NBA 2012 - 2013

I said (either last year or in this thread) that Baron Davis is the most physically impressive pg in league history. Big, strong, quick, fast, agile, jumped out the gym, ridiculous hand-eye coordination and built like a linebacker. Never been anyone with that package before (or since). Too bad he never took great care of himself.
I remember that post. I’ve always been impressed with that dude. It’s amazing he did all that after an ACL tear in college.

2003-2008 that he was a monster. Always fun to watch. Not so much anymore.

Sup Sam? Yeah, people forget that he tore his ACL. He also ballooned up to like 250 after and had to whittle back down to playing weight, something that he battled with pretty much his whole career. He’s one of those dudes that things just came so easily to that I don’t think he ever felt the need to put in the work to reach that NEXT level.

I’ve had people laugh when I said Davis could have been HOF if he’d taken his conditioning seriously among other things.
My friend often told he’d see Davis smoking and drinking after games here in Oakland.

Did the Warriors put on the best playoff shooting performance of all-time last night, or what? Fuck Denver, the Warriors are gonna blow 'em out when the series comes to Oakland. That arena is going to be twice as loud as any of the other arenas in the playoffs on Friday. Fuck Madison Square Garden and Staples Center and all that other cheap bullshit. Oracle Arena: best atmosphere and fans in the NBA, hands down. Warriors by 20.
Of all-time, no chance. Not after those 2004 rule changes that have made it all but impossible to defend quick guards like Curry. Still, 131pts at DEN is awfully impressive.

And I’ll grant that GS fans show up. I can remember that (1) vs (8) upset vs DAL and the energy that homecrowd provided, def fun to watch. But then, let’s not credit those fans too much, after all what the fuck else is there to do in the yay? By contrast, LA fans got a million other worthwhile things (plus ugly traffic) going on to explain their typical tardiness.

And of course, there’s a reason such a saying exists: live in NYC once but leave before it makes you hard. live in northern CA once but leave before it makes you soft…

Baron was one of those very frustrating types: All-NBA during a contract year, super-underachiever everytime else

Ill definitely agree that Baron was/is an underachiever but he was beginning to decline even before the ACL injury. Even if that hadnt happened, people wouldnt be talking about him today amongst the likes of Rose, CPIII and Westbrook.

Wallace is going to be having nightmares about trying to guard Deng after this game…

Bulls defense is fucking on tonight.

You do realize that he tore it during his freshman year of college and he had several seasons where he was AT LEAST their statistical equal, right?

Only really memorable B. Diddy moment I remember is when he posterized Andre Kirilenko in that second-round playoff series against the Jazz, after they had just beat the Mavericks in one of the biggest upsets in NBA playoff history.

What was it, 2007? Ah, those were the days…

Yes, i do. And he came back from it successfully that time. Point?

Oh Christ.

Russell Westbrook just tore his meniscus and is now out indefinitely.

It took MWP 12 days to return from a torn meniscus… Maybe he’ll return…

So much for westbrook being durable.

The west is officially up for grabs.

There go OKC’s hopes for a championship.

Prediction: Miami will repeat and people will put an asterisk beside this title as well

“first one didn’t count, shortened season.”

“Second one didn’t count either, OKC didn’t have a healthy Westbrook.”

Disagree, it’s not like the cheated, and i doubt OKC will even get to the finals.

What chances are you guys giving the Spurs to win it all? I just feel like so are so complete and they are deep as hell! I am not a fan of the Spurs but they are fun to watch.

I think they match up well with the heat. And since the heat have no big men, it should make for an interesting series.

Check this tweet :

@ESPNSteinLine: Been hearing rumbles all week Raptors were planning to make run at Phil Jackson to offer team presidency Phil craves. All makes sense now

The Westbrook news has shattered all of my playoff hopes. So disappointing, ill watch the bulls until they get knocked out and then i might call it a season lol.

Without Westbrook i dont see them getting past the spurs unless Durant can go all Melo on em and start hitting 39 points per game.
