My only concern is that a true Conan movie was always going to be a double-edged sword.
Robert E. Howard directly engendered the sword and sorcery genre of movies through Conan. All of the '80s barbarian movies like Beastmaster were Conan imitators. All of them.
Unfortunately, that means a modern commercial Conan movie is open to genre cliches, like the gay emo rock trailer soundtrack Wol talked about earlier.

I totally agree. When it comes to genre cliches, witch fucking, limb hacking and gratuitous nudity should be the basic story points every aspiring Hollywood writer should form a script around. Kull the Conquerer didn’t have any of these and it was shit.
