NBA Lockout

There’s been a lot of talk about Jeremy Lin but Tony Parker is one of the best (top 3) PGs in the game.

The Knicks got JR Smith now? Oh shit…things are going to be interesting in the East.

Watching Mavs-Knicks, I hope the Mavs win this game, but they just showed a graphic saying since Lin’s breakout game he’s scored more points than anybody in the league. I know I said earlier he could be a 15/8 type player, but after watching this I think he can be a legit all-star.

I’m rooting for him. It’s a nice story. I just don’t see full time starter in his future. I hope I’m wrong. [/quote]

Ultimately I see him as a luxury backup PG for a secondary unit.

Raj is obviously not watching any of these games

28pts, 14 ast, 5 steals and 7 TO

Knicks won that game off some BS ref calls, Dirk got absolutely hammered in the closing seconds and got no foul. But with JR Smith now and Melo coming back, Knicks are a very dangerous team offensively. Amare looked like total garbage though. He’s never been a good defender, but he was truly awful today, offensively as well as defensively.

Edit: 14 ast, not 7

I have been (seen 4), I just think the league will adjust. It may not happen this year, but it will over the course of 82 games + full training camp next year.

If I’m wrong I’ll eat my words.

Great game, lin once again played clutch…and I will go out on a limb here and say that hubie brown knows more than all of us about basketball, if you want to shit on Lin for TO’s fine, but remember how much he has the ball in his hands, how much he is playing and how much he is trapped and pressured.

Dirk is the Dan Marino of the NBA, no one complains and yells more than him. Now dont get me wrong some of it is legitimate, but alot of its just BS, he yells a Marion because he didnt switch? please Lin shot that right over you, and please stop bitching about that 3 at the end of the game it was obvious that you initiated the contact.

JR smith made a difference, but its a certainty that with him you have to take the good with the bad.

Raj if these first 9 games are an indication you may be right if he is playing for team USA.

I dont know about that, Lin was getting mugged all the time, even Chandler was getting hammered Knicks won because of their 3 pt shooting espescially Lin and Novak, not to mention excellent defense. To say it was just bad calls isnt fair, we can disect the whole game and look at some shit calls for both sides.

Knicks are not just dangerous offensively but their defense aint to shabby either.

so out of these 9 games , the knicks have played against two very good teams in Dallas and Lakers, two OK teams in the t-wolves and Jazz and the rest shit teams. Does Lin

There was also a shitty play at the end of the game where Lin was fouled and there was no call.

I love the Lin haters.

I am excited for Anthony’s return tomorrow and how they fair against the Heat on Thursday.

I hope you’re right, but they probably aren’t.

I don’t think there are a lot of Lin ‘haters’, just cautious realists like BG, raj and scj whose opinions I can’t really fault because they do make sense.

I didn’t watch today’s game (it was on at 7am in the morning here…) but looking at the stat sheet I see he played monster minutes again tonight. D’Antoni is working that boy hard.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to watch replays of NBA games online?

Hold up Im being a realist as well, I dont think he will be a superstar pg, but Raj isnt being a hater when he says that Lin is only going to be a backup please…what has he shown you where he is going to be a backup??? I dont where that Raj comment makes sense. Lin played great today, he is getting trapped and pressured ALL the time.

No on here is saying that Lin is saying Lin is going to be the next Derrick Rose, all IM saying is that the possibility of him becoming a very good starting PG is very possible.

With you “realists” the only games that will count are the ones where he will lose. When they play the Heat I would venture to guess the Knicks will lose, and all the “realists” you mentioned will be chomping at the bit to shit on him. How come this game doesent count? Dallas isnt a good defensive team, havent they been streaking as well?

Like I said earlier espescially with Raj he isnt a realist he is a pessimist when it comes to Lin and alot of it has to do with his hate of NY teams (yankees and knicks) so he is not being realistic.

It’s a result of my analysis of his skill set.

How many relatively slow non-athletic PGs turn into above average PGs? Are they the exception or the rule?

nvm… found…

Lin is young though he can get away with more playing time. Hopefully

I’m not champing at the bit at all. I haven’t watched any extended play so I’m reserving my opinion. I just know that he’s on his third team, was undrafted, bounced around the D-league and is in the midst of a small stretch of games in a truncated-crazy-scheduled season and playing without the team’s two studs.

He can obviously play; but that was decided when he made a roster. The question is, whether the talent evaluators that didn’t draft him, planted him at the end of the bench and sent him to the d-league are right and this is an aberration, or if he’s real.

I have faith in the evaluators. You don’t get sent to the D-league for no reason. If he turns out to be a full time starter over the course of the next few seasons, it will be a remarkable story.

My guess is that he’ll be on a roster, but not a starting PG. My guess is that a healthy Baron David may displace him.

Lin is non-athletic? Do you even know how much athleticism is required for the body control he displays while crashing the lane? Obviously he’s not lebron, but he’s clearly NOT non-athletic.

You say a lot of crazy shit. It sounds like you subjectively reach a conclusion and then look for ways to support it instead of looking at something objectively and drawing a conclusion based on the observation.

I don’t see him as slow or unathletic as you do raj…is he a blur? No but he shows excellent accelleration. Is he a tremendous high flying athlete? No the way he can get to the basket shows he is a good athlete.
