NE Patriots v. NY Football Giants

Steelers fan here, giving MASSIVE RESPEKT to Patriots for the win.

Congrats to all for re-writing the record books:

New England Patriots - NFL single-season record for points scored 589.
Tom Brady - NFL single-season record for touchdown passes 49.
Randy Moss - NFL single-season mark for touchdown receptions 23.

Considering that all of the records were broken at the last game against a tough opponent made this game truly special. All this despite TKO’s $5 CAD Bounty on Brady & Co.

Remember this awsome thread?

Again MASSIVE RESPEKT!

I hate how commentators can’t stop sucking Tom Brady off. Yes, he’s ‘pretty.’ Yes, he is very fucking good (I mean really fucking good). Despite his appearance he’s extremely tough, can take a hit etc. BUT HE IS NOT THE ONLY REASON THE TEAM IS GOOD. That O-line is damn good. He has ALL DAY to throw the ball a lot of the time. And the players around him are no slouches. I’m sick and tired of talking heads saying he’s the best thing since sliced bread.

NE fans suck. Especially one of my good friends whose a bandwagoning bastard.

Since the pats are already ‘one of the best teams ever’ (and they are), if they lose… what does that mean?

The Pats look really vulnerable to a couple of teams. Basically a team with a strong running game to keep that offense off the field, a hellatious (sp?) pass rush, and a hard nose secondary that can push those recievers around seem like they could grind out a win.

My Chargers will come up with the biggest upset in NFL history.
To answer your question what happens if they lose (in my oppinion) then it’s just like any other season where you don’t win a super bowl: it’s a failure. A perfect regular season is just a stat record, nothing more.

I don’t see the chargers going far in the playoffs this year. The only team they beat that is heading into the playoffs is the colts and I’d call that the reason they won’t go far. You can argue they won that game, but it was pathetic. They won by two points with Manning throwing SIX interceptions. If the end score is +2 points with 6 turnovers… I’d say something is seriously wrong. Their defense can’t match up with a good receiving core and their passing game is practically non-existent.

You throw together the fact that Tom Brady is without a doubt the most “clutch” player in the league, his new receiving core and defensive additions, but most importantly the team plays SIXTY MINUTES of football and I think they can’t be stopped.

Tom Brady took them to the AFC championship game last year with one of the leagues worst receiving cores… what do you think he’s going to do this post season?

And gatesoftanhauser… what’s with every football thread that I read you always seem to comment on how the commentators (regardless of which broadcast station) have major “fellatio” for someone. Did you figure out what that word meant this season and now feel you need to take advantage of your ever growing vocabulary?

Good close game. This is the kind of game that I like to watch.

That eye poke deserves a suspension.

I agree however, with their overall schedule.

Anyway…

Does anyone know the name of the song they’ve been playing going into commercial breaks?

The one with the bagpipe sounding music… I’ve heard the song before and I like it, but have no idea what the name is or who the artist is.

Thanks for that.

I’ve never seen a more disgusting display of favoritism and one sided commentary than this game. EVERY chance they had inbetween plays they showed Tom “leave my pregnant girlfriend for a supermodel like a dickless teenager” Brady sitting on the sidelines. It was truly disgusting. CBS’ fellatio skills have officially hit a new high for the NE Patriots.
Are you seriously angry at the guy for leaving his girlfriend?

Personally, I think if it’s not working out there’s no reason to subject the child to that. Children pick up on the angst, anger, resentment, arguments, etc… even if it’s done behind closed doors. Why have two unhappy parents? As long as he plays a role in the childs life, who the hell cares and why are YOU the one crying about it?

He’s fucking awful.

I seriously think they should have won that game.

And yeah, the inordinate amount of dick sucking that goes on while talking about Tom Brady is absurd.
I knew the Giants had lost after the second drive by the Patriots in the 3rd quarter when they scored a TD… It just looked too easy for them to get down the field and score. And then when they ran two very similar plays back to back to get Moss into the end zone, I could just see the Giants deflate.

