NBA Lockout

I don’t know how the announcers in the Knicks game dont say after every Jeremy Lin bucket, “And can you believe he’s Asian!”

Thats what Im fucking talking about…im getting my jersey tomorrow…

yellow fucking mamba!!!

god I hope melo and amare doesent fuck this up

except he scored 38

My Asian friends are going crazy.

Asian pride around the globe is at an all-time high right now.

I actually thought the lakers did an okay job against the pick and roll but Lin just burned them with one on one match-ups.

Lin can play, and he’s had 4 ridiculous games, but it’s gonna come to a halt soon and I feel for the kid. He cannot live up to the pressure the NY and national media are putting on him. I do believe that he’s cemented himself as a legit player in the league though, and his ability to stick the jumper off the p’n’r is invaluable. That sets up the rest of his game, but this season is completely on the fly, and once things slow down and D’s are able figure his game out he’s gonna have a much harder time getting his shot.

Mavericks and Spurs are ballin’ right now. Nowitzki is slowly finding his rhythm.

Amazing play that didn’t even get a replay

If he turns out to be a 15 pts 7 ast guy I think most would consider that a huge success and I would be very happy for him. I don’t think anybody is expecting him to continue averaging 30 ppg lol.

But man what an awesome story. This seriously doesn’t even happen in movies, especially the way he did it tonight on the biggest stage. At the end of the game a reporter asked him, “What did you think your dream of playing in the NBA would be like?” and he just goes “This is it. This is my dream.” Gave me the chills.

fixed that for ya

(Lin is also lucky that the Clippers aren’t on the schedule. One can easily envision CP just locking him down, just to prove a point)

Just like DWill and John Wall right? Give the kid props, he’s already faced a top 3 PG and balled all over him. Chris Paul isn’t going to do anything that DWill can’t on defense.

The Knicks should start shopping Melo around. Amare + a good PG is a proven combination, Carmelo “All I do is Iso” Anthony is a ball stopping black hole who is going to ruin this team’s new found chemistry. If the Knicks could move Melo for Ray Allen + picks + filler or something with Memphis for Rudy Gay they could be a very dangerous team.

all the knick haters…u mad bro? lol.

jeremy lin bringing hope and pride to all asians around the world! singapore is giving their support.

overstand: not hating as dwill is a great scoring pg, but i don’t think he is that good a defensive player though. i think cp3 and rose will be a tougher match up for him as they are more athletic and quicker and maybe even stronger. and i agree with chillain that every pg will be trying to play him harder now to prove a point. still, i definitely want lin to succeed. must be nice reaching your dreams

And if he does turn out to be a 15pts/7ast guy, it is definitely very respectable. just hope he can be consistent throughout the season. i think that’s most important, doesnt matter if he’s not scoring 25+

God damnit! I just realized Lin is matched up with Derek Fisher’s dad tonight, so he’s probably gonna rack up a triple double.

Serious question: Has Lin gotten lucky with point guard matchups, or is there just a lack of good defensive starting point guards right now?
Hold up matching with Deron Williams is favorable? Come on give him some credit thus far.

The lakers are a good defensive team and actually have played good defense on him thus far and hes still scoring. SCJ remember look at the matchups, Lin, Fields, Walker, Jeffries and Chandler V Bryant, Fisher, Artest, Gasol and Bynum…I dont care if the Lakers played 4 games in a row, there is no way the Knicks should be winning right now based on talent alone.
Deron Williams is a good defensive PG but he’s had a bizarre year - the Nets are one of a couple teams I haven’t seen this year so I don’t know if his situation on that team has affected his defense.

The other 3 PGs he’s played against are Harris Fisher and Wall, all atrocious defenders.

I will say I thought the Lakers bigs would be able to stop some of his tomfoolery around the basket even after he went by Fisher, apparently they didn’t.

Also, I’m not saying Lin is BAD. I’m saying plenty of mediocre players have had huge 5 game stretches and there needs to be some fucking reality checks about what this outburst means. It’s like when Brandon Jennings scored 55pts and everyone thought he was a great shooter even after he followed that with two straight years of FG shooting below 40%.

As far as tonight - Rubio is a solid ISO defender but he is slow getting around PnRs (I’ve seen a couple Twolves games on NBATV) so Lin might be in for another big night unless Adelman schemes him out of the game… Adelman is a good coach so it’s possible.

John Wall is HORRIBLE on D. I watch him all the time. Lin has beaten one above-average defensive point guard.

If Lin puts up 20 and 7 on the celtics with 45% shooting, I’ll be impressed.

That was the only time you’ve watched him? He’s been a very mediocre shooter his entire college career and so far in the NBA. It’s the entire reason I think he’ll start struggling. He had a good game but I wouldn’t say he will consistently stick the J over the top of the screen.
