Are you serious with “does anyone actually care about the first round?” The first round usually has some of the closest and most competitive series in the entire playoffs. It’s also where there’s the greater chance of upsets, in terms of the number of match-ups and because underdogs come out with something to prove, especially the teams with limited playoff exposure.

I thought we all watched NBA basketball 'cuse we loved the game?

Hell yeah i care about the first round, as a Bulls fan its the only one i think we can win.[/quote]
Yep, lol. These injuries dough…

Too bad the Celtics threw the game away. 18 turnovers is pathetic especially with that 3rd and 4th quarter scoring.

They need Rondo.

sick finish by Dre Miller

I know I’ve been at the front of criticizing the first round here, but I do have to say that this first day of games was scheduled amazingly, starting the playoffs off with the 4 series people picked to be really close(Experts were mostly for NYK, but in 6 or 7, BKN/CHI is basically split, MEM/LAC same, and while DEN has unanimous support the playstyle of that series should be entertaining anyway). Then star power/storylines might be able to carry the other series.

I may have been too quick to judge this year’s crop.

Damn, Brooklyn’s Finest indeed. I wonder how D-Rose is feeling watching his Bulls getting slaughtered. I’m not watching the game so I don’t know if he’s with the team but if he isn’t you have to fathom he’s close to changing the channel pretty soon, if he hasn’t already.

Bulls playing like total shit.

Knicks were lucky to take game 1.

That one hurt…

Bulls came out flat, not being able to rely on Noah is hurting them too.

Wonder if this’ll be the year they blow it up and rebuild. Here’s to hoping i might soon see Grainger and Mayo out there with Rose in the not too distant future LOL

Knicks did not play great, but to say they were lucky isn’t true, it was a tight game throughout, the knicks didn’t turn the ball over and hit big shots in the end. It wasn’t luck, they played better when it counted.

Yeah, Boston really gave Knicks some good opportunities to capitalize in the latter part of the game, and the Knicks did.

True. They needed more offensive firepower even with a healthy D Rose.

And not re-signing Asik continues to look worse and worse.

True. Nothing fluky about that lockdown defense thru the entire 2nd half.

Not denying those facts but the lack of a play maker for Boston was evident. Boston’s 4th quarter offensively was horrible.

Saw that story, but huge difference between gauging interest and extending actual offer.

That’s true.

But I can see something being there for the simple reason it makes sense for both teams.

Jonas plays good D, has some offensive game and is consistent on the boards. If you look at his rookie stats they’re actually on par with Bosh’s 1st year.

Also what the casual observer of the Raptors misses is that they never really gave him the ball. Lowry and to a lesser extent Gay made an effort later in the year to give him the ball in the post, but it still didn’t happen very often. However, no matter how little they fed him the ball in the post, he kept going back there all year to fight for a good post up position. Excellent example of his desire to work hard.

You have to understand, the Raptors literally only run 2 plays on offense (I’m not kidding) - ISO for Gay/DeRozan and high pick-‘n’-roll with Lowry/Amir Johson.

To me he’d be a good fit for OKC to replace Perkins. Plus hasn’t Durant shown he’s more than capable to handle the void in playmaking left by Harden?

We know how great Harden has been, but Asik and Parsons have been excellent for Houston.

At the time though Bulls were making a good decision. Its biting them now, but hindsight is always 20/20.

I gotta agree, were Rondo not injured you have to think the Celtics would have nabbed that first W.

I don’t know if I agree. They invested a ton in Asik by drafting and developing him. How can you do that, and then just let him go when he hits his prime?

At the time it was hard to justify the money, i wish he had stayed but i agreed that he had to go. looking back on it now, with who the Bulls are paying too much for, and how Asik’s played this season in Houston, we shoulda paid up.

Second day of playoffs hasn’t exactly been as exciting as yesterday. Hopefully OKC and Houston is at least moderately competitive. Houston needs to contain the OKC offence from the first-tip if they want to have any chance of winning.

Watched the LAL-SAS game, pretty terrible.

I think this HOU-OKC series could go 6 but probably 5.
