Congrats on being a member of CT’s team - this is going to be awesome! [/quote]

Thanks! I was SO excited when Jared called to tell me. At first he said “So you’re not going to be a part of team Shelby” so I thought “DAMN!”. Then he said I would be on CT’s team, and in doing so, flipped my world upside down haha

Lol - it certainly would have

Killing it man - I can’t see what your doing but I know you are.

Hope you get picked for that trip - truly amazing.

Team Shelby, Team CT? The TN’s version of Twilight?
Yo no se WHAT’S going on, but I’m happy for ya?

Lookin’ beefy in the avvie as well ALK =)

Congrats Ashy - you definitely deserve it!!!

Sorry I forgot to stay caught up in this log. I think I’m going to start copying and pasting my Indigo posts in here so you guys can more easily communicate with me  I can’t leave my original log followers behind

Thanks, John! Coming from you (I have a great amount of respect for all of your hard work and contributions to T-Nation and the entire fitness community for that matter) that means a lot!

So yes, I was selected for the trip to CO! Between this, meeting my girl in Cancun (which by they way, I don’t know if anyone saw in my Indigo log, but we did meet in Columbus Ohio lst weekend. It was amazing, and it just went to show us that what we have wasn’t just a Cancun thing and I truly know that she is “the one” ), and having access to Indigo, my life is pretty damn perfect right now

I’m BEYOND excited for my trip to CO. It’s going to be so much “fun” and I use parenthesis because I know what CT has in store for us is going to be far from easy haha. I can’t wait to meet him and everyone else at Biotest! I’ve been a huge fan of CT for some time now, as you can tell from my HP Mass run and use of his principals since then. This is all honestly a dream come true. I’ve always talked to my friend about how awesome it would be to train at Biotest and be filmed. As I type this out I just can’t describe the feeling I have right now, this is ridiculous!

CT has be training two-a-days five day a week right now, and I also have a bonus workout that I’m supposed to get in whenever possible, so I think I’ll be saving those for my scheduled off days. I’m just doing my best to make sure I’m prepared for the trip to CO. I know that I’ll be the smallest guy there, but that doesn’t mean I can’t bring something to the table and hold my own

Day 20

8:00
4 caps Indigo-3G

9:00
1 cup oats, 2 scoops whey, 1 banana, 4g fish oil, 1g vit C, 2,000 IU vit D

12:00
4 caps Indigo-3G

1:00 (squat based session)
1 scoop ANACONDA, 20g CH, 3 scoops Surge Workout Fuel, 64g dextrose WOAH

3:30
3 slices wheat bread, 200g chicken, 2 tbs PB, 4g fish oil, 1g vit C, 3,000 IU vit D

6:00
4 caps Indigo-3G

7:00 (decided to keep it to the strength session this morning. Wasn’t feeling all that great. Will most likely do tire work tomorrow on my “off” day)

8 pieces sushi, 1 cup steamed rice, 4g fish oil

10:00
3tbs PB, 1 scoop whey

Training

Volume increased, as well as my top weight on squats. i kept the same weight as last week, but was feeling good so I added 10, then another 10 over a couple of sets. More volume, more weight, same or better quality reps, shirt drenched in sweat, so a good day in the gym

That’s a total set/rep PR for me at 295. Depth might need some work, but it’s definitely not a half rep lol.

Hey Adam, awesome that you have a log up in here. I’ll honestly probably be lurking (maybe posting) in here often because you’ve been a motivation from the start and i’m glad to see you’re still going strong.

Saw you facebook pictures with your female and i’m really happy for you buddy  How do you plan on visiting her after you come back? Do you plan on moving or something?

Lots to comment on as always in your journals but something that struck me was the consistency in your diet. Props!

Also, what exactly is “indigo?” I was searching a little bit around and see it’s a new supplement?

Anyway, will be lurking here  Keep going hard man

Big things happening in here as usual, inspirational as always ashy!

Marky Mark! Haha, I’m still following your progress via YouTube so keep it up man. Nice 310 X 6 squat

Thanks bud! Well we just visited each other for 3 nights in Columbus, Ohio which was amazing. Just being with her is awesome, no matter what we’re doing. And this is crazy because I’ve always been the guy who says “There’s no way I’ll be in a relationship at this age, I don’t want to be tied down” but I’m the exact opposite with her. But yeah, we’re trying to figure out what we’re going to do with our living situations. Because now, she has just moved to Tucson, Arizona for work but I still have 3 semesters left at KU. But we’re going to work it out.

