I have been going gym for almost 9 years but proper training, I would say 3 years. Furthermore, tracking macro’s etc about 6 months.
I have been vegetarian for about 2 years now, I lost most my gains during the transition trying to figure out what works for my body and what doesn’t. So I would say I made most my gains in the last 1.5years (coinciding with my TRT).

How do you get in enough protein as a vegetarian to support the level of muscle you have? Do you rely on powders/supplements?
Ah inevitable protein question.
Protein is so over-rated its unbelievable. I know that is shocking to say on a bodybuilding forum where protein is basically touted as the be all and end all, but high protein diets are the most unhealthiest and biggest BS ever.
Anyway, I only get around 140-160g of protein a day and that is easily achieved through 1 shake, quinoa, lentils, cheese and tofu. I don’t want to get into a debate but a high carb (starch) with medium protein and low fat diet is the way to go… for me. I think we overlook all the other factors that come into play with diet such as digestion, enzymes, food group combinations and micronutrients.
I went vegetarian because my stomach just couldn’t handle meat anymore, I was constantly sick and every 2 to 3 weeks I’d get the worst stomach aches, so I kept eggs in my diet and after getting sick of those, I dropped them too.
I weigh 190lbs, I would say 7-8% bodyfat. I want to drop another 1-2% for my holiday at the end of this month and then when I get back I’m going to do a nice slow bulk with some EQ at 200mg/wk.

That’s awesome. I wasn’t trying to open a can of worms at all-- more that I’m struggling with diet myself and am curious about what people do who manage to maintain great physiques. I have never been able to tolerate huge amounts of protein and so I’m always looking for new ways to tweak my macros.
I’m currently eating about 38% carbs, 34% protein, 28% fat, with the bulk of those carbs from starchy/grain sources like rice, barley, farro, etc. Just out of curiosity, what’s your rough % of carbs?
This. My wife is from India and is a vegetarian and is fairly shredded and jacked. She’s won two figure shows and looks amazing. I only eat probably 225 g a day of protein and that’s at 240 pounds right now. Everyone is different. I’m pumped to see your success man! Keep it up.
Totally agreed, a better and more efficient digestive system = more gains in the long run.

It’s so funny because I have the exact opposite reaction to the protein/carbs situation. Just reinforces the idea that we are not all the same and there is no one size fits all solution. I like that you have found something that works for you because that is the only standard by which you as an individual can measure the success of a diet. It’s a good lesson for anyone who’s new to working out and dieting. We shouldn’t find what works for the biggest guy at the gym, we should find what works for us.
100% agree. I build through carbs, I barely pay attention to protein intake. Your protein intake is probably about like mine… hell, I’m pretty sure i have days when I don’t even get 100g of protein. I weigh 200 lbs.
Refreshing to hear others have similar experiences. I tried the low card high fat approach for years and every time I dropped my carbs I withered away.
I agree every body is different, however coming from a biology background its not difficult to see carbs are the main nutrient needed by the body.
Also, you look epic! Keep shoveling down those carbs.

SB sorry to revive an old thread but I just joined this site because of your posts documenting your low test p and masteron protocol . Your results are outstanding !
I am on trt and I’m also using test p and mast at a very low dose …I just acquired some primo and was wondering what your thoughts would be in regard to running 8 mg test p and 8 to 10 mgs of primo as opposed to masteron …I’ve also tried tren at a very low dose and my body responds well to it however I quit because of hair line and mood issues.
What current protocol are you running in regard to trt doses ?

I do not have any experience running Primo. I try to steer clear of anything that affects the hairline, just as you experienced hairloss with Tren, so did I.
I’m currently “blasting” so I’m running around 20mg of test p and 10mg mast p per day, roughly. Weekly totals are ~120mg test p and 80mg mast p. I intend to add some Tbol in within the next 2 weeks.
I am the heaviest I have ever been at 191lbs, want to push that to 200lbs by the end of this blast which will last around 8 weeks in total.

What TT does 120mg get you to, for me I’d probably get to 550ng/DL, I wouldn’t call that a blast. Do you respond really well to low doses of test or something? @Singhbuilder
I respond best to lower doses yes. I also like to keep the doses at an amount where I do not need to control E2.
I cant deal with the rollercoaster of E2 shooting up then increasing AI to kill E2 down to nothing. I currently still use Adex, but at doses of 0.125mg x2 a week plus 10mg Tamoxifen per day.

Thanks for taking the time to respond I really appreciate it …I’m 200 lbs now and looking to go the other way and drop ten to fifteen pounds and get back to 185 which is the weight I was when I started trt.
I’m in the same boat as you are …I respond better to lower doses and I have a brutal time controlling e2. I have incorporated low dose masteron and proviron in the past in lieu of using an AI.
One last question …when u discontinue your current blast what is your thoughts on what dosage has worked best for you from a longevity standpoint incorporating health, libido, strength aggression in the gym etc?
Will you go back to the 8mg test p and 8 mg masteron daily or do you use a slightly higher dose ?And with this lower dose protocol do u completely eliminate an AI and only use ai’s when blasting?

So do you also run low doses of mast with TRT? If so, what’s the purpose of using it, shouldn’t test alone do the trick? Is it related to sensitivity to E2 related sides? I’ve always been curious about masteron, it’s an interesting compound. Very similar in structure to proviron (proviron is 1-methyl-dihydrotestosterone) and masteron is 2-methtl-dihydrotestosterone yet somehow the difference in where the methyl group is placed dictates whether the hormone is broken down in muscle tissue by the 3-HSD enzyme. Interesting stuff, anyhow is the reasoning for masteron use due to estrogen related side effects on test or is there something else to it, it’s anabolic potency seems to be mild, it’s androgenicity seems to be relatively strong, libido maybe?
The dosage that works for me is around 8mg each of test prop and masteron everyday. At that dose I will discontinue the adex but continue with the Tamox. I do not know if the tamox could potentially get natural LH secreting at such a low exogenous dose but theres no harm in keeping it in there. Its something @physioLojik recommends.

I do run mast alongside my TRT. To be honest, the original reason was to avoid the PIP from the test prop jabs. But now, I feel it just helps to keep me tighter, drier and more vascular.
I cant say if it affects my libido much, which is has been fine while on TRT.

Ok thanks for the reply …that is in the ballpark of the dosages I’ve been running …I was doing 10 to 12 mgs of prop a day with 6 to 8 mgs of mast but I’m going to drop it further to 8 mgs of prop and see how I feel
I am familiar with tamoxifen can I ask why he recommends 10 mg a day ?Is it for water retention as well ?
