NBA Finals 2013

anyway, here’s a comment from FB that caught my interest:

If MIA does win tomorrow, aren’t they clearly the weakest of all the back-to-back champ squads in league history?

(ie. LAL, BOS, CHI, HOU, DET)

this happened in college too, i believe it was tOSU vs. arizona and AZ got an extra time out because the officials had to make sure about .02 of second. such a waste of time to stop play for a review. Have the booth do it, call it down and get on with the game as quickly as possible.

Quit trying to play it off as not you. Your future bride has you holding her purse and owns your balls. We all know that. My wife owns my balls and rightfully so. I NEVER put her purse over my shoulder though. I hold it like I am wringing someone’s neck.

That is a very interesting point.

The way i look at it is this: If they win, when’s the last time a team went back-to-back and WASNT expected to win it again the next year?

Because after this season, i sure as hell dont think very many people will be picking Miami to do anything but decline, even if only slightly. The general consensus seems to be that they need to win it this year, because it may very well be the last real shot they have. And im inclined to agree.

Meh, how many other back to back teams were playing their finals against a squad with multiple dudes who have 3-4 rings themselves?

Are people really trying this hard to think of ways to discredit Miami if they win?

As soon as my fiance gives me permission to respond to this you bet your ass I will have a snarky comment.

Da fuq are you talking about? They won 27 games in a row, 66 on the season. Went through the first two rounds with one loss then had a really bad matchup against a GOOD young team who I still think would beat the Spurs. Then they are playing one of the most dominant teams in the past 15 years. Seriously? I dont get why so many people drink the miami hateraid.

And since I was a heat fan since I was like 10 I say good day sir. There is plenty of room on the bandwagon. I am packing my bags and heading down there soon for game 7 muther fuckers. Lower bowl row 21 bitches.

Just out of curiosity, what does it cost to go to game 7 of the finals?

That original comment was actually made objectively, and if anything, it speaks to James’ greatness and ability to elevate a team that has no 5, nor any bigs at all, really.

Basically until now, you needed a legit 5 (defensively legit, at least) to win. Period.

I really hope tonight is like game 1 & 6.

I will be so pissed if this game is a blowout for either team.

They’ve got more talent than the 1990 Pistons and that is my favorite team of all time. The Pistons played awesome D, moved the ball, and Isiah had more heart than all of the Miami Heat combined but I hate to admit Miami is better.

This.

I would prefer a blow out just so I can give my heart a rest, but prefer close games.

Isiah, Dumars, Aguirre, Mahorn, Laimbeer, Rodman, Salley, Microwave and J Edwards would’ve absolutely manhandled this “soft” current MIA squad

(granted, every squad was “soft” compared to the Bad Boys and comparing different eras is little more than sportsbar conversation)

That’s what I loved about them. They put a beating on everyone.

Miami is soft but the talent wise their better IMO. No one on that team is anywhere near Lebron and I’d put Wade above Dumars. There’s no match for Isiah at his position but I’d put Ray Allen above Mark Aguirre both of them were on championships in their final years.

Bosh is better than Laimbeer, Salley , and Mahorn combined. Those 3 guys weren’t even that good, they were just tough. Well, Laimbeer was crybaby but his cheap shots made him look tough lol.

If that Detroit Team played Miami in 1989, they’d crush them. If they played in 2013, they’d foul out in the first 5 minutes.

With 18 fouls between Laimbeer, Sallye, and Mahorn Bosh would be hamburger meat by the end of the 1st game. Then those 3 would move on to Wade in game 2 and Lebron in game 3. Detroit wins in 7 4 to 3.

Heh agreed on the fouling part.

But all that Bosh talk is beyond ludicrous. While he actually played like a ‘big’ in TOR, Bosh is nothing but an oversized 3 (read: spot up jump shooter) with MIA.

I’ll credit Barkley for pointing this out last year, and if anything, it’s even more true now. Yeah he’s had a few “moments” where he’s finished strong down low and blocked some shots, but they’ve literally been “moments” mixed into lengthy seven-game series vs IND, SA.

I love how Wade falls down onto Parker and then makes sure his forearm keeps pushing Parker’s head down…

They struggled throughout this whole post-season, and the Spurs damn near handed this championship to the Heat.
