NBA Finals 2013

Refs are obviously going to be a talking point again because of the 2 plays in OT, but they were pretty solidly ‘in the Spurs corner’(I mean on this forum I can’t just say they were bad right? Have to take sides!) for the first 40? 44? minutes of the game. Neither of those no-calls are unprecedented in this series either(especially Ginboli’s, the refs have been swallowing the whistle all series long on drives in the paint).

The game doesn’t get to OT if the Spurs grab 1 board in the final 20 seconds, or make 1 more FT in the final 40. Pop let the Heat grab a super super quick 8-0 run to start the 4th quarter with TD and TP on the bench, and Jesus Shuttlesworth hit that 3 that will be immortalized in basketball highlights forever. Can we please talk about this stuff instead?

Do you know how much of a roller-coaster this series has been for me as a Spurs fan? It’s crazy. I’m legitimately anxious for Thursday’s Game 7 after the Spurs GAVE AWAY that Game 6. Out of all teams in the league, you’d expect the Spurs to be most apt at not crumbling under pressure and FINISHING off a ball game.

Listen, the Spurs should have won Game 6. I’m not going to carry any melancholy beyond the momentary and immediate disappointment if the Spurs lose Game 7 because I know I’ll be willing to accept the fact the best team won. I will root 100% for the Spurs Thursday but if they lose I’ll accept the fact Miami earned it. If you can beat a veteran and pristine Spurs team in a Game 7 for the championship, you deserve that championship point blank.

The NBA is a joke

One of the most brutal parts was the fact Miami fans were leaving the game with a minute still left and the heat down 4

BTW, ‘game is fixed for Miami’ people: Tim Duncan threw the inbound pass to end regulation. Here’s a fun question: How did Tim Duncan get in the game to end regulation when the Spurs had no timeouts remaining?

Bring on game 7.

As an LAL fan, I can’t exactly complain.

But damn they make this shit too obvious.

Yeah. In a game that close, (missed) calls like that are inexcusable.

Im more angry at Popo and the Spurs though. Running the same fucking play the entire 4th when it clearly wasnt working? Parker trying to force his selfish ass hero shots and miserably failing…Manu being a huge liability…No fucking ball movement…Hard to believe the NBA’s (possibly) best coach was behind that one.

They handed Miami the fucking game. Yes im bitter cause i hate Miami but you cant deny that Spurs had that game and gave it away.
Bro, right there with you. I cannot stand the Heat. The whole team has that I am the shit attitude and it’s fucking annoying. This is just like the Eastern Conference Finals last year with Miami and Boston. Boston was up 3-2 and had the game in their control near the end of the 4th and lost it. Then lost game 7. I don’t even want to watch game 7…
i can already tell you i will check in for the 4th quarter of game 7 and thats it. Im not losing any more sleep over this shit.

I was literally 30 minutes late for work today because not only was i up until 11:30 watching the game when im supposed to get up at 5:30 am, then i couldnt fucking sleep cause i got so worked up and pissed off over it.

Just got back to Orlando this morning. My brain still can’t handle what i was just apart of. Not sure if you guys were able to see it on TV, but they were brining out the trophy! I mean all around the court there were maybe 40 ushers getting into position with ropes and barriers. I just remember looking at my dad before Lebron hitting the 3 and being just broken. When ray Allen hit that shot… It got rowdy for a bit.

Getting my game 7 tix at 2 on the dot today

Btw the spurs blew it. I mean just blew it. Like I side they were bringing out the trophy, we could all see it! Just needed to hit one of those free throws and get 1 defensive rebound… I’m still in shock.

LMAO, right there with ya. Still have a pounding headache. Slept through my alarm for 40 minutes. 40 MINUTES!! Why the hell is a game 7 on Thursday. It should be on Friday. I don’t think I can recoup by Thursday night.

Believe me, i have not gotten a good night’s sleep on a weekday in a few weeks, and its mostly due to these finals.

If the Spurs look like they have a good shot in the 4th quarter during game 7, ill turn it on. If they are losing im going to bed and hopefully ill wake up to some good news in the am.

This. I could not go to sleep and took Melatonin two hours before, and was so worked up.

well played…

Almost forgot this gem. Buddy in the row in front of me holding his 'lady’s purse the whole game. Wonder if she had him keep his own balls in it.

I’m not a Lebron fan or hater but damn he looked nervous. Hopefully he doesn’t play like that next game. Not that I give a fuck who wins, but when he’s on point he’s awesome to watch.

Putting Wade back in with 5 minutes fucked up their flow. Not that he played horrible but they were in a good rhythm with their shooters out their and Lebron being aggressive on offense. Tough call for Spolestra.

Anyone catch the postgame press conference with Popovich? That dude is the best!

Wish somebody wouldve asked him why the fuck he kept running the Parker/Duncan pick and roll the whole god dam fourth quarter when it clearly wasnt working out for them.

How does he not even crack a smile? “I put them on a bus and drive them to the arena”… That’s gold Jerry! Gold!

Miami’s still getting obvious ref favoritism, but (outside of Wade) they’re letting them play more than normal, and it’s completely fucking with James’ game. He’s so used to getting bailed out EVERY SINGLE TIME, that now that they’re actually not just granting him ft’s every time he bulls his way to the bucket, he doesn’t know how to play. He’s being exposed as the overrated “golden child” that he is. Every generation the league manufactures a new “chosen one”. James is this generations “it”. He just plain doesn’t have the game or the will of his predecessors, and without CONSTANT ref bailouts, it shows.
I typically agree with WF but not here.

Sure, James isn’t (and won’t ever be) the coldblooded assassin that Jordan/Bryant are but then again, neither of them were the facilitator/playmaker/shotblocker that James has become.

It’s beyond ridiculous just how much MIA expects/needs him to do every night, and how his absolutely insane stat lines are taken for granted by now. To me, he’s absolutely earned his ‘best player period’ status.

Good catch. There’s offseason work to be done on these replay checks, esp at the endgame.
