NBA 2012 - 2013

It’s very hollyweird of a phill to come back as the savior, and hopefully beat the heat in the finals.

although someone needs to punk howard and tell him they hired stan van, just for his reaction.

“Irving is special. Only 14 guards in the NBA last season shot 40 percent or better from beyond the 3-point line. That group includes Ray Allen, Steph Curry, J.J. Reddick, and Kyle Korver. Kyrie Irving is also on this list. Only 15 guards in the NBA last season shot at least 45 percent of their shots close to the basket. And that group includes Tony Allen, Dwyane Wade, Andre Miller, and Jeremy Lin. Kyrie Irving is also on this list. This is why he is special: He is on both of those lists. In fact, not only is he is the only guy on both of those lists; he is certainly the only 20-year-old guy on either of those lists. The future is bright is Cleveland.”

It’s a long way to go, but I’ll take Miami if they meet LA in the Finals. Better bench for now. But hey, I like the Warriors, so what do I know.

I donated blood two weeks ago and Red Cross provided vouchers for free tickets to LAC game. Choice of opponents included SA, ATL, CLE, NO, MIN, GS, some other non-playoff teams.

Took me all of 2 seconds to select CLE as my 1st choice, SA as 2nd choice… but then noticed the actual game dates were just days away (and it was mail-in type voucher thing)

Annoyed at missing K Irving in particular, I just threw the damn thing away.

Agreed.

The legit prospect of another ring or two is nice but the thought of turning around an 2-16 start (including preseason) is probably the challenge he’s after.

Should be awesome.

Lakers hire Mike D’Antoni instead!!!

I wonder if their excuse that the Princeton offense wouldn’t suit the current roster is true.

I’m having trouble buying it.

I told Greg (in another thread for some reason) that I thought D’antoni would be a good fit here. The triangle is predicated around high post passing and player movement, which takes the ball out of Nash’s hands and basically renders him useless, not to mention that Dwight Howard just plain isn’t smart enough to get it. As silly as this might sound, I still think the Princeton offense suits this team really well. They just need to get comfortable with all of the movement and spacing. Let’s see what D’antoni’s got.

Whoops, I might’ve jinxed it greg.

But like others, I’m def pleased with the hire.

(And I’ve gotta call my dad now, he was saying “Anyone but Phil again!!” all weekend long)

Initial reaction: bummed that its not Phil coming to town with his 11 Rings.

After thinking about it: I’m excited about it. He was my first choice (aittefly because I thought Phil wouldn’t actually come back lol) I think his familiarity with Nash will be huge. His system will be easier to implement and will utilize our current roster better than the triangle IMO. This team roll be good to go and I think the Lakers Brass didmt want to give in to all of Phil’s demands: not traveling to all the games, ownership stake with the lakers, player personnel control and more money per year than D’Antoni will make throughout his entire contract.

This will be interesting to see but I’m definitely optimistic.

The man of the people Stephen A. Smith just said Laker fans are “too intelligent to buy” the Mike D’Antoni hiring.

Guess y’all are some dumb Laker fans.

Stephen A Smith is a Level 4 douche (the scale only goes from 1-3)

Agreed. Don’t have cable now, but when I did I’d change the channel when he or Skip Bayless came on. Not sure if there’s two more whiney, obnoxious, effeminate, passive aggressive douchebags on the planet.

Raps-jazz going into 3 OT. John Lucas who has been terrible all year hits a game tying 3 to go into 3 OT.

Crazy game .

I just watched the end of the Heat-Rockets game where Lebron basically took over the 4th quarter.

with 7 seconds left and the Rockets 3 down, the Rockets give Harden the ball, he basically stands still the whole time and shoots a 3 over Lebron which bonks the side of the rim. That guy really is in “star mode.”

I’ll tell you what Get: if you’re ever stateside, shoot me a PM.

And if we can swing it, here’s an open invitation to backup your skills with cash: H-O-R-S-E from the pro arc, up to $100/letter, unlimited rematches.

(I think I recall you claiming “semi-pro” status so maybe we’ll see about that)

I’m going to be in California next year. It’s on.

I was very pleased with Lin’s airball on that WIIIIIDE open three. I hope Felton continues to outplay him this year.

The Laker/Spurs game was great last night. Kobe was pissed as hell he didn’t get to take the last shot. I thought he was gonna punch Gasol in the nuts. Kobe had a great game though.

As far as the Wade/Kobe question posed earlier, I don’t even think it’s close for the next 2 seasons. Kobe by a mile. And Harden over Kobe if we’re talking about a 5 year plan. (like someone else mentioned)

Anyone else excited as hell for the Heat/Lakers game tonight?

I know no one else here cares about the Raptors but it’s really amazing how consistently they play 3 quarters/game.

3 okay-to-good quarters then a 5pt 4th quarter setting a franchise low. Unreal.
