Done, my 2 hour exercise physiology lab exam drained me mentally, just didn’t have much energy, but still got it done. Got one more tomorrow and i am finished.
Squats:15510,1555, put suit on2552,3052,3452,put belt on 3952,4351,4851 added knee wraps 5251(pr),5451(pr)
525 about 45secs in
545 about 45secs in
Deads:2553,3052,3451,3951, added belt4351, added wraps4851,525*1(pr without straps)
525 about 40 secs in
Done, good session. I hit several prs and the squats are getting easier now that i’ve mentally overcome the 500lb barrier. I seem to have found the sweet spot so to speak for the groove i need. Deads went well, forgot my singlet and the bar did catch my shorts a little.
Hey man, good work in here! One thing though, your squats are probably about 2" from parallel. Are you still trying to break in the suit and its causing you trouble hitting depth?
Good stuff going on in here man. Do you use a single-ply suit? And raw on deadlift, correct? Oh, and why exactly do you train squat and DL on the same day? I never tried that because I’d be worried about not being strong on deadlifts, but obviously there is something to it if you’re doing it.
Thanks pb, for the meet i’m doing i am very close to where i need to be. I’m not trying to go below parallel like they do in usapl, but just to parallel according to the worldpowerlifting congress rules. For that I am very close to that depth requirement now, i also will have a handler calling my depth at the meet as well. Admittedly i was not close at the beginning of my training cycle. I still am not able to reach depth in the suit with anything lighter than 500 or so without breaking my form. The first time i took 500 in the suit i almost lost it twice and i pitched forward hard because i didn’t stay tight enough. Didn’t put up the video for that.
xjustice, thanks dude and yeah it’s the single-ply super centurion suit. You know i tried to use my briefs for the deads, while i definitely had some pop off the floor, i had to lose tightness to get to the bar and thus had alot of trouble locking it out. So raw it is.
There are a couple of reason why i train them on the same day, one, it makes the rest of my week easier, all i have to do is get my accessory work in and recover, two i get to have someone who has been powerlifting for a very long time coach me through the lifts, and the main reason is because i’ve never done a meet or trained squat and dead heavy on the same day. I have done DE squat and dead, but not ME stuff. I think scot yard at efs does squat and deads on the same day as well.
As for not being strong on deads after squats, there is some truth to that. But if you’re going to do a meet, it makes sense to train them both on the same day because that is what you do on meet day. But if you’re just trying to get stronger and bigger, it would probably be better to just train them on seperate days to give them your entire focus.
Yeah man that makes sense because you do in fact do them on the same day of a meet. Good luck at the meet man.
BTW, do you have any idea of the extent of the discrepancy in strength on the DL after squatting as apposed to doing it separately? It probably varies from person to person, how heavy you squatted, etc., but I’d love to hear your opinion.

For me personally it definitely takes some away from my leg drive. It really depends on how hard the squats are and how much volume i did. For this last workout, i felt pretty good, but i was more mentally fatiqued than physically fatiqued. But at the beginning of the cycle it was both. If i had to give a number i would guess maybe 10-20% give or take depending on what i did.
Ink, i stalled big time on the 325, and i had to grind out the 315 a bit. Hopefully next week though.
Thanks Pch, this log serves as a sorta journal of my thoughts at times as well.

Done, i stopped short of failure and just focused on getting in the work and focused on form and feel. Saw Green lantern and it was awesome. Gonna go see transformers next week. Thor looks like it is going to be good as well. Looks like i have some good movies to go see in the coming weeks.

Well, the 315 “looked” smooth, but i’m not the one on the bench!
Thor is good, you’ll like it, me thinks. I might see Transformers tomorrow if I get off work early[/quote]
Thanks ink, what i meant was the bench was one of those it looked smooth on video, but wasn’t at time of doing kind of thing.
Whoops i made a typo, there really are alot of good movies coming out this summer, i meant captain america looked good. Already saw thor and that was awesome.
