NBA Lockout

It was obvious that Lin was tired in the second half as many shots were short, and the media will always ride the hot hand and talk about the hottest commodity. The important thing is that Lin gave credit to his teammates and didnt focus on himself. Even with Lin being tired he still got to the basket regularly (yes I know it was against rubio)

They tried to force him left in the first half and he was successful.

No, the 28 and 8 is not going to last, but his effective play will. At some point your going to have to give some credit and not shit on him the minute he has a bad half or game.

Fucking 5-0 and you guys are just chomping at the bit to watch him fail, get real. Fucking 5-0 with no proven offensive scorers in your starting 5…fucking 5-0 beating the lakers (yes I know there not the same) and then traveling the next day to beat a non push over team in the Timberwolves.

Oh and Nikola Pecovic (spelling?) is a beast.

and Kevin Love had the quietest 30 and 20 ever. If thats possible. Not saying hes not awesome cuz he is but when I saw his stats at halftime I was like really?

Wanted to add that Lin has the most points in the first 4 starts of any player since the NBA/ABA merger. Say what you will, but that’s fucking crazy and that kind of production cannot be denied.

Why can’t people just enjoy the moment? There’s new excitement and enthusiasm for the Knicks and NBA as a whole. Who cares when Lin finally crashes back to reality. Honestly, his game has been dissected more than any other player I can remember. I don’t even think LeBron James has received the amount of critique some people are giving on Lin.

This is pretty much an amazing story that’s still in the writing and possibly hasn’t even reached its climax.

Are you kidding? Every media outlet in the country is slobbing Lin’s testicles. Non-NBA fans are tuning in to watch him, virtually everyone is living in the moment.

It’s not that I WANT Lin to fail. What infuriates me is that if he were on any other team (except LAL) it would be a nice little story that hardcore NBA fans would be aware of, and a little fun thing to watch. Buutttt because it’s in NY it is ALL OVER EVERYWHERE. It’s just annoying as shit to see so much about a pretty unknown guy who’s had a good 5-game stretch. Tell some other stories too.

The ‘people’ are guys like you who are trying to look into the future and bring us to reality!

There are no stories even remotely as interesting as Lin-sanity. What are ‘they’ going to talk about, the Spur’s 7 game win streak?

The NBA is getting a shit load of press and I’m down with it.

and this does not get accomplished at the guard position in the NBA without being “athletic”.

And frankly, the NBA sorely needs a “Linsanity” story. There is an entire generation of NBA fan that has tuned out this present generation of NBA player. Diversity is a good thing for the league.

I agree with BG, the NBA needs this story.

Last Season was a masterpiece, amazing storylines. This year has kinda been a bit of a let down. Play has been sloppy and season is flying by with all these back to backs and shortened schedule.

All star weekend is around the corner and the season feels like it barely started.

I agree the league needs it. It’s just my damn nature as a math major to want everyone to be aware of regression to the mean… that’s why I argue against virtually every extreme argument/position/idea regardless of what team or which player it refers to.

I don’t disagree with that sentiment. However, as I pointed out in another reply, you CANNOT do what he has done over the last few games and NOT be a player or athletic. Now, at the end of the day, it may turn out he is a middling or marginal player (entirely possible), but I don’t think the average person has the faintest grasp on how good that “middling or marginal” NBA player is.

There are no stiffs at the guard position.

Damn Knicks fans! Do you have any idea how annoying it is to see story after story about a team you are completely indifferent about? That’s really what is being rallied against, not Lin himeslf.

To me the real stories this year so far are: Rubio and Kyrie Irving blowing it up as rooks; Philly and Indiana surprising in the East; How the Nuggets AND Knicks seem to get better when they lose Melo; The Clippers (Signing K-Mart was huge for a team giving PF minutes to Brian Cook, they are contenders now); James Harden’s evolution (might be the 2nd best PnR operator behind Chris Paul); how it’s possible for an NBA team to be as bad as the Bobcats; prob a bunch I missed.

Those are all things I’d rather talk about than Jeremy Lin having a good 5-game stretch. Make sense?

I’m not a Knicks fan for what it’s worth…Don’t get me wrong I like Melo and Amare. I think it’s too early to say what Lin’s future holds for him. But you can’t deny what he’s done so far.

I’ll admit I was wrong about Rubio. I thought the kid was a joke and wouldn’t amount to much. He’s made me eat my words.

He’s a lot of fun to watch and better than advertised on D… but after a 3-week hot start he is showing the poor shooting he was criticized for before coming to the NBA. Gotta shoot better than 37% if you’re gonna be a true PnR guy, have to have SOME threat of knocking down the J so they can’t go under the screen every time.

Edit: He has amazing ast/to numbers for a rook though, and leads the league in steals. Scary what he might be 2 yrs from now.

Dude, Rubio is more hype than anything. He gets less than 10pts a game while shooting less than 40% from the field. Yeah he gets 8 assists a game, but he’s got a 25 a game guy to give the ball to. He is a pretty good defender though.

You could say the same about Lin before this year

Selfish SCJ is Selfish…fuck as a Knick fan the Knicks are finally relevant for the first time in a decade and not for something negative as in Isaiah’s BS, Jim Dolan’s Retardness, Being obscenely over the salary cap or signing has beens (steve francis and and T mac)…

Fuck maybe we can make a big deal about bringing back Moochie Norris out of retirement, something stupid like that to make you happy…but I still love you bro…

How can this not be the number one story.
