Prof X,
I’m a bit confused - it seems that you have taken my quote “it looks divisive, badly planned and hence a bit silly so far. I hope it doesn’t stay that way.” to heart.
Let me explain: I was sceptical about the T-Cell not because I feared it may not achieve the desired results - better, more focused discussion on all things bodybuilding has indeed ensued. I was sceptical because I feared that there would be a ‘club mentality’ which doesn’t go with what I’d like to see T-Nation to be.
Indeed, the result has been better threads about bodybuilding, but with it came debates on who deserves to be a member, and how to get rid of undesirables. While this may be necessary, I was amazed how cack-handed it has been handled; and in my view this has led to division and infighting. It shows bad planning and it looks silly. Hence my earlier post. I stand by that.
The HeadHunter case shows: the system can and is being played by people who don’t seem to be interested in waiting for HH to ‘offend’ - they vote him off, and I think that sucks. It reflects badly upon the attitude of people within the Cell, and re-inforces my initial scepticism. That’s my criticism.
What I’m now having a problem with myself is this: it seems that it is ‘ridiculous’ that I voice this criticism because I pretty much only post in GAL and Politics. Yes everyone, it’s not ‘some people’ - it’s ME!
I’ll be happy to explain: I always accepted the authority of the authors and ‘vets’ who have been here longer (I read since 1999, but post only since 2004); this btw includes you. Being everything that is not wanted in the Bodybuilding forum (I’m one of those alledgedly non-existent ‘hardgainers’, I’ve practiced martial arts, I cycle, I don’t eat a whole cow per day, etc.), I’ve pretty much stayed out out of respect and because I followed the general rule of ‘shut up and learn’. What I cannot contribute in Training and Nutrition, I can somewhere else though.
What bugs me now greatly is that it is exactly that respect for and support of a ‘clean’ (from guys like me) and focused forum is held against me - rendering my views as ‘ridiculous’ on something that currently divides the Nation greatly. If that is the spirit embodied by the T-Cell, I really wouldn’t want to belong. I have indeed turned down my invitation to the T-Cell, as I disagree on principle - and also, because I don’t belong there. It would be nice if you showed me the same respect I have been showing you and your brethren over the years.

PS: I may have to edit this one, as I’ve just hacked this post in quickly during my lunch break.[/quote]
What was dividing the entire forum was the giant level of degradation towards anything related to actual competitive bodybuilding/powerlifting lately (anything that involved larger muscles than average). Very few of you, aside from Rainjack, myself and some who started that “bodybuilding bunker” thread actually spoke up against that sentiment.
Since we have done so and made a fuss over it, ALL OF A SUDDEN, everyone has an opinion…when the truth is, since the creation of the T-Cell, nearly all posts about how bad big muscles are even in the regular BB forum have died down. Also, until this crap with Headhunter, there were no major issues in that forum.
That shows nothing but that even the admission of a known troll can cause turmoil whether they actually post or not.
The one who chose to bring a tribunal on HH has come forward now. It is clear that HH has pissed quite a few people off…including the person who nominated him who happens to be Jewish (not sure if that has something to do with it…but I do know most of the black posters on this forum seem to have a similar opinion of HH).
I personally wouldn’t vote anyone off unless they posted something to stir shit in the forums for that purpose only. HH is KNOWN to do this, so why would anyone want him there to start with?
Look at the crap he is even writing in THIS thread.
That T-Cell forum, up to this point, has only kept out the insane newbies who feel they need to inform everyone about how big they do NOT want to be and the trolls who post just to get a response.
Why would that be seen as a negative or “divisive”? What was going on before this was way more divisive than the addition of that forum.
