$5

If the Spurs win the title he will be paid out $125. That’s how I understood it.

Yeah.

God I wish I bet $50. I made that bet right after the NBA championship last year, when the Futures first came out. Didn’t make sense to me that the Spurs, who were a 2-seed and lost without Manu in a bad matchup for them, and are ALWAYS in the the thick of it, were 25-to-1.

Then again, I also laid down $5 on the Blazers with the same odds, so it’s not like I’m proclaiming some sort of otherworldly basketball knowledge. Would just be cool to win after I cashed in my bet on Thibodeau to win COTY last year (won $300 on $5 bet). Preseason bets have been good to me.

The 2 best teams in the league are playing in the western finals, the real finals wont matter imho.

Haha. Was reading on my phone and somehow missed that. Whoops.

But I’d just like to make a comment to all the Miami Heat haters : what you gotta say now?
I’m not a hater, but the simple fact you are bragging about beating the Pacers in the 2nd round shows how incredibly far their expectations have fallen.

Bosh or not, no one is beating the Spurs right now. They are historically good. Pick whatever stat you want (24-3 in last 27 road games where 2 of the losses were with their stars benched; 43-4 in the last 47 games Parker plays; 26-game win streak with only 4 wins by less than 10pts (2 without starters), Best offense in the NBA). In a full season this team might win over 65 games.
Well as a Spurs fan you don’t need to tell me. I said early in the season that I wanted to see the Spurs or Heat in the Finals and in the scenario those two teams met there I’d pull for the Spurs.

I’m behind LeBron as well though - some of the shit he’s had to endure is just plain repetitive. I want to tune into sports commentary without having to be inundated with conversation about how LeBron “hasn’t won anything yet.” So saying that, I wouldn’t mind if Miami won a Spurs-Heat Finals.

In regards to Miami haters, they were talkn’ shit after the Pacers won game 3. It was funny seeing LeBron ‘heat’ (no pun intended) escalate after Miami lost that game and then dramatically dropped off after his monster game 4. People actually thought Indiana would win…

Heh, Get strikes again!!

Actually, it was D Wade who was receiving ALL of the bashing after MIA fell behind 2-1. It was Wade who put up that 5-pt stinker in Game 3, it was Wade who picked a bad time for the worst playoff game of his career, it was Wade who clashed with Spoelstra, etc

And ultimately, it was Wade’s turnaround in Games 4-6 that swung the series. As great as he is, not even James couldve done it alone…

If you tuned into ESPN or even the Internet for that matter you would know your comments are dead wrong. Yeah, D-Wade got his fair share of blame but he’s generally been perceived as the lesser of two evils ever since LeBron has been in Miami so the general reaction after Wade’s game 3 performance wasn’t as bad as if a LeBron James scored 5 points. Basically, all the residual blame that wasn’t directed at Wade got transferred to LeBron and the same old tired topic of the 4th quarter got brought up again. More importantly, the haters game out in full force after that game 3 in general.

Skip Bayless said the same thing…

All?

You got to be kidding me? As if no one talked shit about Lebron missing those two clutch free throws in game 2. Just read the comments in the links below and even in this thread after that game. I’m not even a big Lebron fan (Wade is my favorite player in the league) but people will be quick to forget how he helped close out game 6 with 7 straight points in the final minutes. Face it, people just love to bash the guy (whether is justified or not is a whole other debate I’ll stay out of).

Boston over 76ers tomorrow and I’ll take Boston in 6 or 7 over Miami. Spurs will have no problem with the Thunder, Spurs in 5 or 6.

sighs

I was NOT speaking in general here. I was SPECIFICALLY referring to the post-Game 3 uproar that Get referenced in his original post. Not post-Game 2 or Games 1,4,5, or even Game 6, for that matter.

Of course, everyone knows Lebron shoulders an unfair proportion of the blame blah blah blah - it’s generally not worth my time to post the obvious. And look, I’m all for disagreement and healthy debate but let’s pls do stick to what I actually write (scj cerainly does) and not some weak, straw man nonsense.

Anyway, have a great weekend…

Very excited about game 7. I hope it’s a close game and not a blowout, at least if its a blowout I can switch off the tv and watch the UFC fight instead, lol.

Sixers might take it, Iguodala can play good D on pierce, and there’s no Bradley to shut down Holliday. Ray Allen needs to hit some jumpers.

I kind of hope the Heat win it. I don’t really like them as a team, but D Wade and Bron work really damn hard. The only reason I want them to win is because I think Bron deserves at least 1 title.

James doesn’t “deserve” anything, except maybe a swift kick to the nuts. The guy is a spoiled, entitled jerkoff who’s never worked for anything and looks for bailouts at every available oppertunity. He’s also now become one of the worst floppers in the league, which is so pathetic it’s sad. With that, even if he never wins anything he’s had a career of young Grant Hill #'s with a better 3pt %, so he’ll go down as a top 20 player.

Could not agree more. Screw the heat, their “fans” are a joke, their flopping bullshit is a joke ,and the way that team came into existence is a joke.

I dont know how anyone can say anything positive about them when lebald and whoever else were crying about the suspensions, claiming ud went for the ball. That’s flatout insulting to say that, hey asshole, we may be poorer than you, but he have televisions and eyes; and know a WWE move vs. a basketball play.

Anyways, id like to see boston pull this one out tonight. Rondo will dominate the heat, and those old bastards will not want to see this heat team win.

If lebron deserves a title, then charles barkley deserves to be commissioner of the league, Karl Malone deserves to be dictator of the entire state of Louisiana, and i deserve of a Bugatti Veyron filled hundred dollar bills, and mila kunis as my sex slave.

“bron” does deserve something tho…
