Nobody wants to got to Cleveland you idiots. You can’t build a team where nobody wants to go. hmmmm lets put on or thinking caps L.A. Cleveland??? Think really hard about that. These guys took less money to win and you guys are dogging them. You must hate basketball or are secretly terrified about how good this team can be. I’m not even a miami fan but the basketball fan in me can’t wait to see this. You guys seem much more about single player dynasties than what ever players goal should be WINNING.
He could have went a lot of different places to build his own legacy as the “KING”. In Miami, he ain’t going to be no KING. He copped out cuz he needs Wade cuz he doesn’t believe he can lead a team himself. And he can’t.
He doesn’t care about being King he wants to win. LBJ has always been a team oriented player. He’s doing something different and you haters are freaking out.
Team oriented… right. DREW is back with fury.

Who’s DREW

BULL FUCKING SHIT he doesn’t want to be King. He’s the one that came up with that ridiculous title. He’s got the biggest freaking ego the NBA has ever seen. Stop sucking his dick. He wants to be talked about as one of the greatest of all time and his move to Miami is completely incongruent with the reality he is seeking.

It’s hilarious how Red’s defense of everything Lebron is by trying to drag down Kobe in scenarios that are not even closely related. Lemme see if I can deflect the deserved criticism of Lebron by focusing on tearing down Kobe. Nice try, Red, nice try. But it ain’t working…
It’s hilarious how you defense of Kobe/assault on LeBron centers around ‘pieces’ like Pau Gasol isn’t a top 5 big man in the NBA, and Andrew Bynum isn’t one of the extremely few true centers in the game. You keep holding it against LeBron for leaving when it was clear that while Cleveland was ‘getting him pieces’ the pieces fucking blew ass(Shaq? Fucking Shaq? I’m sure if we look we can find how much I hated that deal when it went down)

Anyhow I have to leave I will be back to argue more later.
Yes, Pau Gasol is a top 5 big man. Yes, Andrew Bynum is a true center. Yes, Kobe has a ton of help as any superstar should have to win a championship. But make no mistake, Kobe has, is, and always will be top Alpha dog on this team and is their leader.

I can’t believe you can’t see the difference. It can be argued that Lebron may not be even the best player on his team now. He ain’t the fucking leader. He ain’t no fucking King. He ain’t no Jordan and he ain’t no Kobe. He’s a complementary player now. This is Wade’s team. Lebron is part of his supporting cast now.

I’m not taking on the Cleveland argument. If Jordan or Kobe were in that situation and they felt like they HAD to leave for whatever reason there is no way in hell they would have joined Wade and Bosh in Miami. They would take alpha dog status in Chicago or another team like that. Next subject…
Kobe WAS NOT TOP DOG IN LA WITH SHAQ NOT.
DrewH? Is that you? I’m not having this argument again. Go back to the NBA playoff threads and you can thrash your own arguments here.

No idea who DREW is but Kobe was with Shaq those early years.

DREW

SO FUCKING What?!? What does this have anything to do with LeBron willing going to another superstar team because he couldn’t do it as the leader of his own team after being in the league 7 years?

Kobe got recruited out of high school and got traded to the Lakers. He didn’t pick Shaq and the Lakers. Nor would he have later on his career if he had the choice.

You ARE the new drewh. Just as retarded.

That’s because he’s also the old drewh.

I CAN’T BELIEVE LEBRON JAMES IS GOING TO THE HEAT! I’m one hr. from there in Naples on the west coast. Only went to one game last season, but for sure will be attending more games this upcoming season.
Now they need to sign up Mike Miller & get a PG ahead of Chalmers.

AND, some quality big men. Can’t wait to see how this all pans out. INSANE!

And he’d be 3 championships short.

Oh, I forgot to say that on my Facbook account I said yesterday afternoon that there was no way James would sign with the Heat! And if he did I’d post up pics. of myself in a dress. SHIT.
All my friends are busting my chops big time! Hahaha, I’m a sport I will follow through.
Btw, how do I put up pics. on my FB so they can’t be printed or right click & saved? Thanks! :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol I don’t think you can do anything about the “Print Screen” button. Try not to wear something too slutty.