That and I knew Eli would throw a pick… Although I think it was Plaxico’s fault, he still threw it.

3 out of 5 of their linemen are pro bowlers, along with many of his receivers. Sure he is good but he has all the tools almost any quarterback could be good with his tools.
Are you seriously saying the only reason he’s good is because he has great WR’s and a great O-Line?

Last night two of their starting O-Line were out. Last year he had 0 WR’s (unless you count Troy Brown who played just about every position except for Center). They did pretty well on both occassions.

Was it an eye poke or was it a point that went through the face mask? They kept calling it an “eye poke” but I couldn’t see anything where he actually poked him.

It was uncalled for.

I dont know how you can be so pissed at eli this game. He through 1 interception but still kept the team in the game and at no time dod the giants throw the game away (they lost by 3 did ya watch the game?). He looked great this game and yes you could make this post about most of the other games hes played but this is just fucking stupid after he had an amazing game.

I used to say the same thing about him and the oline early in the season. And yes they are great but if you watched the game tonight you can see he was getting hit just about every other play. Maybe he didnt get sacked but thats because he gets the ball out quick and always knows where his receivers are gonna be. You cant chalk this win up to the O-line he had pressure on him for most of the game.

I agree. Eli played one of his better games this season. I’ll take 22-of-32 with 4 TDs and 1 INT every week. This performance should give the G-Men confidence going into the playoffs.

This was a joke right? Ofcourse he was trying to poke him in the eye, theres no other reason you would do that. He probubly deserves a suspension or to at least have gotten thrown out of that game but what ever.

Too close to the eye to consider it anything other than an intentional eye poke in my opinion. Let’s see how the NFL deals with it.

I won’t speak for rrjc, but I hate watching Eli because when time is running out and he needs to put points on the board, he lacks any sense of urgency or focus, and just looks like he’s waiting for someone tell him what to do. He’s the damn quarter back, it’s his job to lead the offense down the field, and when every second counts he needs to step up and get the job done.

It reminded me of a game they played earlier in the season, maybe it was last time they played the Cowboys, and Eli got two delay of game calls. Watch the fucking play clock retard. You might be able to get the defense to jump offsides with that long snap count shit, but most of the time it just works against the offense.

Absolutely understand and had this post been about ANY of the other giants games this season I probubly wouldnt care. But these posts refering to how bad he was last night are just fucking stupid, lack of urgency or focus? Like the lack he had when he led the team down the field to a touch down in the last 2 minutes of the half and the last 2 minutes of the game? How about the fact that they didnt kick one Field goal this game, everytime they got into the red zone he got them into the endzone. He sucks in alot of games he plays but not this one.

I didnt check to see if you were the one I quoted earlier so if you arnt I’m not disagreeing with you about these points but someone who says he looked like shit and threw the game away last night, wasnt watching the game.

I was at work so I didn’t get to watch every play, but I saw an awful lot of time tick off the clock in the last 3 minutes of the game, and he didn’t seem to care or think it was think it was his job to take charge of the situation. He got the touch down, but they needed more than 7 points.

Really? You’ve never poked someone in the middle of the forehead?

It tends to piss people off very quickly. To assume it was intended to be an eye poke is absolutely ridiculous.

Its not easy to do. Your better off losing a few seconds and having everyone on the team understand the play then throw a pick because someone did the wrong route, or get a sack because the line didn’t know what they were doing. I honestly dont think that 2 minutes to go down the field (i dont remember where they were but it was in their territory probubly around the 30) and score isnt that bad without using a timeout. He also got no help from ppl like jacobs, who could have easily gone out of bounds on at least 1 play but decided to pick up an extra yard. Or the back up center who kicked the ball a few yards, which took 5 seconds to reset by the refs.

I dont know how you would know that he wasnt taking charge unless you work on the field because he was still getting people into position, and getting the plays to everyone and calling “hike”. What was I missing? They needed 2 scores they got into the endzone and then it was up to the special teams to get the onside kick…its too bad that eli fucked that up too…
