NBA Free Agency/Offseason

I think it’s interesting Lebron is trying to recruit Bosh to sign with Cleveland. I guess he wants to stay a Cavalier.

Wayne Gretzky.

And more hockey and soccer players [I think in soccer you can have your whole contract bought by another team].

And yeah, ever since WWW said LBJ was going to the Bulls and it apparently wasn’t a done deal I haven’t cared enough to pay attention to the guy.

Roger Clemens is another

Yeah, I’m not a big baseball fan, but I think there have a been a few pitchers that have been great and played on a bunch of teams. Nolan Ryan, too.

Soccer games on now.

My impression of this recent talk is that Bosh is actually trying to recruit LBJ to sign more than a 2-3 year deal in Cleveland, because if Bosh goes there in the sign and trade being tossed out there, he will be in a 5 year deal minimum, maybe even 6; Bosh does not want to be in Cleveland for 3 years without LBJ there with him.

If Lebron won’t commit to more than 3 years, Bosh will probably not agree to the trade. Cleveland being the new front runners for Bosh came out of nowhere though. I guess Toronto likes the possibility of getting Hickson or Verajao more than say, Deng or Beasley(the players they’d get from Chi/Mia respectively) because of how absurd their contracts are.

I could be wrong, but think Beasley’s still on his rookie contract and that he’s making little in comparison. Beasley to me is one of the more talented guys around. But, there’s obviously more scaring teams off than his relative lack of production. It seems like they can’t give the guy away, and for someone with his ability that seems pretty odd. I think teams see him as a headcase and underachiever and don’t think the risk is worth the reward. On another note, been watching a bit of the summer league and Gordon Hayward has some Lamar Odom in him. He’s way more athletic than people thought, he’s long, can handle the ball, get to the rack, shoot it and passes well, but he just kinda coasts, at least so far. Gonna dvr Wall’s first game to see how he does.

Beasley’s on the last year of his dea; but there’s a team option for another. And when rumours of a trade for Bosh happened, they involved Beasley AND two other players.

Yeah good calls on these guys playing with several teams. Obviously I wasn’t thinking broad based, just a narrow focus.

I’d be really surprised if Bosh and Wade don’t end up together. These guys are like Lil Wayne and Birdman.

LeBron to announce intentions Thursday 9p EST on ESPN

Bron/Bosh/Wade to all have conference call Wednesday to discuss plans.

Where are you going to be watching Thursday 8th July at 9p.m on ESPN?

At home waiting for him, Wade and Bosh all announcing they’ll all go to the Pacers.

Or LeBron will have two hats in front of him, and choose Duke over Ohio State.

Meh. This kind of behavior annoys me.

I still don’t understand why he’d stay with Cleveland - yes they have a new coach, but they are in no way prepared to win a title anytime soon.

^^Well he is delaying his announcement because he has his Nike Basketball Camp this week and Nike has “asked” him not to make any announcements till after the Camp so it wouldnt overshadow it. That is why he announced that he’s going to announce his decision thursday so people wont be asking him about it constantly. Makes sense kinda

Heard he had over 30,000 followers before even making his 1st tweet.

Bosh to Miami with Wade.

So now that’s he’s not joining James, it makes it more likely that Bronbron goes to the Bulls, or Nets, or Knicks. For some reason I still feel like he’ll stay in Cleveland,

I agree with you on the staying in Cleveland, but Jesus he’s an egotistical douche. Holding off on answering for this long, stringing several teams along [especially Cleveland] for basically an entire season, and holding an hour long press conference to announce where he’s signing. What a jerkoff.

Looks like Mutant Russian Mark Cuban (Bill Simmons’ nickname for Mikhail Prokhorov) was correct on his prediction that Wade and Bosh will play in Miami.

For those who don’t know, he held a conference call with his inner circle shortly after meeting with LeBron, Wade, and Bosh. The information was “leaked” (on purpose, imo). During the call he said he was absolutely certain Bosh and Wade would play in Miami.
