Just FYI, I pulled BW on the snatch my first time lifting any weight. I lifted a quater inch pipe for about 2 weeks prior to that. Its not really that big a deal if you have a decent strength base.
yeah not a big PR by any means. But i dont see this dude going too far past it coach-free. It just seems to be a plateau area for people without a coach or whos coach might as well not be there. esp at the 88kg bw where you have a poorer power ratio in the beginning.

True enough. 1.5 is the big milestone for coached lifters it seems.
Christ, I’m 5’6 sitting at 85kg…competing season starts in like a month, gotta make it down to 77kg…comoooooooon 300 sinclair.
I hear ya I’m on my merry way to under 88kg at 92kg now. was 96kg 2 weeks ago. Let’s goooooo regressive Ketogenic!

Why are you guys cutting down weight? How tall are you guys? What do you want to achieve? Qualify for the nationals?
Theres no real reason to drop bw unless you have a lot of fat or want to qualify for nationals. Dropping that much weight is more often then not going to hinder your strength and power.
1.5x bw Snatch is heavy. Anything past 110kg is heavy imo and if your less then 90kg it feels a lot heavier.

I think you are a troll. What part of Oregon are you in? If you want to become good, look up Tom Hirtz and Heavy Athletics. Secondly, if you are missing warm up weights, you are doing something seriously wrong.

I dont usually lift at +90kg [or do anything for that matter]. thing is I used to lift at 85kg and then i went traveling for 3.5 months came back at a POW-like 79kg.
I knew i had to get my body weight back up to make any kind of headway in lifting so i ate my ballsack off over christmas and january and managed to gain a ton of weight and get a lot of my old strength and muscle back, up to 95kg.
So i decided now that I had some variety of anabolic base and strength base back along with a normal metabolism again [the biggest issue] it was time to cut some fat out. It’s working good so far. I find that lifting at about 12% BF feels nice to be. I should be there by the end of may or sooner.
Then I will get up to provincial qualification. then maybe nats.
