Will someone tell me why the Heat stopped running their offense? As soon as they went from running their (incredibly effective this game) sets and just giving it to LBJ to handle by himself, they stopped scoring and let OKC back in.
They stop putting LBJ in the post once Harden takes him? Does not compute.
I can’t believe that just happened
These close ups after the whistle are a bad idea. I think I’ve seen the thunder blatantly curse about 6 times
1st home playoff loss for OKC.
We got ourselves a series.
Anyone see the elbow lebron threw at westbrook after KD missed the game tying shot and westbrook fouled lebron?
Series tied, come at me bro!
I just really hope the Heat pull through so all the haters can stfu. It is so stupid how its trendy to hate on King James and the Heat.

Lebron makes himself a target

Guess I’ll start the refereeing discussion since it’s inevitable.
MIA gets a goaltend call on that Bosh shot that wasn’t a goaltend.
Lebron gets away with a foul on KD in the final seconds.
KD gets away with a charge that would’ve been his 6th
Where were all these conspiracy theorists in 2002 when real shit was going down?
The NBA stopped the shady stuff at around '04 and basically eliminated everything when the whole Donaghy thing came out.
What you’re seeing in today’s game is simple human error and incompetency (non professionalism).

Does he? He fucked over the Cavs and made some stupid PR moves at that time but he’s been humble the whole 2 seasons that he’s been with the Heat given the level he’s at. I think he proved a lot tonight with those 2 free throws(12-12 on the night) at the end and silenced a lot of critics. I hated the guy too at one point but I agree with what Jeff Van Gundy said last week: “There ought to be a statute of limitations on stupidity.” It was odd tonight that there were way more people cheering for OKC at the bar tonight given how many people in NJ have ties to Florida and the Miami-Dade area.

and they did it without anyone from the Heat having a huge game (besides Battier’s 3’s). I still think OKC will take the series but it’s going to be closer than I originally expected. The Heat did a great job at rotating on D and picking up in the first half and if they can do more of that they might be able to take it. The next game will be very interesting.
Lol at how that last foul on kd’s shot didnt get whistled, so much for the home team calls…

Sure, but the charge by Durant which got called as a block with 3:20 left didn’t make a difference right? It would’ve fouled him out but no big deal.

A) I didn’t say the away team NEVER gets a single call, that is a serious strawman argument. I said MORE calls go to the home team (see: KD’s charge that should have fouled him out, called a block on Battier)
B) On that specific play (LBJ’s uncalled foul), I watched the replay. The official in the corner was behind and to the left of KD… he just couldn’t see LBJ’s arm all up in KD’s biznazz, I think he would’ve called it if he was on the other side of the play.
C) On that play, you have to think “would they have called KD for his 6th on that play if the situation was reversed?” I think that charge-called-a-block proved NO, so I’m ok with the no-call
D) All that said, KD bricked a wide open shot from 6 feet away. Yeah LBJ fouled him, but he gathered himself on the way up and there was no contact with his arms at time of release.
All in all, the Thunder’s biggest problem was that they scored 2pts the first 7 minutes.
Now if we can actually talk about the game instead of officiating and narratives/storylines/psychoanalysis…
-Amazed the Heat won without LBJ or Wade really tearing it up. You’d think Battier has to start missing SOME of these shots, right? I mean, floaters in the lane from Shane Battier at 36 years old??
-KD has a hard time getting open some times even against the decrepit Battier. If any NBA player needs to bench and squat in the offseason, it’s KD.
-The last 2 series, the Heat have been force feeding LBJ in the post and it’s been pretty brutally effective. No idea why they went away from that once they had a lead in late 4Q. Prediction: Playing it safe will cost them a win at some point this series.
-OKC will not shoot that poorly for 3 quarters… or even 1 quarter… very often if ever. MIA got pretty lucky to pull that win out, OKC missed so many open shots and layups in the first half.
Also, despite having money on OKC, I found myself in this really weird place of rooting for MIA last night. I just think the hate on them and LBJ is so fucking over the top… the guy made one really stupid choice two fucking years ago and millions of people hate him like he murdered their children. Get the hell over it.
Also, the NBA fan in me desperately wants LBJ to become what he’s capable of, and dominate an NBA finals. People love to watch greatness and I’m no different.
That KD-Battier thing would’ve been best served as a no-call. Battier stopped, then moved a little bit more and leaned a little because he saw KD was going to avoid him. Most definitely not a clear charge on KD imo.
Yeah, I was a huge LBJ fan, then turned into a “hater” after he turned into a pussy and then added the fiasco 2 years ago. Plus that stupid Heat commercial was sooo sickening, any average person hates that kind of over-the-top Narcissism.
^^I wasn’t rooting for Miami, but I did start to think last night that LBJ might actually be regaining some of that lost eye of the tiger stuff. Who the hell knows where it’s been since the famous Detroit game. LBJ could’ve been the greatest of all time, maybe he’ll redeem himself and get back into the top five or so.
Oh, and the refs did a good job last night. I agree the missed foul on LBJ was because the ref just didn’t have the angle to see it. Slick move by LBJ.
I did note that after Wade got one of his (formerly) patented foul call with some flailing of the arms acting on one play, he got whistled a few minutes later for some pretty much standard arm “push” on a player (away from the ball, no effect on the play going on) while OKC was pushing the ball up the floor.
The refs are definitely on the lookout for acting from the players, and maybe trying to send little “messages” imo.
