to use a modified automatic Bond car? LOL…

Either way, just trying to prove a point that this guy aint too shabby for a hollywood movie nowadays. He at least looks like he can kick some ass.

Why would the Bond car even have a stick? Most recent sport/luxury models have electronic shifting anyway.
As a brit and a purist, you need manual.

I think most people know that Tate has some size on him. His picture has been posted here before.

Sean was the best Bond - but he definitely wasn’t ‘jacked’ (see pic)
I agree Bond doesn’t need to be jacked, but reckon better that he’s a little light than overweight. Just seems to suit the character.

I think George Clooney has the right kind of look for the Bond franchise, but there is some debate over his acting skills.

Clooney is the right type but he’s wrong for the specific role. There’s a dearth of actors in that category these days, to tie into that other thread.

What I was refering to with those wrestlers was not their size but their level of conditioning, they appeared much tighter having abs and vacularity which I would not have guessed from their tv appearances.

I remember a while ago Russell Crowe was ragging on the Bronson and saying he would like the role and could bring a certain machismo to it.

Side note after seeing a video of Crowe fighting in a bar fight , he looked like he could handle himself because he was doing better then his body guards at the time.

George Clooney is damn cool. And if Bond wasn’t an Englishman, I’d understand it. But seeing him with a British accent…ehhh

If you like his shirtless pictures a little too much, Mr. Connery is onto you

Bonds character isn’t the same unless he has his gadgets. It would just be an action film otherwise.
True, but shit happens. What if the “bad guys” catch you? Can’t depend on fancy gadgets can you? I’m not saying that bond should be just like an action movie star… but it should be a little more like the old ones. Simple gadgets used in ingenious ways, and a little more hands-on assault on the bad guys.