Indigo is a new supplement Biotest put out that contains Cyanidin 3-Glucoside (sp? lol) which basically dramatically increases your body’s ability to actually use the carbs/nutrients that you eat, among many other things. Here is the article:

http://www.T-Nation.com/free_online_article/most_recent/indigo3g_repartitions_nutrients_into_muscle_instead_of_fat

There is a section on here just for logs of the people who are currently using it. Not one person has had a negative thing to say on it. There’s even a guy (buffd_samuri ?) that bought the product just because he was skeptical about it and wanted to bash it. Turns out, he’s ordered more and doesn’t ever want to stop taking it lol.

Keep lurking man, and start a log up  I’m pretty much done with bb.com but I’ll still be in there from time to time. BB.com is to my campus’ gym (bench and curlers) as T-Nation is to my strength club (bumper plates, bands, chains, chalk) if that makes sense lol.

Thanks for stopping by!

copied from my I3G log yesterday about my deadlift/hip-dominant session

NOTES: Reps went down today, weight went up. Was able to pull 415 for a few triples, without a belt. I used straps though: some a-hole came up to me and said “That platform over there is for what you’re doing. These floors weren’t made for that”. When first of all, I was NOT dropping the weight. Yeah, I was making some noise, but nothing crazy. Sorry I’m using a decent amount of weight and it’s not exactly fun to use a 5 second negative so that your “going through the motions” workout isn’t disturbed. Oh well, it was good motivation for the rest of the workout. It wasn’t the fact that he said that, but the way he said it was like nails on a chalk board. Other than that, a great session  reps were good, and I went through two sweat towels, and got on of them a bit bloody from shins bleeding from deadlifts lol. Oh, and I hit 535 for a few triples on rack pulls, which was definitely a PR.

Also, I have progress picture up in my I3G log.

Hey Adam.
(belated) Congratulations on being a part of the Colorado Trip!

You definitely deserved it! Killing it man.

Just wanted to stop on and say, you are the reason I joined T Nation and started to keep a log and started busting my ass…Inspiring bro. Keep it up. I’ll definitely be following.

@Undecimber: Thanks! This is definitely a dream come true man

@Noah: wow, I don’t know what to say but, thanks! I skimmed through your log and it looks like you’ve been putting in some good work and you’re only 18. Keep it up bud, I wish I would have started that young.

So I’m going to Warped Tour today in Bonner Springs, KS. So I won’t be training as I’ll be out and about in the sun all day jumping in moshpits, carrying crowdsurfers and all that good stuff lol.

Here is one of the many sets of deadlift/rack pulls I did yesterday. This was my last set of deadlifts for the day. Considering how fatigued I was, and 455 is my best triple, I’d say it was a great day.

Texas In July - 1000 Lies

nice pullin’ adam

Those plates look comically sized, any reason they seem thicker than the usual?

@Adam-F: Thanks, bud!

@phlegms: Bumper plates. I’ve seen bigger lol. It sucks though because you can only fit up to 4 bumper plates on a bar before running out of room for more weight. So in the vid, I have 1 bumper plate, then 1 metal plate, and then 2 more bumpler plates, before adding 15 on each side (10 lb bumber and 5 lb metal plate). The surrounding bumper plates do a decent job at absorbing impact, but I still have to controll the weight a bit on the negative when a metal 45 lb plate is on.

(yesterday’s workout. I also did some sled work, and sprints in the afternoon)

1:00 Week 4 Day 4

A1) Top-Half Squat (rest 15-30 seconds after A1)
495 X 3, 525 X 3, 545 X 3, 545 X 3, 545 X 3, 565 X 3, 585 X 3

A2) Vertical Jumps (rest 60-90 seconds after A2)
10 X 7

B1) Back Squat (rest 15-30 seconds after B1)
315 X 3, 315 X 3, 315 X 2, 295 X 3, 295 X 3, 295 X 3, 305 X 3

B2) Depth Jump for Height (rest 60-90 seconds after B2)
5 X 7

C1) Power Cleans (rest 15-30 seconds after C1)
155 X 3, 3, 165 X 3, 3, 175 X 3, 3, 185 X 3 PR

C2) Vertical Jump w/ DB On Chest (rest 60-90 seconds after C2)
60 lb DB X 5 X 7

185 power clean PR
(Steve is xdsho, a former BOI poster who always makes fun of my weak power clean  I’m going to catch him)

NOTES: Weight on squats was down a bit, but depth was much better. I’ve been missing depth for some reason, but I focused on really burying them today. I got in the zone on power cleans. I used to have troubles cleaning 185 just once, but I nailed an easy triple today. I’d like to hit 225 pretty soon, maybe in CO? Lol I’m about to eat dinner with the family, and then I will do some sled work whenever I get back. Vertical jumps were a little less explosive as the sets piled up, but I rested a little bit less today. Great session, though.

I have no doubt you can get 225 soo!. You’re definetly strong enough. It’s all about technique. Anyway nice job man.
