I have been reading a lot here on Thyroid numbers and I am wondering if the symptoms I was feeling had anything to do with my Thyroid. I had a complete BW done in late November with an HRT specialist. I had low T but not “clinically” low with low libido and drive.
Me:
50 years old
5’ 8"
165 lbs
Lift in the gym 3 - 4 days a week
Eat “ok”
Supplement Program (to long to list here)
Stressed due to work
Sleep like crap (see above)
Pre-TRT BW:
TESTOSTERONE, TOTAL 403 280 - 1100 ng/dl
SEX HORMONE BIND GLOBULIN 37 10 - 80 nmol/L
TESTOSTERONE, FREE 4.10 0.80 - 11.30 ng/dl (1.88%)
IGF-1 296.0 H 87 - 238 ng/ml
CORTISOL 19.4 ug/dl (Tested @ 10 a.m.)
Normal individuals:
Morning am 7-10: 6.2 - 19.4 ug/dl
Afternoon pm 4-8 : 2.3 - 12.3
LH 2.7 1.7 - 8.6 mIU/ml
PROGESTERONE 0.97 0.2 - 1.4 ng/ml- 8.6 mIU/ml
ESTRADIOL 29.1 7.6 - 42.6 pg/ml
DHEA-SULFATE 382.1 H 44.3 - 331.0 ug/dl
ALBUMIN 4.8 3.2 - 4.8 g/dl
My only real symptom was a lack of libido and some ED. Understanding that Thyroid issues can exhibit the same symptoms of Low T I am wondering if there may be an underlying issues.
THYROID TESTING
T3, FREE 3.7 1.8 - 4.6 pg/ml
T4, FREE 1.21 0.9 - 1.7 ng/dl
TSH 2.420 0.27 - 4.2 uIU/ml
My Doctor stated that my Thyroid was in fine shape but looking at the TSH at 2.42 and reading anything over 2.5 can be a problem I am wondering if this is the cause of my low libido.
Note, I started a TRT protocol 3 months ago to get my T levels into the optimal ranges and my libido has improved. Also, I do not have any any other symptom (that I can notice) of a thyroid problem.
Do the Thyroid numbers above present a “normal” range?
Thanks.
