NBA Free Agency/Offseason

LeBron gave that city his all for a good part of six years and they are going to have the audacity to get ‘mad’ if he decides to go somewhere else? Fuck them.

I completely forgot A’mare was a Knick now. Let me get this straight, A’mare, LeBron and (possibly) Parker in NY. Wow, watch out East…

Read something earlier today that naturally the people of the city of Toronto are really bad Bosh jumped ship. I expect it to rain boos when he visits (although I don’t think it’s fair to boo a guy who helped your team and city a lot).

Does anyone else feel a twist of events that will happen tomorrow, or is it just me?

Lol like what? LeBron agreeing to go to the Knicks with an immediate trade back to Cleveland for future draft picks for 10 years, 1 or 2 players and large cash considerations?

I’m still hoping he goes to Chi-Town. Screw the Knicks

HAHA something like that. Or that he’ll go to the Clippers. Or the Pistons. Or Manchester United. Or some other random team.

What if he announces he is retiring? Now THAT would be interesting.

Haha I was about to say the same thing. That would be AWESOME!

LeBron with Knicks = D’Antoni offense = tons of points/good stats to “enhance his brand” and make him MVP every year?

HAHA alright so if it happens we’ll be the first two people to say “I told ya so.”

Personally, if he sticks with Clevland, I feel like this whole circus will have been one big cock tease, and makes him seem like a self centered douche. If your going to resign with Clevland, why not just tell the team and the fans, let them plan accordingly, and focus on playing ball.

Westcoast you think Stephen Strasburg is overrated? I do…

Quite possible. D’Antoni’s offense will def help him with the scoring (and his comment he can be scoring champ every year if he wanted), enhance his own brand and make him a MVP candidate every year. But I wonder with any D’Antoni/Avery Johnson/Don Nelson/any run-n-gun team if he’ll be worn out come playoff time…

Like others have said, Durant is a class act. Have a feeling the other two big guns [Westbrook and Green] will do the same, and that OKC will be competing for rings in the very near future. Actually, didn’t Green already sign an extension? Dirk is also a classy dude. It’s cool to see two really high profile athletes at the top of their sport act like men and not spoiled prima donnas. And to everyone saying Jmaes holding his press conference in CT being a sure sign he signs with NY: ESPN’s studios are in CT. Not sure how close they are to where James is having his shindig or if there’s any connection, just something to think about. And yes, James is still King Jerkoff.

Lebron James jersey sales makes up 95% of the Cleveland economy. If he signs elsewhere, that city will be in even worse shape.

I haven’t followed this thread from the beginning and I’m not willing to read 20 pages of post so my apologies if this was touched on prior

Isn’t anyone else slightly perturbed at the outright collusion between the free agents to possibly package themselves to get (in my mind “steal”) a championship? It reeks of cherry picking to me. LB: “hey, I couldn’t win it in Cleveland, let me collude with some guys and we go to the same team and instant championship”. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Save for the player on the decline going to a contender for less money, I have never witnessed this type of collusion in pursuit of a title. I find it wanting.

Yeah, it is kind of chickenshit in a way, but teams trade for or sign other big name players pretty often so it’s not a lot different. I think the whole “picking teams” thing is more media driven than reality. Bosh signs with Miami, which is good but still doesn’t make 'em a contender. Boozer signs with Chicago, and honestly I think it’s gonna slow them down and not work out the way they hoped. I highly doubt James is gonna sign anywhere he has to share the spotlight 'cause it’s pretty obvious at this point he’s a media whore. Part of the reason we’re seeing the “teaming up” like this is there has never been this many teams with this much dough. But, Miami’s pretty much spent now, Chicago’s looking like they’re striking out and New York is the city that never could. If however, he or anyother big fish left were to sign with a team that has 2 other “names”, that would look great on paper, but it’d be a chicken shit move and not work out in reality. You and I both know that at that level there’s only so many shots to go around and some really big ego’s fighting for those shots. Something’s gotta give.

I don’t see whats wrong with “colluding” to be part of a winning team. Personally, I find that to be more admirable than chasing $.

Also, I know they’re young millionaires and always have a choice to not play, but I think it sucks to not be able to choose what city you play for (and basically have to live in for at least half the year).

Several inside sources have now told various outlets (NewsDay, ESPN’s Ric Bucher, etc) Bron is heading to MIA.
