Ncsugrad's TRT Log / Diary

K I’ll try eating at different times and see what happens. I usually only eat lunch and dinner, never really been big on breakfast, so it looks like I’m doing the whole intermittent fasting thing but it’s not on purpose

Sleep wise I sleep good as far as I know (and ptfo in like 3 minutes usually) but I need to get a little more sleep. I’m getting 6.5 to 7 hours lately

Sounds good to me, I’d love to stay like this all the time.

I just want sensitivity to get back to normal or at least closer to it. I still feel like propecia screwed up some receptors in my d skin or something. A lot of people report improvements around the 3 year mark, I’m almost at 2 years so hopefully between TRT and time I get totally back to normal

I’m almost 6 weeks into my change to 22mg ED. About 8 days ago I started becoming very horny. We’ve had sex 5 of the last 8 days. It’s great, but I’ve wanted sex the last 2 nights too, but she didn’t. It’s been a couple of days and I want to pop…haha.

I’m trying not to jerk off either, want it to all be with her. Here’s hoping tonight it different.

My prolactin has always been at the top of the range. I tried B6, Vitex and P5P. At the same time, I also was taking Armour Thyroid too… And I recall you mentioning a relationship between TRH/TSH and prolactin… Before Armour, my TSH was 3.5. But the short of it is my prolactin is now firmly in the middle of the range on my last 2 bloods…and I don’t know why really, so not helpful right now.

I’ve since stopped all B6, Vitex and P5P and haven’t taken them in many months… So we’ll see what it looks like next blood.

Good luck!

Yesterday was 5 weeks

Still doing pretty decent, nothing crazy good, but def not bad either. Had a 4 day bang break before NYE so that certainly expedited things on NYE, haha. Anyways–no issues NYE or New Years day, so that’s good. 2 days in a row can sometimes be an issue still.

My backne seems to be calming back down some, it got pretty bad on my shoulders and back a few weeks ago but those are mostly away and don’t seem to be continuing. Maybe that means I’ve stabilized a bit.

I am continuing to take 100mg of B6 every day, I may switch to EOD, not sure. I should probably actually have mine tested at some point to see if I even need it but libido has been good since taking it so I may keep on for now

And for the bad stuff… I feel like my joints are 100 years old. My shoulder is killing me, knees hurt, back hurts. Every time I try to scratch my back with my right arm my shoulder pops like it’s coming out of the socket or something. Once I lay in one spot in bed for a while it’s flat out painful to move my joints feel so bad.

That screams low E2 to me but I can’t imagine how it’d be low when I’m taking almost 200mg/week and had really high E2 before. It makes me want to try deca but I just don’t think I can risk the long term sexual side effects now that I’m feeling halfway decent. It would suck pretty bad to go backwards longterm at this point. I know it isn’t really likely at low doses but it still scares me too much to try it right now.

I still have next to no motivation and nothing special energy wise. Any improvements there would be welcomed.

Hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks I finally start getting back to how I felt the first time I was 7-8 weeks in on injections…

Wow, I didn’t realize it had been 2 weeks since I updated this

So, this week is week 7 I believe. In hindsight I wish I had used some sort of consistent format for keeping updates about specific things each week, etc. Oh well.

Still not a lot of energy in the afternoons (one day I’ll actually get around to trying some Armour for my Thyroid just as a trial) and don’t have a lot of the newfound confidence, etc. that people tend to report. I’d really like to get a bunch of this going since I’m job searching.

But sensitivity wise I’m doing pretty good, def. improving. I’ve not had any issues getting the job done quickly lately and the last week or so I haven’t been numb feeling anymore. It’s really weird to have more sensation than I’ve had in a while, but good, obviously. I still start out with more sensitivity and it declines the longer things last but the beginning is “more” than it used to be and the decline is less than it used to be.

I’m continuing on as-is, ~190 to 195mg a week, injecting 3x a week

Weight wise I’ve stayed steady. I gained about 25lbs when I first started last summer then lost 5’ish of it. I’d like to lose a few more but even where I’m at now the scale is saying I’m 16% body fat so I’m not doing terrible for not working out.

