Mostly I follow Josh Bryant’s advice. I used to do well with higher frequency and higher volume, but I only got so far like that. Right now I bench twice a week. If you can only train twice a week then you’re severely limited in what you can do, unless you decide to sacrifice another lift, which I don’t advise. Josh Bryant’s book “Bench Press: The Science” has a lot of good information including special exercises, the kindle version is cheap too.
