Needle Question

I just picked up some pins from a needle exchange. The pickings were slim.

I got a box of BD 100 3ml 25g 5/8"
But I also got some replacement pins
18g 1.5" and 23g 1"
Some alcohol swabs
And I have BD sharps container for disposal

Just wondering if I could use the 5/8 pins. They seem a bin short but thinner then the 23g. Will be using the 18 for drawing.

Thought I would ask anyways as I am not a big needle fan. Not scared but just creeps me out a bit.

yea that would probably be fine for delt, arm, trap injects or others depending on bf%

Depending on how much oil you plan to shoot and into which muscle, you may be able to use 5/8. This is strictly my opinion but I probably wouldnt use a 5/8 in the glutes with anything more than 1ml. Using a 25 may become a little bit of a hassel depending on where you’re injecting because it takes a decent amount of pressure to get the oil through.

I dont think it would be the worst thing in the world if you tried out the 5/8 or the 1" and found some oil leaking through the skin because it wasn’t deep enough. You can always order some needles (without the syringe) from an internet site.

Watch how many times you put that 18Ga through the same stopper. They can turn them into swiss cheese rather quickly.

I personally wouldnt think about using a 5/8 pin to inject.

I will know what the concentration of the oil is when I pick it up. The shots will be in the 1 ml range I am sure.

I have used 5/8 for my shoulders and probably could get away with it in my quads. But I have a shit load of 25g 1" that I use for glutes and quads normally.

Question in the same vein…

Im wondering exactly what types of needles are needed to complete a simple Test E cycle with taper, somewhat complicated by the fact the gear is in a sachet.

Im thinking about picking up a box of 100 3mL 25g 1". For the test taper it seems its best to use slin pins, but what should I be picking as far as gauge/length? They seem to range from 27g~31g and 1/2" to 5/8".

Im also picking up a couple 20 ml syringes to transfer the oil, but im wondering if the 25g needles are going to be suited to drawing up that much oil? I dont really want to buy a box of 100 18g needles.

Thanks for any suggestions, tips, etc.

For slin pins i use 29-31…

For IM i use 21-25…

I usually use 1/2" for slin pins and 1-1.5" for IM.

I really dont think it has to get much more complicated than this - i have been injecting for many many a year, and i rarely worry about such things…

green and blue tips, long, for oils…

standard microfine slin pins, BDU100 - whatever gauge comes to hand is always between 29-31g. Good enough for a vein, let alone SC IMO.

I know someone that uses 18g …and says its just fine. You just need to get use to it. I looked at him like he as nutz and said. Are you trying to harpoon a whale. He just laughed.

Yeah, 18g is a fat pin. I don’t even like to draw with those things because I’m afraid of boring a hole in the rubber.

Its true… i have stuck a 21g in a vein before (very messy)… but the reason you use the smallest size possible for the area/product is because you want to cause as little damage as possible.

It is better to use a 23G than a kebab stick for example…

better a kebab stick than a knitting needle…

now thats a scary thought …im going to limp to bed after reading that

whats the medical reference a masochists?

I use a 30G 0.5" 1cc. Being on HRT it’s important to reduce scar tissue. I also use lower dosages which makes it more practical.

I’ve used an 18G to draw about 4 times total. The 3rd and 4th time finding that chunk of rubber floating around in my oil was enough to stop me from ever using an 18 again.

Ditto. I used an 18g once during brewing, and it left chunks in the oil. 21g and up (in guage) only.

5.0, that reminds me -

between your thread, the kitchen from SM and a good friend from here on the phone, my own batch of eq went beautifully.

You may be interested to know that i DIDNT heat the BA/BB/BU solution - i just stirred it, and added the oil… then just heated that.

Nice.

Thanks

Hey, great! I figured it may not be necessary, given the BU’s already in liquid form. What final concentration did you brew?

Just 200 - i WAS playing with 400, but as it was my first ever - i thought i would play it safe… it is as smooth as cream-pie mate!

Check ya PM in a min

I use insulin pins in my tris and bis for ed injections. 5/8 would be fine for either or shoulder. If ur not lean though I would stay away from slin pins. I have very low BF all the time so I can get away with it.
