Why what is going on this week?
Conan the Barbarian AND Fright Night.

The original Conan came out before I was even born, even the second film. Now I’ll have the chance to a Conan in theaters. Seeing Thor and Conan means more to me than you guys will know.

I was just fucking with you Wol and I did not realize you are not old enough to drink yet.

Enjoy my friend, are you going to see both? The more previews I see of Fright Night it actually looks pretty good.

That is frigging cool on several different levels.

Seeing some guy in the sticks of Texas talking about a compelling character like Conan - that lives in a completely different world and that he just thought up in his head - is amazing…
He didn’t just think him up in the movie. She asks him to tell her about his character Conan then Vincent D’Onofrio launches into an uncharacteristically badly-acted speech while losing control of his arms.

Not the best representation of the man or the character.
If you watch the entire feature, John Milius describes what kind of mental state of mind Howard was in when he wrote Conan.
I know what mental state REH was in from his writing and his suicide. My point is that the biopic doesn’t truthfully represent how tortured he was because it’s based on the memoir of a woman who had a brief relationship with him. The movie has a high rating on IMDb, but it’s categorized as a romance. I doubt the story explores REH’s dark side much.

I’m 25, I’m just as old and beaten down as you and everyone else in Threadkiller.

I’m trying to decide on which to see at midnight. Probably Conan. We live in a sissified culture and Conan needs my money.

I’ll see each twice.

I wasn’t defending the Robert E. Howard movie, I was just showing you info about Howard in a Conan behind the scenes feature.

Man I think they should have let Oliver Stone go with his idea’s for Conan, he was comparing it to Bond. Every couple of years coming out with a new movie.

Damn somebody fucked up.

 According to Hallowed I am an old soul across 72 universes or something or other.

I want to see Conan, have to work on the wife to swing that one.
I just hate going to the movies opening night, to many fucktards who cannot appreciate movies and just go to eat a shit ton of food and try to get into some chicks panties.
Also it never fails some “stellar” parents take there two year old to see Conan.

I prefer Sunday or Saturday 10:45 am matinee’s I can enjoy my movie in peace.

I missed the “maybe he’s born with it, maybe it’s Maybelline” debate about the eyeliner, but Momoa said he refused make up on set because a barbarian wouldn’t use cosmetics.

Momoa also got one of his friends to break his nose in “preparation” for the role. Can’t fault his commitment.

If the nose breaking is true - he’s earned my respect for his maybelline wearing azz and I’ll go see it.

Wol - got your work cut out for you. Get the LMGTFY and find some proof. lol

You have an excuse, so I can’t fault you, DJHT. But what better bonding experience could a father share with his son than taking him to see an R-rated movie where a barbarian murders and pillages across the world. AND becomes a king.

If I go it will be with the oldest step son, him and I went and watched Cap.

The wife likes these movies, kind of gets her in the mood. Go figure. She just hates going to the movie theater for all the things I listed above.

Momoa talks make up and nose-breaking in this interview:

The facial scar is real as well. He got glassed in a bar while working on Stargate in 2008. I suppose a broken nose doesn’t seem so bad after that.

Okay Roy I watched it no mention of nose or makeup. Still interesting though well we all now know he will not see us on here, dude has not PC, Email, cell phone etc.

I’m sure your wife is a GREAT lady and I mean this in the nicest way possible…but her opinion is not needed.

Take your sons to this movie. And if the woman wants to go, then have her buy a ticket and wait in the car.