I’m taking 100mg of B6 every other day. I don’t know if it’s placebo or just pure coincidence, but the day after I take it I always seem to have some crazy libido going on, which has been really nice. It could just be the T doing it’s thing, could be the prolactin lowering/dopamine increasing factor of the B6, I don’t really know, but it’s working so I’m leaving it for now

Nighttime erections are pretty intense, borderline annoying but not actually annoying because it’s nice to have again. Morning wood is good almost all the time, esp if I wake up early. Less so if I sleep in for whatever reason. Sex wise I’ve been trying to keep it to every other day for the most part which has worked well. I’m afraid to change what’s been working at this point so I’ll probably stick with limiting things for a while longer. If I could keep the intensity that I get every other day while going to every day’ish that would be awesome to me but things are working and are consistent so I’m not as fixated on it as I was.

That’s about it.

Wow, it’s been 10’ish weeks since switching back to injections. It makes my head hurt seeing time go by this fast. I’m still doing ~195mg a week, 65x3.

Things are still going… good, not great. I’m at maybe 80% of where I’d like to be. Libido has gone down some the last week or two, it may just be from stress at work and not TRT related, not sure. I’m not as good as I have been but I’m way better than I used to be, so I’m not doing bad or anything but I’m not getting the “wow, I feel like a different person” experience that a lot of people report. I’m still exhausted after lunch most days and hate getting out of bed in the mornings.

My energy/motivation still sucks, so I’d really like to find something that helps me there. I never really had ED issues so no problems there. Sensitivity is a little less than it has been the last few weeks so that’s annoying. It’s all small changes and subjective though so it’s hard to be sure. I just have never gotten the energetic, motivated, get shit done feeling on TRT that so many people rave about for whatever reason. Maybe something else is going on, who knows.

I’m due for my 6 month labs, so I’m planning on having those taken next week. The doc wants to include thyroid, prolactin and DHT this time just to see if anything is going on there. Then I’ll meet with the doctor 2 weeks from now.

We are also probably going to be trying to conceive in July/August timeframe, so I wanted to talk to Doc about options there to help increase sperm count. I haven’t had it tested so I have no idea where I’m at. I know adding HCG is common but what about FSH? That seems to be a more direct route for sperm production and I haven’t really heard of much in terms of side effects. The downside is cost… it’s about $600 for one vial of the stuff but I’m not sure how long that lasts. My wife is absurdly impatient so hopefully this doesn’t take a year to make happen, haha. Neither of us have conceived before so we really don’t know if either of us will have issues… guess we’ll see!

Just got my labs back. Below are the highlights… this is on 195mg/week, M/W/F dosing. Tested Monday AM, so that should be my lowest point.

HCT is now lower than when I started TRT… so that’s a little weird.

Free T has gone down some (though last test was peak while on cream so results aren’t really comparable since this is at trough). E2 went down, SHBG is down some more but still high end.

Prolactin is up quite a bit. Vitamin D is vampire level… I need more sun.

Thyroid seems to be staying pretty stable. Tested just thyroid a few months back and results are basically the same as this.

Hemoglobin, 14.6, [13.0 - 17.7] g/dL
Hematocrit, 43.8, [37.5 - 51.0] %
Albumin, 4.5, [4.0 - 5.0] g/dL
Alkaline Phosphatase, 122, [39 - 117], IU/L, HIGH

Testosterone Total, 1500, [264 - 916], ng/dL, HIGH. Next time I’m getting the test that will read higher than 1500 to see where I’m at.
Free Testosterone(Direct), 25.6, [8.7 - 25.1], HIGH (decreased from 39 on previous). I’ve been reading this version of the test is very inaccurate though.
Estradiol, Sensitive, 56.6, [8.0 - 35.0], pg/mL, HIGH (decreased from 73 on previous)
SHBG, 66.7, [16.5 - 55.9], nmol/L, HIGH (decreased from 90 on previous)
Prolactin, 33.5, [4.0 - 15.2], ng/mL, HIGH (INCREASED from 21 on previous)

Triiodothyronine (T3), 3.4, [2.0 - 4.4], pg/mL
Thyroxine (T4) Free, Direct, 1.07, [0.82 - 1.77], ng/dL
TSH, 2.020, [0.450 - 4.500], uIU/mL

Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy, 9.0, [30.0 - 100.0], ng/mL, LOW

Damn dude, are you taking any d3 supplements? You can load d3, then coast, especially at that level. 50k iu / week or more to load. You can dose once a week or split daily.

I bought some good d3 supplements that @dextermorgan recommended but then never took them. Then my wife stole them, haha. So yeah, haven’t been taking anything. I guess I’m going to have to start though.

