I read a post from one of the guys who attended the testfest… He says that there was nobody present who looked like he had seen the inside of a gym.

I certainly hope this comment did not include Dave Tate. In regards to the others, I cannot say, but I think Dave has been inside a gym once or twice.
I was at testfest, and I’ve seen the inside of a gym. In fact, everytime I go to the tanning beds or to get my facial, I have to walk by all those muscly guys in the inside of the gym, they’re soooooooo weird…

Anyway, as for the obligatory James Bond comment, that last one was horrid, but I’ve never seen Halle Berry look better. Good grief…

think its an interesting topic…came across this other pic of Mr.Craig, think he looks in pretty good shape. Anyone got any ideas of the type of exercises his trainer woulda had him on?

Not an attempt to hijack, but can you post a link to this video ?
I can’t find it on Google.

Kind of like the young Sean Connery. He placed 3rd in the Mr. Universe in 1950. So looks like they are going back to a more realistic hero type and away from the girly-man. About time!

Also, there is no way your arms are 18.5" in that pic. Stop fooling yourself. They might be 17.5", but no way are they over 18.

Please notice arm size compared to head size or fist size. That’s the easiest way to tell…that you are wrong.
Most people on this site know that I rarely agree with Pro X, but Bro, I’ve got to go with Pro X on this one. There is no way your arms in that picture are 18". 17 and 1/2 at the most.

Are you out of your mind? Pretty good shape? He’s not big at all, and he’s barely lean enough to be concidered “in shape”. What do you concider “in shape” looking anyways? Visible abs? This guy looks like a peice of shit.

I thought this was a bodybuilding site…

Crap, that guys roughly my size. I guess i’m still a skinny bitch then.

And Pierce Brosnan’s Bond kicked more ass than any other.

its not realistic to have a huge bond, nor is it practical…

navy seals arent big…sometimes they are fairly muscular but for the most part they rarely hit 200lbs

its not practical too be big and be a spy/soldier

I was never a big Bond fan, but Brosnan seemed the best to me. Connery was too rough and tumble to be a Bond…I always thought of Bond as more of a pretty boy, more like Brosnan.

Dude,
reread the original post. nobody ever said this guy was in bodybuilding shape, or great shape. All most of us are trying to say that by HOLLYWOOD standards he looks good, and HE IS THE BEST BUILT BOND in history.

and I think T-Nation has become a little more than just a bodybuilding site.

I did not see it on the web but it happened in Oz or Nz and the owners tried to blackmail him with the video/ Some dudes started with him outside a pub and he was swinging like Phil Baroni. I saw it on one of the hollywood bs shows like Access.

Yes. I did misinterpret what was said and by whom.

I’ve seen pleanty of huge spec ops soldiers before. What would you do if you were on a boat for 4 years? That’s why most sailors sign up for BUDs anyways. As far as the other branches, bodybuilding is just a hobby in the military.

Me too.

watch the discovery channel buds program…no guy there appears much more than 175…some guys look alot less than that

they have a 5mile time limit of 30 minutes, think guys in the 230 range would typically make that? lol, no friggn way unless there way in excess of 6ft…

i don’t believe the military would want it’s soldiers too big for a variety of reasons…one is that it costs more to feed them, clean them, and clothe them…

I’m military and while not every soldier is big by a long shot, there are some who are which is what was stated.

Now if only they could make a good film

Special Ops soldiers,

This is an area that I have some experience with.

Rangers-Only after they get to about E6, and then if they are juicing (I know that the CSM of one of the Bats I worked with, when asked what the best thing for getting big arms (the guy was HUGE), he answered “A 12 week cycle”. Almost all the big guys who are clean also have the ‘ruck gut’ going on, also.

SF-Rarely will you see a large, and lean, Operator. Most of the big guys suffer from ‘runner’s syndrome’ (ie, a little extra around the middle).

Currently, most SOF (and infantry, for that matter) are spending about 1/3 of their time deployed (meaning: they are in combat, or threat of combat, daily). This is not conducive to getting ‘ripped’, what with the work schedule, the missed meals, the sleep ‘schedule’ and just general stress levels (it starts to knaw at you when you when you hear gunfire every 12 minutes or so, as one does when living in Bahgdad). The guys going through Q-Course can get pretty big (at least in Phase 2), but the general trend was more towards the endurance activities, that I witnessed.

SEALS-Very little experience (I have worked with a grand total of 3 different platoons <42 Swimmers> and 1 Delivery Boat Crew (don’t know the acronym), and a few SEALS who were in Bragg for the 18D course. Of those, I saw two big guys, and one GIANT. The big SEAL and the giant (boat crew) were both obviously juiced, not as bad as the guy on the shitty version of The Longest Yard, but still obvious. The other big guy, also Boat Crew, was from American Somoa, so go figure.

My understanding of the Navy and its offshoots, from talking to former members here, at school, is that some of the guys blow up on their floats (especially Pacific Fleet guys), due to the availability of drugs. The same thing happened in Iraq, with my battalion, we had some guys who just exploded (meaning gained 25+ pounds while working as a combat infantryman). Just maintaining bodyweight for the clean guys was often times difficult.

So I guess I am saying that the more time you spend in garrison (or equivalent like a boat), the higher your chance of getting big, cleanly. But if you are fighting, you better have some ‘help’.

One poster nailed it by mentioning the undertone of irony … Connery did it really well, so did Moore … they were also good at creating tension at times (remember the Spy Who Loved Me, the nuclear missile dismarming scene for example) … I felt like that was missing with Brosnan. But the ladies adored him, unfortunately. (the audience I mean)

Hopefully they can make some entertaining new movies though. Don’t know what they are going to come up with for gadgets, many of the old gadgets are household items now (if you want to go buy them).

Bond should never be hugely muscular, that’s what his opponents are supposed to be.

He did? Pretty cool considering Fleming died in 1964.
