Actually, the relationship between height and proportional weight is not linear. If you took a 5’ guy, kept the same proportions, and made him 6’, the pounds per height of the taller guy will be MUCH higher. You have to remember, you are growing in 3 dimensions not 1. A cube 3 times the height is 27 times the volume. Proportionally width and thickness increase with height.
So, from 5’ to 6’ height only increases by 20%, however, volume increases 73%. A 180 pound 5’ guy is proportionally the same as a 311 pound 6’ guy. Or 3 pounds per inch of height to 4.3.
