Where’d you hear that from?

Johnson playing for D’Antoni again makes sense. Maybe they can snag Amare too, haha.
Didn’t he basically demand a trade from Phoenix due to him wanting a larger role? And, didn’t he suck it up during the playoffs and talk shit about the fans in Atlanta? Yeah, this’ll work out well.

A couple different sources have leaked that the Knicks are going to offer Joe Johnson a maximum contract as soon as the free agency period begins, and like you said, it does make complete sense.

Although I highly disapprove with your reasoning, I’m glad we agree that Johnson in NY will work out well.

Haha. Saw a thing on espn this morning that Johnson and Stoudamire are scheduled to meet with the Knicks as soon as the free agency period begins. If NY is targeting those two you have to think James and others have already let them know that they want no part of NY. I’m pretty sure that everyone already knows where the’re going, and it’s just formalities until they can legally sign.
LarryDavid wrote:
Yeah, I’m thinking the last season was an anomaly for Hedo…
That’s wishful thinking. Hedo’s had one good season and a bunch of mediocre seasons. The good season was the outlier and it was in his prime in terms of age. He’s on the back end of a pretty lackluster career and I really don’t see him improving as he ages.

If he gets around 15 ppg with decent shooting that’s really all I’d expect when I said he could work in NY. And by good shooting I mean sightly below average FG%, but above average 3P%, which is what we were expecting from him when we got him.

But it looks like the prospect of Hedo being packaged with Bosh for NY is irrelevant now anyway.

Yeah, probably. The whole July 1st thing is pretty much a joke anyway–no way teams follow all of those rules when it’s too easy to get away with it.

BTW, it looks like another source is saying it’s Bronbron+Bosh to the Bulls:

Just based on the way the Bulls and Heat have acted in the past few weeks, it seemed like they were the favourites to get LBJ/Wade and Bosh. I figured that Miami would get Wade and Bosh, but it looks like the Bulls have it locked. Miami is still probably going to sign Wade, though. Kinda dumb for LBJ to go to the Bulls IMO [especially long term], but with Deng, Noah, and now Bosh you have to imagine the Bulls are instant contenders for the title next year. I’d mention Rose, but that’s only if he survives playing beside LBJ.

So with those three gone now it’s all about the ‘other guys’. It looks like NY will have made some big signings when it’s all done, and the Heat are still a playoff team. That sucks for NJ.

Fair enough, I thought you were hoping for numbers more in line with his production at the end of his time in Orlando which I think is a tad unrealistic.

For all the praise he received during the playoff run in Orlando, most of us here didn’t care for him too much and were happy to see him go.

^^I just dont see it. I have a hard time seeing James going to Chicago

Haha, might have had something to do with him not being able to make a free throw in the Finals. He had a great playoff run last year until the Finals.

Same here, but it looks like it’s gonna happen. Weird, a guy who was hyped as having the potential to be GOAT is now settling for being the 2nd best player in the history of his team. -_-

I guess financially it makes sense. He gets a huge market without NY’s pressure.

Brazil just scored a goal while I was typing this. Multitasking FTL. I’m out.

Larry, I like to think I know ball pretty well and I’d never heard of www until around the end of the regular season. I’m guessing his ties to certain players are greatly overstated. But, who knows? The article could very well be onto something, but to me it sounds like connecting imaginary dots.

I just don’t see James or any of the first tier free agents signing with the Bulls. There’s just too much pressure for today’s soft skinned superstar. Then again they could grab who they’re after and I could be proven completely wrong. Gues we’ll see here pretty soon.
world wide Wes is the real deal in the NBA dude. He’s like Scott Boras for baseball on steroids. He has a significant amount of influence in backdoor NBA dealings.

you need to do a google research on this guy

although I should elaborate that he’s not technically a player’s agent.
Because an article in GQ says so? I’m not saying he has no pull, I’m saying it’s probably overstated. They’re making it sound like he’s the Tony Soprano of the NBA. I know he’s not an agent. I’ve seen 2 full interviews on the guy in the last month and all they’ll say is “he’s connected” and that he’s “a likeable guy” and players trust him. What the fuck does that mean? NO ONE HERE knows anything about this guy. Citing an article from a mens fashion magazine doesn’t make me a believer.
ok, u don’t have to be a wise ass about it. Did u read the article? Because it’s pretty well done even though it’s a “fashion magazine”. Also, did you miss the part about doing your own Google search. All I’m saying is I have heard about his guy for quite awhile and was surprised you didn’t? Did someone piss in your cheerios Whiteflash?

Fuck you NAUn Hedo Turkoglu is better than 80% of the wankers in the NBA. Hes a team baller, he can make your team much better if he likes the fit. Think about all the teams hes been with: Kings, Spurs, Magic…all winning ball clubs. Toronto was a FLUKE. My boy Hedo is out for redemption in 2011, just wait and see.

Dude hes the season Orlando got to the finals in 2008. The Orlando Magic/Miami Heat are like the $20 buck hookers of the NBA. They suck!

Someone can show me a written statement from James himself declaring he’s signing with the Bulls and I still won’t believe it until I see him in a Chicago uniform. I just cannot see it happening.
