Great post! Thank you

How’d you feel at 90 (when you’re levels were near mine)? I’m guessing you didn’t feel ideal since you’re moving up in dosage

Hey @dextermorgan - on 90mg armour, I don’t think I saw much of a difference tbh. Definitely didn’t feel ideal - I was warmer than before in certain situations and maybe had a little more energy about 60 minutes after taking my dose, but nothing earth moving.

Even now at 150mg (90 in the morning and 60 in the afternoon), I’m not really sure if I feel any different than 90mg. I do recall the first day I start taking my dose, I had more energy in the afternoon…and that still may be true, but it’s not drastically noticeable. I do still feel great the day after my injection, where I have good energy from about 11am - 3pm ish, but I still feel sorta like I used to.

Not 100% sure why, but my Dr changed me from Armour to NP Thyroid. NP is supposed to have less fillers than Armour, but I’ve read on STTM the new NP formulation has issues and people are reporting going back to hypo symptoms. Maybe even with my increase, the new formula sucks so bad it’s like I’m not taking more. I still have 2 unfilled scripts for 90mg Armour and my new NP script for 150mg. I really want to just start taking more and more until I can’t sit still…but to do it right, I think I need to play the doctor game and just ask for more and more and see what he says.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to get my own bloods in about 2 weeks to see where my thyroid numbers are. I’ll report back.

Are you on the verge of getting some NDT? I’m interested to hear what you end up doing and how it goes.

@ncsugrad2002 - sorry if my posts clogged your thread… I just thought of that.

No worries at all. I welcome all the info I can get

@bcostigan41
Yeah I’m definitely at the point where I want to address thyroid especially the RT3 of it looks like I need it

I’ve seen people here post that rt3 over 15 is an issue but I have no idea if that’s accurate or not

@dextermorgan - when reviewing my most recent numbers with my doc, I asked if I needed to add T3 only on top of my current armour dose to increase FT3 without increasing my RT3.

He said my FT4 was still low enough where I had some room to increase my dose of NDT without likely causing a problematic increase in FT4 and RT3. He did say we could consider adding T3 as a refinement later if increasing my NDT doesn’t do the trick.

Our FT4 reference ranges look similar… And our FT4 levels are close too. If he thought I had enough extra room in my FT4 bucket and didn’t think giving me 150mg NDT would have an impact on my RT3, maybe the same could be true for you too?

Disclaimer - I’m no expert and learning about thyroid each day. Take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

@bcostigan41
What were you RT3 levels?

@dextermorgan 15 in a range of 8-25.

My RT3 went from a pre-armour baseline of 14.3 (9 - 27) up to 15 (8-25) after 7 months on 90mg armour.

My total T3, which I know isn’t a good test but all I have that’s the was measured pre and post, only went from 91 to 93. I wonder if I need a lot more.

I’d take 1 grain am and 1 grain 8 hours later or Armour. Do that for a few weeks. Probably notice a difference within a week. If it doesn’t totally resolve symtoms raise it by .5 to 1.5 grains am and stay at 1 in pm. If you wake up still feeling worse add 1.5 at night and so forth.

@enackers and @dextermorgan - That’s kinda where I’m at. 1.5 grains in the AM and 1 in the afternoon.

For giggles, and since I have extra Armour, I just took my normal 1 grain of NP thyroid and 1.5 grains of Armour at the same time. Not sure if thyroid meds have a half life like testosterone that need time to have an effect or not, but we’ll see how I feel in about an hour.

Send some of that Armour my way so I can try it out, lol

Well, I guess I have another reason to go back to injections. My wife got her lab results back today and T was way high. Normal was like 10-50 I think and hers was 100. Oops. Not a huge deal now but obviously can’t do that when there are babies or baby making involved.

Her t3 was at the very bottom of the range and t4 wasn’t much better so I suspect thyroid drugs would help her a lot.

@ncsugrad2002
Was it from transferring from your balls to her who-ha?

Yes sir. Too much spermenating I guess

Maybe you should get a nut sweater? I can ask my grandma to knit you one but would need dimensions.

Ded. I can’t believe that actually exists. Hahahaha

Sticking with cream for a few more weeks to see what happens then I think it’s back to the needles for me.

The question next is going to be what do I start back at? I was at 150mg before, mon wed fri dosing. I was thinking somewhere between 150 and 200mg/week but that’s a pretty decent range.

A decent man needs a decent dosage. If you know what 150mg does why not do 175mg and go from there?
