24-1 in the last 25 ROAD GAMES in which the starters played.

So WhiteFlash, care to amend your prediction that Stern would have the refs make sure OKC makes the finals?

edit: Just read through the thread, and while you said Stern has a vested interest in manufacturing dynasties, you did not actually say that OKC would make the finals because of it. My b. My memory sucks.

37 cough cough.

Still look unbelievable right now, Pop is a great coach and utilizes talent so damn well, even though I hate his ugly ass.

PTI guys with some interesting stats from last night’s Thunder/Spurs Game 2:

-Duncan goes 2-11 FGs
-OKC Big Three scores 88pts on 55% FGs
-Westy drops 8:0 ast/to

Now of course it was just one game and OKC isn’t likely to give up 120pts again, but given those stats from last night, does OKC have any chance (barring injury) of even stretching this out past five games??

You can always cherry pick stats, it’s not like Parker is gonna go 16-21 again.

OKC has a chance if Perkins gets 0 minutes. He is meant to defend the Z-Bos and Bynums of the world 1-on-1, he has no business seeing any playing time against a pick and roll heavy attack. Perkins trying to contain Parker on hedges/traps/etc. in Pick N Rolls is like Earl Boykins trying to guard Dwight Howard in the post.

They crushed perkins last night on TNT, basically saying he was standing around with a thumb up his ass on pick in rolls, and it was completely true.

The NBA draft lotto is so shady. Last year after Cleveland got LeBron’ed by the Decision they end up with the #1 & #3 picks in the draft and now this year the NBA sells the Hornets, the new owner is in the building and miraculously they leapfrog a few teams with better odds to grab the #1 pick?

Come on son!

Everything about the administrative aspects of the nba is shady as fuck. It’s basically more entertainment, than legit competition.

does rondo hav to fall on every play?omg…someone pleez feed that boy too…

…wwe

unreal stat line from R Rondo, including minutes played

feels pretty safe to assume he’s nowhere near the trading block anymore…

Rajon Rondo putting up Jeremy Lin numbers.

I fucking hate that logic, I knew ahead of time someone would argue it was a conspiracy. There were about 6 teams who could’ve won the lottery that you could come up with a legit conspiracy theory for after the fact. It’s revisionist history.

Sacramento - Badly needed the pick because their franchise is out of money, bothced a move to Anaheim… could either spin it as “they need Davis to spark excitement and stay in town” or “They need a marquis player to justify a move to a new venue (exactly like Kevin Durant for Seattle before they moved)”

Nets - Would have been the biggest conspiracy theory. Just moved into Brooklyn, getting a huge name could have the additional effect of enticing Deron Wiliams to stay, could be the difference between a total flop in a huge market or a giant success in a huge market. Oh and they have a shady billionaire russian owner.

New Orleans - obvious

Houston - “Sorry we fucked up the trade for the player you’ve openly coveted for 3 years”

Cavs - another makeup pick for LBJ leaving

You could even make an argument for Charlotte as a market they need to succeed in plus the ownership of Jordan.

Shit you could make an argument for Portland (Roy/Oden losses, rabid fanbase, owner very involved in lockout talks).

That basically leaves (in my opinion) four teams with realistic odds at the # 1 pick who there would be no consipracy theory for: Pistons, Raptors, Warriors, Wiz. In other words, if the draft is assigned by random chance, the odds are that you’ll have a team that has a claim to a conspiracy theory. Even if you take out the bobcats, the odds of a “conspiracy” team winning are still 30-40 % .

You know,I get the sneaking suspicion that the NBA lottery might have been rigged.

The main reason I don’t believe in conspiracy theories about the NBA is that I’ve never met 5 people who could keep a secret, let alone hundreds.

That shit would have been leaked eons ago.

Apparently tho, if you’re last name is either wade or james, you can do whatever you want on the court and the other team will get the fouls called on them.

Also, if the lottery was really rigged - you’re telling me Stern would have the Nets pick land outside the top 3 so that it would go to Portland instead of giving them a top3 talent and hoping DWill stays? Not buying it.

I know you’re trolling but pls do elaborate on what you mean.

Rondo’s complete lack of upper back development makes for a strange look, no doubt.
