I don’t know if scj119 still checks this thread but: I was wrong about Kyle Lowry.
Think WF pointed out his quality too.
Raps would probably waste the draft pick on another terrible non-black player anyway.

Great game between nets and knicks so far…J Kidd not playing hurts…how is is that Camby looks like the guy who hasnt played in the NBA for 2 years
uhhh can we grab a rebound?

That was a tough one for the Knicks but a great game to watch. I think this is going to become a great rivalry. They both like to bomb away from the 3 point line but the Nets surprisingly looked a littler tougher inside. Reggie Evans was just snatching rebounds from people.
Brooklyn is a little out of the way for me but I think I’m going to catch the next game at the Garden if I could get my paws on some tickets the next time they play each other.

I don’t know when scj119 will be back but: I was also wrong when I said that Magic’s collection of buzzer-beaters is comparable to Jordan’s. In fact, Magic’s reel far surpasses that of Jordan’s.
So while I was wrong when this came up last season, clearly, scj was even wronger.
I caught the Nets/Celtics game last night. As a Celtics hater my whole life(since Bird/McHale), it was a good night for me. Rondo decided to end his assist streak by starting a fight for no real reason which got him ejected. And even better, Joe Johnson broke Pierce’s ankles on this play:
Rondo’s ejection:
Big deal, Humphries made some contact on a layup. For some crazy reason, they gave Humphries a T on the foul and then other one for the fight in which he was backing away from Rondo. Bunch of bullshit.
Yeah saw the highlights definitely dumb. I also Thabeet get ejected last night for putting his hands on the ref. what an idiot.
I was kinda disappointed Harden and the Rockets were blown out by OKC.
Kinda wanted to see Harden dominate the Thunder.
How can Stern fine the Spurs $250,000 for resting players when it doesn’t break any rules? I don’t get it.
Is there a rule being broken here that none of the articles are talking avout?

There was no fines last year. I’ve never cheered so hard in my life for the Spurs as I did last night.

Breaking sterns rule that the nba is entertainment and not competition
As a Spurs fan I really don’t care. This fine isn’t just for the Spurs, it’s to try set a precedent so other teams don’t employ similar tactics. What’s more interesting to me is how people seem to consider Duncan, Parker and Manu Ginobli exciting players all of sudden - to the extent their exclusion from a single game is worthy of disciplinary action. I thought the Spurs were boring? I think this point just further supports the theory of Stern trying to instil some kind of precedent to act as deterrence for teams resting their star players just because they can.
I will say, it would be hilarious if every team decided to rest their star players on a particular game day just as a show of rebellion.
Much easier to have them dress, and sit at the end of the bench for the whole game.
lol at these commentators acting like Jodie Meeks going 5-5 from 3 is the most amazing thing ever. he scored 55 for Kentucky in college for crying out loud. there is nothing ‘meek’ about his performance. badabing.
fuck jalen rose is probably the worst analyst at ESPN behind jerry rice and that fat linebacker ottis or whatever his name is. Rose’s whole schtick is “im a former player so everything I say must be right or better than anyone elses opinion.”
The Linsanity is over, and the truth is Jeremy Lin just isn’t that great
Jeremy Lin isn’t who we thought he was.
I say that with some regret, some embarrassment – and all certainty. He’s not what we thought he was last year, when we thought he was a special player. Turns out he was a regular player on a special streak, and there’s no shame in that. He had the best streak of any new starter in NBA history, becoming the first to average 27.2 points in his first five starts, and to average 20 ppg and seven assists in the same stretch.
The things Jeremy Lin was doing last season defied explanation at the time, and they defy explanation now. Because he’s not that guy. I mean, he’s not close to that guy. He hasn’t been that guy since those first five games, actually. When, in the history of the NBA, has a player’s first five starts been – far and away – his best five starts? I’m guessing it had never happened until Jeremy Lin came along.
This season in Houston, Lin is averaging 10.3 points and 6.8 assists in 34.4 minutes per game. Those are decent numbers. They’re average, though his shooting accuracy (37.7 percent from the floor) and turnovers (3.1 per game) aren’t average. Those numbers are awful.
Fucking finally eh?
That long heated discussion about whether he was held down to his race was so dumb.

Meeks and Jamison played great last night. As a Lakers fan it feels so good to see the bench putting up points but 62 from the reserves is crazy lol
Seems like the team is starting to mesh but it’s still very hit or miss… Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

What kind of douchebag writes an article about how bad another player is? What if he’s wrong by the end of this year or next?
Idiot.
Varejao probably has a bunch of teams eyeing him off. MASSIVE improvement this season 15.1 RPG so far.
