Wilt McGee
The Lakers perimeter players inability to knock down wide open shots is astonishing. They’re professional basketball players for cryin out loud.

Any truth to the rumor that you and WF are trying out for their backup guard positions?
I’m surprised none of the Kobe lovers mentioned the game he had last night

They lost; if they won Kobe would be the greatest thing since the deadlift and smoked ribs.
I really think bynum might be the biggest knucklehead out there right now. What a joke that dude is

Both games they’ve lost have been directly related to Bynum. During game 3 after the no call from McGee’s goaltend they showed him a good five minutes later and he was still pouting, so I knew he was worthless 'cause his head was on himself and not the game. I had Denver winning that game anyway but it’s still ridiculous. Then, before last night Bynum said that closeout games were easy 'cause the other team just lies down, so I knew Denver was gonna bring it and Bynum never really showed up. Before that comment I had the Lakers winning but after I knew Denver was gonna play with major aggression. Bryant and Gasol need to be their first 2 options, and Bynum and Sessions need to be 3 and 3A. Gasol has taken way too much of a backseat and needs to demand the ball. He’s such a huge mismatch against Faried. The Lakers are clearly the much better team, but playing like shit for 3 quarters and playing great for 1 isn’t gonna get it done. They need to close this thing out tomorrow night 'cause they let Denver steal one they shouldn’t have.

I have zero ball handling skills but I bet I coulda hit at least a couple of those wide open 3’s.
It still boggles my mind how Bynum and Gasol don’t pull down boards in the teens every game. It’s just laziness IMO.
Disclaimer: I did not see the Lakers game, and I know single game + /- stats mean nothing, so I’m not trying to make any statements about McGee’s actual impact on the game.
That said, just taking the box score at face value, it is so hilariously JaVale to post a 21/14 while having the worst plus/minus on the team.
^^eithout him the nuggets woulda been swept. He is playing out of his mind this series… It’s so frustrating to watch lol

I know, plus/minus stats are only valuable once you get a season (or more) of data, but it’s just funny to look at because it defines his time in Washington so much.
Hard to know whether WAS or McGee was the bigger problem but this year they were 8.5 points per 100 possessions worse with him on the floor http://www.nba.com/advancedstats/team-vs-player.html#Wizards-vs-JaVale-McGee|1610612764,201580;year=201112;season=r
Their offense was slightly better than the (historically bad) Bobcats with him on the floor and right around DAL/MEM/SAC/NYK with him on the bench.
Interesting article (with vids) on how Faried’s hustle cancels out Bynum’s skill advantage. I like Pruiti (author).

There were also several plays where Bynum failed to rotate and protect the rim and the Nuggets guards got easy layups. That shit is inexcusable, especially in the playoffs. Said it early in the thread and I’ll say it again: The more I watch Bynum, the less I like him.
Bynum quote from an article after last night’s game-
Bynum said, “I didn’t let my team down tonight,” but added, “It’s been tough getting the ball.” He took just eight shot attempts Tuesday.
Good God he’s a douchebag.

The guys on Inside the NBA were ripping on him for constantly saying ‘we’ about ‘team’ problems, like McGee’s transition dunks and offensive rebounds, that were really ‘me’ problems of Bynum not getting back on D and not putting in effort on the boards.
If Bynum isnt getting lots of touches and scoring points he mentally checks out of games. Its so frustrating. When he’s playing like he’s capable of playing the Lakers are a pretty darn good team… the problem is he’s a giant toddler and has the “fine! I’m taking my ball and going home.” attitude a lot of the time.

Rightfully so. The article SCJ linked talked about how Bynum was getting pissed at his teammates for not covering his ass. That’s ridiculous. He wants credit he doesn’t deserve and pawns blame when it’s his fault. He might be the biggest douchebag in the league right now, and that’s REALLY saying something.

What’re the odds he’s an only child?

a 7 foot little brat.
Assuming LAL moves on, is anyone actually predicting them to beat OKC?

Only if Bynum gives that forearm shot to KD or westbrooke and takes them out. Which i wouldnt rule out as possible.
