NBA FINALS 2011

Look past all the talk and all the LBJ criticism and the Heat are still favourites next year. You saw it during the series, the Heat are still figuring it out. Mario Chalmers has a bright future, he’s their future PG. Add in a few other role players (i.e what Mike Miller was supposed to be) and you’ve got the best team in the league bar-none.

I also think an overlooked part of Miami’s failure has been the friendship between LBJ and Wade. They are two tight, the best friend team may be detrimental to the team. What the fuck is up with the two man LBJ Wade press conferences anyway. Get that shit out of here or at least bring Bosh in. It’s the Big 3, right? But just think about it, how many successful teams have had their most important players being “best friends” off the court. Looking at history it’s actually the opposite: Shaq-Kobe (it’s complicated), Michael-Pippen (it’s complocated?), Kobe-anyone expect Derek Fisher. From all accounts Kobe doesn’t “hang” with Lamar and Khloe, or any of that shit. Him, and Nowitzki, know it’s about getting the job done; getting down to business. Forming a “couple” on the team just destroys chemistry and makes the other guys feel isolated. You’re either best friends with everyone on the team or you’re just “professional” friends with everyone.

From what I can gather it seems Wade is the leader in the Wade-LBJ relationship, which is not really that surprising given LBJ’s aptitude for submissiveness but nevertheless kind of pathetic. I really have no concrete evidence to support this as I don’t know anything about their off the court lives, but it’s the subtle things that give it away. For example notice how in the press conferences Wade is the one making the team related statements, LBJ just answers questions related to him. When a reporter throws a question at him about the Miami Heat (like if they choked) LBJ just defers it to Wade. Also, notice how LBJ usually walks behind Wsde (i.e the coughgate video) – when Wade coughed he looked at LBJ and he coughed. LBJ needs to stop being Wade’s bitch and man up. His on the court performance starts with cleaning up his private life. I wouldn’t be surprised, in fact I bet that there are some shadow people behind LBJ that influence his decisions (his manager, HS buddy etc. who probably also orchestrated ‘The Decision’).

This says it all.

That dude has to be so proud of Dirk. He’s been his shooting coach since Dirk was 16.

I think it’s overlooked because it wasn’t a major factor in why they lost the finals.

Yeah, teammates being close friends is always bad.

What the fuck?

Prosecutors stress that “they have no evidence that a sex tape exists and said O’Neal is not involved in the case.” The Times reported.

Yeah some unrelated gangsters just randomly cared a whole lot that a Shaq’s sex tape never make it out. TOTALLY plausible they randomly found out about the tape and decided to give a shit and risk criminal charges for someone who was not involved with them.

My rapid post count increase is going to go down significantly without the bball threads.

lol The mavs know how to celebrate thats for sure.

Huh? did you miss the part where the PROSECUTORS (not the defending attorney) said that they have no evidence that a sex tape even exists?

I feel ya on the post count thing. I’ve racked up QUITE a few posts in the NBA/NFL threads (not that i care) but now I’m not going to have much to chat about :frowning:

word

I’m guessing this off-season isn’t going to be close to as good as the last one, especially with the lockout looming. So I don’t even think we’ll have a NBA Off-Season thread this year.

I’ll just keep the post count up the old fashioned way, by posting in gregron’s uber-popular training log.

take that lebron lol

If there’s no basketball or football next year I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself

aw damn

A very belated FUCK YEAH from me.

PS watched the post-series interviews and LBJ is a bitch. That is all.

I always love that dollar joke. Heehee

LBJ is a bitch[/quote]

I don’t think he was a bitch so much as too hard on himself.
They’ll find their groove and familiarity then dominate.

I was mainly referring to the [you guys will wake up tomorrow with your average life] bullshit LBJ spun after G6 or something along those lines. Really wasn’t called for and just made him look like a sore loser. I was KINDA starting to like him heading into G1, but by the end of G6 it just reaffirmed to me that he’s a P.O.S.

I don’t deny that Miami will win multiple rings in the coming years and they WILL do it with LBJ, Wade & Bosh.

I’m almost game to bank on a 60 win 2011/12 season with some subtle changes.

I’m interested to see what happens with the D Howard situation … whether or not they’ll try and bank in on it (hope they don’t) but I don’t see it as a no-option especially if Orlando doesn’t make a move to get a better roster for Dwight.
