Agreed. He’s a bigger, faster more athletic Rose with a better jumper. His first step and ability to finish over/through defenders is bananas.
If Rose comes back as he was, he’s maybe an .125 a step behind westbrook, both are freaks athletically but westbrook having never missed a game gives him the edge. That’s bizarre to be honest that ever since high school, he’s played in every game given how he plays.

I wonder if we’d seen Westbrook’s improvement this year in the presence of Harden?

Some guys are just genetically durable i think. Hell, its incredible to me that in Lebron’s time in the NBA we havent seen a torn ACL or achilles given how physical he is and all the time he’s put in on the court.

Lebald will have a serious injury, one which will forever change him as a player and force that he is. Just have to wait until he re-signs with Cleveland…

Had a good laugh, thanks for that

The media is already saying what a perfect ending it would be him to come back to Cleveland, make nice with everyone, WIN a title, and be one of the transcendent stars in the world.

That shit doesnt happen here, and the real fairytale ending is that he comes back, and gets hurt. It will be called “The Injury” and will be one more reason why this city sucks balls.

Lol. You’re probably right. I dont think anyone outside cleveland will be so quick to embrace him and make him the darling of the NBA.

I also truly believe its only a matter of time before we do see him side-lined for most, if not all of a season due to injury. I just cant see the guy continuing to play at the level he does, at his size/weight, going much longer before his body says fuck this shit, im tired of this bigass mofo hopping around all the damn time.

off topic:
I was at the gym watching an OKC post game show and they showed Westbrook with his usual flashy attire. These 3 women standing next to me commented “That player is definitely gay and will come out later” Then on Sunday, Westbrook had his sleeveless shirt, gold chain and glasses and my wife commented if he was gay. Damn women making comments that don’t relate to basketball. Kind of like this post. lol

When it comes to athletic point guards now and of the past, everyone says Rose and Westbrook are neck and neck. But I think a young Baron Davis was was just as explosive and quick. And he was bigger, being 6’3 210.

I think Westbrook’s a little more explosive, but i think Rose is hands down the more agile of the two, and capable of driving on multiple defenders better than westbrook because of it. They are both athletic freaks though. A pleasure to watch.

some harrowing moments tonight in the OKC/Houston game, they pulled it out though.

I dont think Rockets played that much better, i think OKC just didnt play as good as they did in game 1. I’ll be surprised if game 3 is as competitive. Either way, entertaining game, glad they got the W.

Did the Warriors put on the best playoff shooting performance of all-time last night, or what? Fuck Denver, the Warriors are gonna blow 'em out when the series comes to Oakland. That arena is going to be twice as loud as any of the other arenas in the playoffs on Friday. Fuck Madison Square Garden and Staples Center and all that other cheap bullshit. Oracle Arena: best atmosphere and fans in the NBA, hands down. Warriors by 20.

CP3 > Westbrooke/D.Will > healthy D.Rose > Rondo

Kyrie needs another solid year, and maybe a game or 2 on national TV to be in that discussion. He’s already a better shooter than anyone listed above.
DWill over Rose and Rondo? You’re actually going there EVEN after this season?

Either you’re oblivious to DWill’s lack of ANYTHING but perceived underachieving this season or you’re being ignorant.

CP3 may be the best point guard of the group but Rose is the best player of those you have mentioned.

I can’t believe people actually think Westbrook is better than DRose.

Tell me, who would you rather pick to build a team around? Probably the best test to gauge who’s “better” than who.

DRose is a proven leader. When you play the Bulls you play DRose AND the Bulls. There’s a intangible goodwill almost, to borrow a term from accounting, to DRose that he’s been able to build in his young career. There’s only a handful of guys in the league that demand respect and carry that goodwill; I’m taking about LeBron, KD, Kobe and Tim Duncan, and DRose.

The Rockets need to get the ball to Chandler Parsons. I was hoping he was going to break out during this series.

This is what ive been saying. Westbrook has the second best player in the league along side him, plus an all-around great offensive team, complimented well by guys like Ibaka and Martin.

CPIII has superstar Blake Griffin on his side, regardless whether Rondo has a ring or not, he was surrounded by 3 future hall of famers when he did it. Rose the only superstar on his team, by a long-shot too. if he plays bad, the bulls lose. If he plays good, the bulls win. That says a lot.

Westbrook is incapable of leading a team like that. And to those saying he is somehow more controlled than Rose? Look at last nights game. Yeah he put up good points, but gave Houston way too many opportunities by forcing shots when he shouldnt/didnt need to take them. It was just frustrating to watch. And when he tries to drive on 3 defenders and constantly gets denied, i cant help but think “He needs to realize he’s not Derrick Rose.” He’s improved, but when the pressures on, he is not nearly as clutch as Rose is.

And Tony Parker and D. Will? just…just no.

I was beginning to think i was going crazy here. Seems like there’s a lot of disdain for Rose. I assume much of this comes from his controversial MVP win. Yeah Lebron had a better year, but guess what, that year Rose was undeniably the best PG in the league. Its not even questionable.

I dont think we’ll be able to put this argument to rest until hes back in there though, post-injury. See how he still holds up to CPIII and Westbrook.

On another note, if OKC goes all the way this year and gets a ring, will it be one of the toughest/best post-season runs in NBA history?

In all likelihood, OKC is gonna have to finish the rockets, then face the clippers, then the spurs, and then miami. So essentially they will have to play the 3 best teams in the league, in a row, not named OKC to get that ring. Miami has it easy in comparison.

That’s just a few and he’s not even top ten. I know people probably think I’m crazy putting Kyrie there but the dude is a complete package and the sky is the limit for him being it his second year. DRose isn’t close to being top 5.
Sorry but after watching at least 20 Nets games this season, there is no way I put Deron Williams over Rose. I know this shit is subjective but he doesn’t make my top 10. Going by this season , I would put Harden and Rose over him. If he was that good, the Nets would have a much better record. He’s putting up mediocre numbers for a top 10 player caliber player and he’s one of the main reasons the Nets underachieved. (Joe Johnson is the other reason).

Agreed. I expected the nets to take second seed in the east this season. Mainly due to the tandem of Johnson and D will

Between the 2 of them, there is no way I thought I’d say this if you asked me back in September…but Brook Lopez was their best player this year.

I said (either last year or in this thread) that Baron Davis is the most physically impressive pg in league history. Big, strong, quick, fast, agile, jumped out the gym, ridiculous hand-eye coordination and built like a linebacker. Never been anyone with that package before (or since). Too bad he never took great care of himself.