I’d start at 10,000iu/day for 1 month. Then drop down to 5,000iu/day for 4-6 weeks and get your levels checked. None of the benefits of vitamin d are really noticeable, unless your are severely deficient, but the unnoticeable benefits are extremely important to your health.

Does 9 count as severely deficient? Haha

I’ll order some more now and hide it from the wife

It’s a pretty low number, but as with most other things you may or may not have/notice symptoms. Severe deficiency usually manifests as bone disorders. But it can definitely affect sleep and mood.

Some people don’t absorb oral supplements well either. And even if they do it doesn’t have as noticeable an affect as sunlight, unfortunately. However, on average a person needs to have 15 minutes of sunlight exposure per day (in the nude) to get adequate levels, which is just not feasible for most people.

What about hydration and diet?

Are you not eating or drinking enough water before dinner?

Pretty similar numbers as me but with a higher estrogen level, which is to be expected due to you having a sightly higher shbg than me. Are you having any low e2 symptoms? I don’t have high prolactin, but I’ve heard it can be asymptomatic in some men. Probably worth cabergoline if you can afford it or want to experiment.

I’ve had low vitamin d before and it’s awful. I’d say take like 100k iu a week for a month and test again.

Seems like you’re close to figuring this out and back to normal.

Why would you think I’m not drinking enough? I would be surprised if I’m not drinking enough water, especially during the week. Now, I might have been dehydrated when this test was done… I had drank some (read: a lot) the Saturday before my Monday blood draw. I don’t usually drink but if there’s something on the labs showing dehydration that might be why

Diet… still sucks. I’ve stopped the worst of it, slowly getting better. Wife is making me food for the week now so I don’t eat McDonald’s and Reece’s for lunch :sob:

I’ve honestly wondered if mine was still “low” despite showing high… I still have achy joints like crazy and some other random things I’m not remembering now that normally people would call low E2. I’ve been noticing most people doing well have about a 20:1 ratio of test to E2 and mine’s more like 30:1 but with my still higher SHBG I guess that might explain it, not sure.

I have some around here somewhere but haven’t tried it in a long time. It made me feel like my head was in a vice until it wore off so I didn’t love it. I’m willing to try very small amounts again though to see what happens

I forgot all about the B6 I was taking to maybe lower prolactin… I intentionally stopped taking it a week or so before my last labs to kind of sort of try to see where my “normal” is now but not sure if I got some sort of rebound or honestly if even does anything in the first place… not sure.

Any suggestions on a brand/product that isn’t crap?

I sure hope so. I’m wayyy better than I was when I started down this road but still not 100%. I’m still not sure if I should raise my dose, lower my dose or just give it more time.

I am 100% sure I need a better diet and exercise. I just haven’t had the will power yet. Leaving at 6:30am every morning and getting home 6:30 to 7 every night makes it hard to make it to the gym

Now brand works fine. Don’t take 100,000iu/week for a month. Cabergoline is horrible shit and not something to just expirement with. If you’re going the B6 route try P5P as it will have less side effects that regular B6.

In all honesty dude diet & exercise is going to be the biggest game changer for you both mentally & physically. Look up “Athleanx perfect __” (chest, biceps, shoulders, etc as each one has it’s own video). You can watch it and do it at the same time. No need to think about anything just do what he says/is doing. As far as diet you don’t need to go full clean diet instantly just cut out the crap and cook a large amount on Sunday so throughout the week you have a constant supply of food and won’t have any reason to cheat. I’m surprised you feel even decent without constant weight lifting and a halfway decent diet. If I go a week without it I feel like I’m not on TRT.

The good news is you will feel like a God and quickly with just a few lifestyle changes. Literally a God.

K cool, I never had any issues with regular b6 but I’ve read p5p is stronger so might try that

Yeah I’m going to have to force myself to start doing this. I need to find a gym between work and home I guess so I can go on the way home from work. Once I get back into the city there’s no way I’m going to go. YouTube has already started showing me his videos, haha. Truly creepy shit.

I’ve heard that from a few people. I honestly don’t feel much if any different from a confidence perspective but my d works and isn’t numb anymore. It used to literally feel like banging with someone else’s junk. Like, I could see it was me but couldn’t feel it. Pretty scary.

I’ll take God like feeling. I guess getting home a little later is worth that.

Hell yeah it is and when your wife is able to wash clothes on your abs while screaming “you’re a God” as she’s riding you it’ll all be worth it.

I saw the comment about headaches. I get headaches if I drink coffee and not enough electrolytes or even food.
