I dont expect expect Lin to keep dropping close to DD but I really do think he will continue to be effective. He had led the knicks to balanced scoring which is a feat in itself, and while he didnt face good teams (Utah is not a bad team however) he did face a top 5 pg in Williams a talented one in Wall and even harris is better than average. All this with abzolutley ZERO proven scorers around him.

Quick tangent: Wall is terrible defensively and, something I’ve been meaning to make it’s own post, Devin Harris is NOT an above average point guard. I have no idea what happened (an injury I’m forgetting?) but he has gone from good PG to worst-starting-PG-in-the-NBA faster than should be humanly possible. He’s averaging about 9pts/4asts in 26mins/game on 42% shooting (shooting 30% from three and taking nearly 3attempts/game!). I am astounded as to how he starts and gets minutes on a competent team.

From the small amount of games there is reason for optimism, the biggest of which is to get his teammates in good position to score, his ability to handle the ball and get to the basket.
When they play the lakers tomorrow again their starting 5 will be atrocious on paper, Lin, Fields, Jeffries, Chandler and Walker and he will still be effective and give the lakers some issues.
The real test is not if he will continue to drop off 20 and 7 it will be if he can continue his playmaking ability when the black hole in melo comes back…Im keeping my fingers crossed.
Honestly unless you just hate the Knicks there is no reason not to hope he does well.
I don’t hate the Knicks, however I hope he doesn’t do well because my ego doesn’t like it when I’m wrong on someone haha.
In all seriousness, it would be a pretty incredible story if he kept it up, I’m not denying that. And all he has to do is be better than Toney Douglass to help the Knicks.
LOL me too! Toney Douglas has been so awful even if Lin levels off in an extreme way he will still like Walt Frazier cuz Douglas is so awful.
As far as Harris goes, your right he has become extremely mediocre, and from what I remember from his days with the Nets he is perpetually injured.

Wow, not sure how its even possible to throw a better inbounds/outlet than that
Jeremy Lin is everywhere! I can’t find a sports site without a picture of Lin on its front page. Every sports blog has commentary on him and he’s even on CNN!
Lin-sanity!
God damnit! I just realized Lin is matched up with Derek Fisher’s dad tonight, so he’s probably gonna rack up a triple double.
Serious question: Has Lin gotten lucky with point guard matchups, or is there just a lack of good defensive starting point guards right now?
Watched first half of Heat-Wiz. Amazing to me how Wall finds the most open guy every single time he penetrates - even more amazing, he actually makes the pass despite the fact his awful teammates never make the shot. He’d be averaging double digit assists easily on most teams.
He’s still a “work in progress” in man D though.

YERRROW FEVER!!!

Hold up matching with Deron Williams is favorable? Come on give him some credit thus far.
The lakers are a good defensive team and actually have played good defense on him thus far and hes still scoring. SCJ remember look at the matchups, Lin, Fields, Walker, Jeffries and Chandler V Bryant, Fisher, Artest, Gasol and Bynum…I dont care if the Lakers played 4 games in a row, there is no way the Knicks should be winning right now based on talent alone.

Watched the 2nd Quarter, Lin was impressive. The pick and rolls he and Chandler have been running has been causing major problems for the Lakers.
I want to see him play against a strong defensive PG though. Derek Fisher is a pilon.
lol just noticed scj beat me to it.
Derek Fisher has to clamp onto Lin’s arm just to stay near him.
Btw didn’t watch it since I had the Knicks game on, but the Raptors blew out the Celtics some how.
For the couple of minutes I had it on while the Knicks-Lakers game was at commercial the announcer said the Raptors were putting on a “defensive clinic”
I almost choked on the food I was eating. Never thought I’d hear those words uttered in 2012
What’s up with Kobe, except for that one shot he looks terrible.

The Yellow Mamba has that effect on his prey
He’s got 34pts…

its the same reason NYK is all over LAL - classic letdown situation for both BOS, LAL after last night
