I don’t wanna sound sarcastic but I had colonic irrigation and that took nearly 7 kilos out of me in one sitting. I’m 132 kilos and 6f6. I have to assume heavyweights might have plenty of “excess” sat there that could be shifted like that.[/quote]

You started an account on here a year and a half ago, and waited this long to post for the first time, only to share that you had colonic irrigation? That’s fantastic.

Big Al, great job man! Sounds like you’re really doing a great job. Keep it up!

ha-ha. Yeah, well you gotta start somewhere and today I happened to have read this. Long time lurker.

I’ve started for Keto yesterday. I’ve never been big on specific diets - just smart eating but incidentally, I power-lift (miserably) and I’d like to get to 120kg. I’ve always managed that through hard cardio only so I’m taken a more detailed approach.

excuse me for hijacking your thread TS

Diet update

Weight this morning 266 pounds that’s a loss of 32lbs so far. 5 weeks to go for the meet my weight class is 264 so I am confident of getting there.

I have decided that my medium term plan is to get down to 238 so I have a weight buffer and then clean bulk to stay within that weight class.

The meet is a novice meet and my first one my maxes yesterday were as follows:

Squat 385
Bench 320
Deadlift 595

Not great but ok as I only started training in January. I know my squat is behind but I haven’t been able to train it for 4 months due to a quad tear.

I am loving this journey!!

These are great updates and inspiring weight cut.
I’ve been trying some Keto dieting and I’m about a week in, though I need to drop my calories gradually. I like the idea of dropping several kilos.

Your numbers are your own challenge but for only a few months training that is good going man! My squat is pitiful for my size; most of us have weaknesses.

Good luck.

Great work as usual. Keep it up.

Quick update

4 weeks to meet - meet prep training starts today and I have a head cold! Oh well, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!

Weight 262 pounds so under comp weight. The plan is to tray and lose another 3-4 pounds then increase my calories the two weeks prior to the meet so I am not depleted. I’ll let you know how it goes!

Another quick update:

the meet is this weekend!

weight 258lbs that’s a loss of 40lbs so far. I am down from around 35% body fat to around 22% now so I am quite pleased.

I have decided that I am going to get down to 242 then start eating a surplus again to gain strength and muscle but stay in the 262 weight class

That’s awesome dude! It’s great to see you making so much progress so quickly!

Wow, this is awesome. Glad I checked your thread out; good luck coming up.

Look forward to the results.

Nice work. Good luck at the meet!

Nice job with the weight loss. Good luck at the meet!

Where is the meet your competing in?

Congratulations on the significant weight loss.

Hi all so had the meet Saturday results as follows:

Squat 185kg (407 pounds)
Bench 145kg (319 pounds)
Deadlift 267.5kg (590 pounds)

First place in the novices so pleased as only been lifting for 8 months.

Not too bad after this weight loss - I know my squat needs to catch up but after injury I only trained it for 6 weeks prior to the meet. I’ll keep you all posted!

The plan now is down to 242 then start getting stronger again!

Congrats on the results! Good job sticking to the plan.
