That’s been the discussion all year about whether to trade him, but he isnt going anywhere cheap

Well the Lakers stink and “D12” can’t shoot free throws.
Marc Gasol will be better than Dwight Howard in a few years.

Feels like Varejao is on the trade block every year as the ‘not-so-sneaky-good energy guy down low.’ Nothing ever comes of it. I’m sure the Cavs are (rightfully) asking for a good package for him because he’s clearly worth something, and I’m glad they haven’t caved in year after year.

The Linsanity is over, and the truth is Jeremy Lin just isn’t that great

Maybe the Knicks management should get some credit then? They sure got shit on when they wouldn’t sign him. I’ll admit, I wanted him to stay as well and I’m willing to eat my own words if Lin remains a mediocre player the rest of his years.
Looks like Felton is working out just fine.

As a Spurs fan I really don’t care. This fine isn’t just for the Spurs, it’s to try set a precedent so other teams don’t employ similar tactics. What’s more interesting to me is how people seem to consider Duncan, Parker and Manu Ginobli exciting players all of sudden - to the extent their exclusion from a single game is worthy of disciplinary action. I thought the Spurs were boring? I think this point just further supports the theory of Stern trying to instil some kind of precedent to act as deterrence for teams resting their star players just because they can.
I will say, it would be hilarious if every team decided to rest their star players on a particular game day just as a show of rebellion. [/quote]
I have to say though, it does suck as a fan when you pay $120 a ticket to see superstars but end up seeing scrubs play instead. I paid that much to watch the Heat/Nets play last year and they rested D-Wade and Deron Williams that game. Really disappointing.
Lakers at Rockets tonight. Trying to go see the game with some buddies, but we Mugabe bullshitted too long and the tickets are gone/too expensive. Keep y’all posted.

Cavs need to clean up some of that bench roster and they are an instant playoff team. That 6 million that Walton is eating up is an absolute cancer for the team. Couple seasoned scoring vets off the bench would do A LOT in turning around that franchise.
Don’t think Varejao is going anywhere any time soon.

Walton is gone after this year, dude has no business dressing for nba games. Theyll have another lottery pick this year, which hopefully turns into a good starter. They really need to get another big man who can score. Andy is great, and should be an all-star but scoring isnt his strong point.
Houston beats LA 107-105.
Kobe scores 39 but throws up 31 shots. It looks like the Lakers play better when Kobe ISN’T trying to takeover the game. He needs to takeover the game at crucial times to effectively `poison’ the other team like a real mamba. Look at the game last Friday night against the Nuggets - Kobe was dishing it and creating action, therefore helping facilitate the offensive success of the team, specifically the reserves.
The last two recent LA championships occurred when Kobe was scoring in that 24-30 range with quality production from Bynum and more importantly, Gasol. I don’t understand why Kobe feels the need to take control of games, like he has been recently, when he has Dwight Howard and some nice streak shooters on his roster. It may be a hint that he doesn’t believe in his team. Or maybe D’Antoni is telling him to start going in 2007 mode again. The Lakers don’t have deep team.
I want to get chillains opinion on a comment I saw on a blog last week. Vaguely paraphrasing what I read: the Lakers have a much better record if LeBron is on that team instead of Kobe. Thoughts?
I’m trying to get to a Lakers game too in January.
Throw up a pic if you end up going to a game WF
lakers lost to magic and heats lost to wizards.
i say wizards and magic for the finals

Didn’t go, but they’re coming back in a couple of months. Gonna get tickets here in the next couple of weeks so I don’t miss it.

i highly doubt stern would allow that to happen

If u can digup the link, I’d be interesting in reading/sharing it.
I’ll take the easy route and say “no” - LAL’s slow start this year is almost entirely about lack of commitment to team defense. That’s the one constant even when HC-Brown was still around and they were struggling offensively.
On the whole Bryant-James debate, Coach K was on DP show this a.m. - Bryant/Jordan are the assassins, hyper-competitive, pure scorer types and Lebron/Magic are the ‘get-all-five-players-involved’ types. And its pointless to try and argue for one school over the other, those are simply four of the greatest ever.
Speaking of Varejao, by the time James left, I’d say Varejao was the clear 2nd-best player on those CLE squads. (nope I can’t ignore that terrible individual defense that Williams and Jamison brought to the table) But in light of that, is it any wonder that Lebron left? Why doesn’t CLE front-office get more blame for trying-but-failing to surround him w/legit talent??

b/c they were trying to build with what was available at the time and trying to win ASAP. Had lebald resigned, the front office could have had a more long term approach to build a legit team. Instead they signed guys like shaq, and jamison in hopes of it being enough to win, and as a result keep his doucheness in town.
The only horrible moves that stand out to me are signing larry hughes to a ludicrous contract, when he was playing well the cavs were unbeatable, but that only happen once a month.
The other was drafting Luke jackson… yeah i know, who the fuck is that.
Blazers 0/20 from 3 point line now. Raptors losing by double digits. How? Is suicide the answer?
I hope somebody shoots Landry Fields.
I can see why this thread is so dead.
Raptors shit as usual
Lakers shit
Wizards shit
Bulls shit
The only team that’s followed by posters here that are doing well is the Knicks
lakers are shit.
trade steve blake artest and gasol plzthks.
