Remember that trying too hard is a killer every time. The worst part is, if you overcompensate by trying too hard not to try hard, you end up doing something flippant like opening a conversation with memes. It sucks to get rejected. Not everyone finds growing up awkward and hard, but I did, and I used drugs and alcohol to fit in - which I did, until it consumed my life and nearly destroyed me. All that’s in the past for me, and all this will be in the past for you.

I hit up a cute girl 2 days ago through dm on insta. I had a small convo and flirted with her, then sent a lil joke last night. She always responded (showing signs of interest). I’m lost rn. How do I get to her to open up. How do I break the ice? Without forcing it.

Also, there are a dozen reasons why she didn’t respond, including things like her phone going dead, her parents confiscating it, she lost it, etc. Don’t freak out when she doesn’t respond for a while.
Have you learned the 3 A’s for conversations? Attention, Acceptance, Approval. All people want attention, especially women, so you just have to pay attention to them and listen without trying to inject your own experiences and story. They also want acceptance, so they need to know their opinions and stories and stuff are OK and they won’t be rejected because of them. Don’t call their opinions stupid or anything like that (even if they do seem stupid.) And they want approval, meaning they want some form of validation they are good human beings. Approval can be as simple as saying “hey, you’re pretty cool for helping out your mom” or something like that. The 3 A’s go a very long way to getting a date, keeping dating, and getting laid.

Kids here have been out for a month. I keep finding out about kids being in till early to mid June. It’s crazy.

I assume you start back up in August? We start back after Labor Day. In college, we started back up at the end of September.
Nope, we start after Labor Day. After Labor day and before Memorial Day. I’ve been out of high school for a year but my old one, the other two in town, and several surrounding us do it that way. We also live in S.D. and typically get several, if not many, snow days.
Interesting… my sister in law teaches in SD. She got out, like you said, at Memorial Day. However, she starts mid-August.

Oh cool. Most people have barely heard of SD, let alone know someone who lives there 
Think there’s some schools that just go year round with a couple weeks off in the summer and winter. Seems to vary a lot.
So when should you ask a girl out. I’ve been texting one since june 7 like every other day. She responds fairly quickly and even texts at night.
