Ncsugrad's TRT Log / Diary

Good to know @dextermorgan … very very similar to mine.

I wonder why mine just says >1500 for TT and doesn’t give an actual value? I’d really like to know whether it’s 1501 or 2500. Weird.

You have to get the LC/MS Assay test versus the ECLIA method to get an accurate reading below 150mg/dl or above 1500mg/dl. At least through Labcorp, I’m not sure on other labs. Its a more expensive test.

Ah ok, makes sense. Good to know

Yeah that’s right. I got both.

Here’s my lab results just so I have them all in one place.

After some exchanges with @dbossa I believe I’m going to try a slightly higher dose (200mg/day vs. 150mg/day) and go ahead with ft3/ft4/rt3 thyroid testing since my TSH keeps going up

Just so you have them here’s a list of a full thyroid panel minus total T3 & total T4

What are the last two checking for @dextermorgan ? I need to read about those, haven’t seen much about them

They show things like autoimmune diseases like hashimotos

Good to know

They are important. If insurance is paying you might as well get the full picture. My dad has hashimotos and it is fairly common and sucks

Yeah, so far they’ve been paying most of the testing costs, we’ll see if that continues. But yeah I might as well while I’m at it.

I have really, really good insurance though. Like… $1000 out of pocket max per year then 100% of everything is covered. I’m getting switched to something else not as awesome in Jan. though

Have you ever tried throwing in some DHEA? If not, add 25mg daily and assess after a few weeks. If you see improvement, bump up to 50mg daily. You can go up to 100mg a daily safely. It’s a matter of finding a dose that works best for you. I get acne if I take anything higher than 25mg. It helps tremendously with erection strength for me.

@dbossa

I tried it for a few weeks when I was told boron and DHEA would get my SHBG down enough to fix me. Obviously, I found a new doctor.

I can add it back in and see what happens though

By the way, the great thing with the cream is that the half life is very short. If you do feel you wound up taking too much it will be out of your system quick. It makes dialing your dose that much easier.

True. Ok, I’ll give it a try for a few days. Hopefully it doesn’t screw up my sleep

Did 2 clicks 2x a day beginning night before last. First no-go in a long time was last night. I can’t even say the two are related given I feel like I’ve felt like I was slowly going backwards even before making any changes, but pretty frustrating regardless.

I have a follow up appt. with Dr Saya on the 30th. He’s booked out that far apparently.

I’m not sure whether I should continue w/4 clicks per day or go back to 3. I think I’m going to give it a few more days at 4 to see if anything good/bad happens first.

Lol I have an appointment with him the same day.

Are you considering injections again?

It’s something I’d consider for sure.

I feel like cream can be just as good or better but I also feel like I know on injections what I need dosage wise so that would be nice to get back to

Also applying 2x a day is a bit annoying. And if I apply then I can’t have sex for a few hours which has been an issue several times lately. I know I can wash off but it’s really annoying to be like oh hold on let me to wash my balls off first. Maybe a different application site would help with some of these concerns

Bottom line I don’t feel as good as I did, and that’s the biggest issue to me.

I’ve been doing 2 clicks morning, 2 clicks at night (200mg today per day). First 2 days I felt worse and had usual sexual issues that I have. Anorgasmia primarily

Yesterday I felt pretty good and did not have any issues at all… feel pretty good today. I’m going to continue on 4 clicks for a bit longer and see what happens

Just another quick update. I definitely feel like I’m continuing to go backwards. Every time I try to have sex lately it’s just getting more and more difficult to get the job done… even skipping a day or two doesn’t really make any difference. I’m not as bad as I was to begin with but it’s been a steady decline the last few weeks. At first I thought it was just in my head but it’s been too steady for too long for me to believe that now. I went from basically having to try to NOT let things end so fast (which was so nice after all this time) to having control, to slowly going back to having to really concentrate and be really particular about what I’m doing to make it happen… otherwise it’s a marathon with no end in sight.

I have a feeling it’s related to my Thyroid and Prolactin levels. I am guessing my Thyroid can’t keep up (my T3/T4 levels were mid range before TRT) and the increase in TRH is causing an increase in TSH and Prolactin as it fails to keep up with demand.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading and TRH directly affects TSH AND Prolactin, so thyroid issues can effectively increase prolactin as well as the obvious TSH, and there are studies showing that TSH and Prolactin being high is very common among people with delayed ejaculation. It’s also common that both of those are LOW in people with premature ejaculation (which I’d take, at this point, haha). It’s not a strong enough correlation to say it’s absolutely 100% true that one causes the other, but they are def. related and people have found improvements by improving thyroid hormones.

So, I guess we’ll see what the Doc has to say on Monday, but I am suspecting Thyroid will be the next thing that needs some TLC.

Also, going to Vegas this weekend, woohoo!

Edit: also, my prolactin tested above range and my TSH has gone from 2.0 to nearly 3.0 so I feel like those need to be improved regardless. Also didn’t mention that I’m back to being tired most of the time, especially in the mornings and I’m always cold it seems. Hands and feet are always very cold unless I’m out in the heat doing manual labor or something