So, which teams MIGHT possibly be a contender next year?

Lakers
Thunder
Heat
Magic
Celtics

Chicago?
Who else?

To be fair and balanced, Sardines had a very good point when he said no one wants to go to Cleveland. I heard reports state LeBron and management were trying to entice Bosh to come to Cleveland with a sign and trade with Toronto but Bosh vehemently refused any negotiations because he simply didn’t want to play in that city. So in a hypothetical circumstance that Bosh had a different attitude LeBron would probably not go anywhere. I think LeBron realised he couldn’t stay in Cleveland because its lack of appeal to other players that he needs to ‘win.’ That throws the Cleveland argument out the window. Unfortunately, LeBron handled the whole situation poorly by not informing Cleveland management privately he was leaving. ‘The Decision’ wouldn’t be so hated by everyone if LeBron consulted better with the affected parties. Or similarly ‘The Decision’ could have been the 'The Reason" in the scenario that LeBron announced via his PR people he was going to Miami earlier in the week and the hour long special was him thanking Cleveland and explaining the rational for ‘the decision.’

As far as the actual basketball I don’t think we should be hating on LeBron for his choice. If anything we should feel sorry for him for what we think now is the end of his legacy. Why should any of us hate of some guy that did something to himself. I have a problem with the Miami choice because its bad for NBA basketball, I could care less if he doesn’t end up with the ‘Greats.’

With that being said I’ve heard some fan reaction through those SC local radio excerpts. Some people say that LeBron in Miami with Wade in Bosh could be the new LA Showtime. Its not hard to believe LeBron could become a Magic, which wouldn’t harm his legacy at all. We’ve had Kareem, Magic Worthy, why not LeBron, Wade, Bosh. Just food for thought.

For the ego part we simply don’t know. I think its premature and too assuming to state their egos will clash. We’re already looking at the flaws and how this team could already fail. Its unfair to presume that these players have egos that will cloud their drive to win together.

I will admit the whole announcement was a bitch move.

NEW: Miami Heat are supposedly after Derek Fisher. Several executives and players have already contacted Fisher and he will be in Miami to hear a pitch by Pat Riley.

Props to Riley and the Heat, they are definitely going all out to build this team up from what was scratch only a week ago. If there’s anyone I’d like to manage a team for me it’d be Pat Riley although I’m not optimistic Fisher would leave LA like that. All those years with the Lakers and his contributions to the team may start getting fuzzy for Laker fans very quickly if he does leave…

“Wade, Bosh and James all signed their six-year contracts earlier Friday night, each set to make about $2 million less than the $16.6 million they could have demanded for the coming season.”

Wheres tmoney, how much cap space do they have left now that we know Miller’s, LeBron’s, Wade’s and Bosh’s numbers?

Well the cap is 58, right? and Miller is getting 5/yr? If so, we can assume wade/bosh/bron are making 16.6-2 = 14.6 million.

Soooo then: 58 - 3*(14.6) - 5 = $9.2 Million

Sorry gettnitdone, was out this evening but I’m back haha.

Let’s see:

Wade/Bosh/Bron: $14.6M each
Miller’s deal is 5yrs/$30M, so $6M/yr
***Udonis Haslem just re-signed for $1.1M/yr (he made $7M last year)

That’s $50.9M right there for five guys, leaving approximately $7.1M

MIA is talking to Matt Barnes, who would prob make $1M/yr
MIA is also talking to Derek Fisher, but are probably only going to offer him the veteran minimum at $1.4M (Fish made $5M with the Lakers last year, to offer him $1.4M is disrespectful). Of the two, Fisher is the better choice.

Assuming either Fish or Barnes signs, we’ll say $1.5M to be conservative, so that’s $52.5M, leaving $5.5M

With that, the Heat will have nine guys left to sign with $5.5M, so unless they bring in all young guys at the minimum, they’ll be fine. Most likely, they’ll go over the cap and pay the luxury tax.
